  1. This is what happens when you give an overweight, under-motivated, mentally handicapped individual an enormous contract. The only people that want Peters to stay in Philly are the people who run Pat's and Geno's. I'm guessing Peters doesn't have a favorite place, he probably gets a few from each on his way back from practice/game/etc.
  2. He did hit the ground and hung on to the ball. The call was BS no matter which way you look at it. He had possession and was down in the endzone. Touchdown. So now WRs need to hang onto the ball while getting up? Pure and simple bull ****.
  3. Your point about the Bills needing to draft better is taken, but the bolded is incorrect. Dallas picked Ware at #11 with their own pick. Buffalo's pick was #20, where Dallas selected DE Marcus Spears.
  4. no way. A 4th and 10 from your own 1 inch line has better chances of success than a hail mary. (that is, if you have a QBN willing to throw something more than a checkdown)
  5. There's no question about the play call. You go for it. The wise move would have been to run a QB sneak on 1st down to pick up 2-3 yards, give yourself a bit of breathing room, and still have 3 chances to get the other 7.
  6. Nope, and thats why the rule is goofy and makes zero sense. If CJ had caught the ball like he did, got his knees down, but his ass hit out of bounds instead of the endzone, its a completed pass for a TD. The rule punishes you for staying in bounds. The rule is only in effect if the player goes to the ground. If you stay on your feet, you only need to catch it with 2 feet down. If you are falling, not only do you need to catch it and get your feet in, but you need to hold the ball as you go to the ground.
  7. The Buccs had a TD called back in the playoffs against the redskins a few years back on this same type of call. I have no idea why you have to hold the ball all the way to the ground in the endzone even if you've caught it, maintained possession, and got 2 feet/a knee/etc down. It baffles me why on a run, if a flap of leather of the ball nicks the goalline, its a TD, but on a pass, you need to catch the ball, get 2 feet down, and dance a jig with the ball squeezed between your asscheeks before its a TD.
  8. Game 2 - Oklahoma 47, FSU 17 - Ponder - 11/28 113 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 9 rushes for 23 yards Uhg. This was an ugly game overall. Nobody played well, including Ponder. The OL was weak, they couldn't establish a running game, WRs were dropping passes, Ponder didn't play well, and Kimbo Fisher channelled Dick Jauron yesterday with his refusal to make any changes to the game plan. As for Ponder himself, there were 2 separate Ponders. The first was the QB who went 7-11 for 70 yards, ran for 15, and led the team to a TD on the opening drive. Then, the wheels came off. After than point, Ponder played arguably the worst football i have seen him play in his 3 years as a starter. He was rushing his passes, wasn't getting set, and looked a bit panicked in the pocket. He forced too many throws into coverage and didn't go through his progressions. On his 2 INTs, the first one he locked on his WR from the snap and threw into triple coverage. The second pick was a ball he tried to force into a well covered receiver. Not much else to say about this game. Aside from the opening drive, it was cover your eyes bad in all aspects, including Ponder. All i ask is that you consider this is arguably the worst i have ever seen him play at FSU.
  9. One question...Boise St gets a bad rap for having 2-3 tough games and the rest cakewalks. Why does Notre Dame get a free pass for essentially having the same schedule breakdown?
  10. Congrats to Turner for beating that overrated piece of crap Georgia Tech team. Nice him to see score a win over a ranked team after last week's blunder. Also nice to see Ga Tech and their bull **** gimmick offense get beat.
  11. Mitchell was a good blitzer, but from my point of view, there's essentially little difference between what he and Ayodele bring to the field.
  12. Interesting that you bring up Rex Ryan. Ryan was also quoted in the article and he said that what he wants is a QB and a CB. He wants a QB that can make throws and move the offense, and CBs that can lock down their WRs in man to man. Ryan said that when the CBs can hold their own, it allows him to do so much more with his front 7.
  13. Are they still going to keep the current "throwbacks" ie the blues with the old style crest? I like the looks of those but the Buffalo script jersey should be the 3rd alternate, not the home.
  14. Great post. What irks me are the pot shots that a lot of "reporters" take at the team. Its things like that which wear me thin. As you stated, its fairly easy to distinguish between the guys who actually tried to put in some time and the guys who merely glossed over, saw we didn't draft a LT or QB with our #1 pick, and predict us to go 1-15. But there are an awful lot of sports types who simply take cheap shots for no good reason. A good example was on NFL network last night during their 4 downs segment. They were talking about Spiller being named #1, and one guy predicted Spiller would win ROY. Another guy stated that if Spiller won ROY, he should win the offensive player of the year, because it would take a hell of an effort to put up huge numbers running behind our line. That was a fair assessment. But them Jaime Dukes pipes in something to the effect of, "Even if Spiller runs for 1600 yards, the Bills are still going to go 3-16 (yes he said 3-16) because that team is so terrible." I mean, really? Is that type of pot shot necessary from a supposed league analyst? What about guys who simply spend every single post stating how the Bills are terrible, everything they do is wrong, and that Ralph and "Smithers" suck? Or thats right, they laughably call themselves, "realists".
  15. Then there's the little fact that core samples have shown various periods in the climatological history of the earth where the calculated temperature (and CO2 concentration in the atmosphere) were higher than they currently are now.
  16. So these dingleberries can pick up to go 2-14 and 1-15, place us dead last in the AFC East, and question if we can win a divisional game, but then its ok to pick us to win right off the bat against a divisional opponent who is supposedly "light years" ahead of us?
  17. For argument's sake, after John Elway left, the shanahan-led broncos made the playoffs 4 times in 10 years. He loses a bit of luster with that little fact.
  18. What is 80/4.5 billion? Hell, i'll even give you the benefit of the doubt...what is 200/4.5 billion?
  19. There's little to no difference between a 5th, 6th, 7th round pick and a UDFA. The great majority of them never amount to anything, and most are gone after a year or 2. Often times, teams will pass on a "better" prospect they feel they can sign as a UDFA to select a player at a specific position, or select someone who would never sign with the team after the draft. If you are going to criticize the team for failing on a 7th round pick, you MUST give them credit for unearthing UDFAs.
  20. Sorry, wrong on 2 counts. Williams was taken in the 2006 draft, and Wright was taken in 2007. Also, it was rumored that ralph was responsible for the Wright pick, not Modrak. Anyone that is claiming Modrak is responsible for the draft misses, because he's the director of college scouting, obviously has never had a boss completely ignore their recommendations and do whatever they want.
  21. If you live in a "local" market of any of the 32 teams, as in within 60 miles of the city/stadium, the "local" team game has exclusivity rights. So that's why. But, in places like here in Tallahassee, we're not in a local market. So yes, we always get the jags games as a "regional" game, but we also get all 3 games televised between the 2 networks.
  22. Ponder went 12/14 for 167 4 TDs and 1 INT (off of a deflected pass) in a half of action against CFB superpower Samford.
  23. Game 1 - FSU 59, Samford 6 - Ponder: 12/14 167 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT, 2-7 rushing, in a half of action. Not much to say about this game. FSU completely rolled Samford as expected. Ponder had all day to throw, and they didn't have any designed runs for him in the game plan (due to facing OU next week, things were kept under wraps). The INT wasn't his fault. His pass was deflected at the LOS right into the arms of a LB. Next week we get a huge test in the Sooners as the 'Noles head out to Norman.
  24. DON'T THE LIONS REALIZE THEY JUST CUT A FUTURE HOF'ER??????????
  25. Before you say that the Bills WRs are the least experienced in the league, check TB's and StL's depth chart.
