  1. I believe they got nuked in the march 2008 crash. The horrible human being thread got nuked in the august '04 crash.
  2. I gotta say gaughan, judging by pictures. Now i've never seen Gaughan, but Tim's picture on ESPN makes him look about 12-13 years old, so gaughan should win.
  3. Fagg is an intriguing option. As the article said, he got hurt during the combine and had durability issues here at FSU. He showed some flashes of brilliance in a few games down here and was usually a solid option, when healthy. I'm rooting for him to make the team. As for the long snapper from FSU, i've never heard of him.
  4. Outside the top 10, rooks aren't making ridiculous gobs of money. So you can snag a decent OT in the pick 15-25 range and only have to pay him about 3-4mil per year with about 10 guaranteed.
  5. Tim, I've got a couple of questions about players and money, specifically 3 different groups; vets, drafted rookies, and UDFAs. 1. Do all of these players earn a per diem or a stipend from the team for mandatory OTAs and training camp? (since their salaries do not start until the regular season) 2. Do the drafted rookies receive any type of payment from the team prior to signing their contracts? Most won't be signed until july, so do these get any money from the team, or do they get an advance from an agent to get them by until then? 3. For the UDFAs, they already have signed a contract, so what do they do for cash until camp? I assume their contract comes with a minimal signing bonus, but do they get anything else? For example, Take rookie UDFA X who signed on monday and gets cut 2 weeks into training camp. How much will he bank during that time? Thanks in advance.
  6. Good call. i was going to mention this one myself. EDIT: that thread isn't much more than a typical tard bash until B-Dawgg says some really dumb stuff on page 8. Then the thread gets really good.
  7. Players reflect their coach. The Bills don't care because their coach exudes this attitude of "it doesn't matter if we win or lose as long as everyone tries and i'll take everyone for ice cream after the game." Dickie doesn't hold his players accountable for their play on the field. I want a coach who is going to nail kelsay's ass to the bench for being worthless on the field. I want a coach who's gonna say, ya know what, i'm gonna start this rookie over a worthless vet because he's busting his ass and showing some talent, and if he makes a mistake, so what? (see: webster, jason and thomas, anthony)
  8. The scariest part? DJ only averaged 7 wins per year in chicago with the help of a fluke 13 win season. he totaled 22 wins in the other 4 years.
  9. Good stuff. Now the problem comes in jauron letting him on the field to actually play.
  10. I read the article and it talked about possible quarantines, and the penalty for punishment in the event quarantine is necessary, you yourself happen to be quarantined, and you yourself choose to break out of quarantine. Nowhere did it speak of martial law and forced vaccinations. Is there some type of biblical software search tool i need to download so it can translate to idiot crazyman-speak?
  11. The wind was so strong that Trent has just completed a beautiful 30 yard pass to robert royal.
  12. Trent came out and said that he was not prepared for what cleveland gave to him. This is inexcusable over halfway through the season. What exactly were jauron and co. preparing him for? a 4-3 defense? the 46? Also, please explain how it is the players' fault that Marshawn got 1 carry in the final 25 minutes of a 1 score game when he was averaging 8.4 yards per carry. Dick and turk both knew how well ML was running that day, and if turk refused to put him in, then dick needs to grow a pair and override turk. When a manager sees his underlings screwing up, its his responsibility to correct those mistakes. Please explain how it is the players fault that the game plan often times fails to adjust to what the other team is doing. Please explain as to why the coaches seem baffled after a loss, stating things like, "it worked on friday." Please how the players are responsible for a ridiculously bad track record in challenges. Please explain how the players are responsible for calling 3 straight runs and settling for a 52 yard FG into the wind instead of gaining more yardage to make the FG easier. These things are the coaches' fault not the players.
  13. You're right. The players didn't execute when they called 3 straight runs and settled for a 52 yard FG into the wind. Marshawn Lynch didn't execute when he got 1 carry in the final 25 minutes of a 1 score game where he was averaging 8.4 yards per carry. A FB screen pass is a brilliant call when deep in your own territory trying to run out the clock on 2nd and 5 - its becomes even smarter when your starting RB averaged 6 yards per carry during that game and the opposing defense was worn out.
  14. A better question is; if Dick jauron is such a good coach, why has he failed to produce any results in his coaching career? He's got 1 winning season in 8 years as a head coach. That's not a fluke, or an anomaly. That's a certainty. You'd think that dick is so good of a coach, he'd be able to coach up his teams to at least win a respectable amount of games more than once in 8 years. And the "no talent" excuse is just that, a pointless excuse. The talent across the league is fairly close among most teams. There are some differences, but not as big as you'd make them. Coaching the talent you have is what makes the biggest difference. Good coaches know how to use the talent they have in an effective manner. Good coaches put their players in a position to win. Good coaches dont hope and pray that the other team messes up more. And most importantly, well coached teams win when they need to and show up in big games. Well coached teams don't have their starting QB say,"I wasn't prepared for what i saw on monday night, we've never gone over that in practice."
  15. Most of my optimism comes from the draft. The fact that we are building the lines, and should have 2 solid second year starters for the new coach in 2010, and got some hopefully good playmakers that will have already gone through their rookie growing pains and will be ready to contribute in a big way for the new coach in 2010. Plus, if the new coach switches us to a 3-4, Maybin could theoretically be shifted to rush OLB.
  16. Apparently Dwight skipped over Proverbs and Matthew when he was reading/deciphering the Bible. http://www.deadlysins.com/sins/pride.html http://www.whitestonejournal.com/seven_dea...sins/pride.html
  17. Dwight knows how to decipher the Bible and determine when and where events will take place. That's why he's living in a 1000 sq ft house with 10 roommates eating spam and dinty moore. But, he KNOWS this time is really the end of times, because HE's predicting it. And HE's obviously that much smarter than the people who claimed it was the end of the world the previous 20-30 times. They couldn't decipher the Bible and use it to make financial predictions. HE can. If you have some time in paris, make sure you load up on silver so you can survive the apocalypse.
  18. Worst movies in recent memory: The Weatherman - Nic Cage Burn after Reading - this may possibly be the worst movie ever created based on its infinitesimally small entertainment/star power ratio.
  19. He was a DE for years in tennessee, but arizona followed the common belief that you can simply make any 260 lb DE an OLB.
  20. The main problem remains: what they did ISN'T SCIENCE! If it was science, the global warming apostles would set out to prove the opposing viewpoints wrong. Instead, they simply choose to ignore any and all opposition, parroting, "What we say is true, do not questions us. Our beliefs are above criticism." That line of logic is reserved for religion, NOT science. If you want to prove definitively that X is the definitive cause of Z, not only do you have to prove that X impacts Z, but you also need to prove that Y does NOT impact Z.
  21. He'll be in Minnesota sometime between the end of july and the beginning of November.
  22. I was gonna say the same thing. Seems about the right time for the smart-ass dinner thread.
  23. I understand. I am headed home right now to eat my emergency supply of Frank's Red Hot, as per your instructions. That will keep the swine flu away.
  24. To be fair, they've had green glowing mice for years now, via GFP.
  25. Perhaps because Madden uses something like 15 attributes, not just the 4 that were shown.
