  1. Got it. So if someone else is selected for a job/position, that means every other option that was looked at or interviewed sucks? Nice lahjik. The fact that the Falcons interviewed Nix blows your theory that "he's not a football guy/he's unwanted" out of the water. If Nix was so "unwanted" in the first place why did the Falcons even bother to interview him? Or is it (more likely), that you are being a simple minded crybaby who is bitching for nothing more than the sake of bitching. Again, you're not here to actually bring any type of discussion to the board. You're simply here to repeat "Bills suck, this move sucks" ad naseum.
  2. For those interested in Ponder, check out... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/117981-ponder-watch/ And for those mouth breathers spouting off about FSU QBs, Ponder will be the first QB coming out of FSU to be coached entirely by Jimbo Fisher. Bobby Bowden and the old 'Noles offensive strategy played no role in the development of Ponder.
  3. Game 3, FSU 34, BYU 10 - Ponder: 24-37, 243 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 11-11 rushing, 1 rush TD. Ponder looked very good last weekend against Wake Forest. He was extremely efficient in moving the ball up and down the ball on the Wake D. He also made some great throws throughout the game. He went downfield a few times, and doesn't seem to be suffering too many ill effects from the triceps bruise he has/had. ponder's first TD pass was a very nice throw on the run after he was flushed form the pocket. He scrambled, found a wide-open WR, and made a beautiful pass on the run. I can't think of any seriously glaring mistakes he made in the passing game. They've been running him quite a bit the past few weeks with some wildcat and/or option plays. About the only "bad" part of saturday's game was he fumbled after being blindsided. The kid is playing at a high level, and there are few worries that the offense will score when he's playing his best. The kid simply knows how to run an offense, and shows good awareness as when to check out of a certain playcall. He's doing everything that is asked of him and doing it at a very high level.
  4. No way Edwards brings back anything in a trade. Perhaps if he wasn't in the final year of his deal, but since he's a FA at seasons end, anyone who wanted him could have easily signed him.
  5. Troy Smith was signed by the 49ers. As for Brown, running the scout team in practice would take away reps that (from what i gather)Gailey wanted Brohm to have. they probably wanted players at different positions on the PS as well. They wanted Brown back because he knows the system and went through an entire offseason/camp with us.
  6. Whats so bad about cutting a player who had no future with the team? Trent was gone at season's end after being benched. So why not get rid of him and look to bring in someone who might contribute in the future. The teeth gnashing over this is nothing more than people being negative jackasses for the sake of trashing the Bills. And no surprise its the usual suspects are the ones acting irrationally. Anyone whining about getting rid of Edwards simply needs to re-watch the first 2 games of this year. You really want that guy on your roster?
  7. Yawn. Your asinine aisle 8 QB theory once again proves to be nothing short of idiotic. Please tell me how Manning has done since his rookie year. I think he's improved a bit from that 3-13 start, no? Actually, can you take a look at Manning's second season and tell me how well he did? It remains a simple fact that the best chance to land a franchise QB is through a high 1st round draft pick.
  8. With all the Whitner bashing going on, Jairus Byrd looked terrible out there today. But lets forget all that because as soon as Whitner is off the team, our secondary will be #1 in the league.
  9. The Bills pick in 2005 was the #20 spot. Dallas took DeMarcus Ware with their own pick. Not only that, but we sent 2nd and 5th round picks in the Losman trade up. There was no 3rd rounder involved. Facts suck.
  10. Folk was only 18-28 last season, including a miserable 6-14 over 40 yards.
  11. Did he mention that it was by choice and his 3rd one this month?
  12. This thread is a great example of why a majority of Bills fans are complete !@#$s who deserve to root for a sucky team. Best fans in the league my ass. Trent Edwards is a monotone robot with no fire or drive to win, and gets lambasted for it. On the flip side, you have Whitner who is one of the few players that actually (outwardly) gives a crap how well this team does, and legitimately wants to win, yet he gets villified for it. And not for a good reason, but because the GM made a bad decision and took him instead of a player everyone else wanted. That draft was 4.5 years ago. Get over it. There are many reasons why the Bills are bad, but Donte Whitner is not one of them.
  13. Care to elaborate how McCluster, who was taken at #36 overall by KC (round 2 before we picked), would have lasted to our pick in round 3?
  14. Does he wear gloves while signing them?
  15. Actually, with Edwards being benched, i have some more hope that the Bills can win. We have a QB now qho will actually throw the ball.
  16. Agreed. I'd rather go 2-14 with Fitz tossing 30 INTs while trying to make a play, than go 2-14 with trent taking sacks and throwing 2 yard checkdowns all game long.
  17. Just cut Edwards and be done with it. There's no reason for him to ever take a snap under center for the Bills again.
  18. Game 3, FSU 34, BYU 10 - Ponder: 14/21, 149 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 13-50 rushing, 1 rush TD. Ponder bounced back into his usual shape against BYU. He was calm, collected and efficient. He actually didn't throw too much, as FSU rolled up nearly 300 yards rushing. Ponder made the throws he needed to make, most of the short to medium variety. He didn't make any glaring errors. Just played a good, solid game overall. Also, it came out today that he's been playing with a bruised tricep on his throwing arm, so this is part of the reason why we're running the ball a ton and not taking too many shots down the field.
  19. You dont necessarily need an older QB to "mentor" a young one. In Tampa, they've got Freeman starting with John Johnson and Rudy Carpenter as backups. None of those guys has been in the league more than 3 years.
  20. Chad Simpson can do the same. Or any other random RB on some other teams practice squad.
  21. So when the Bills snag players off of other team's practice squads, they are getting "castoff garbage that 31 other teams didn't want." But when a team signs a Bills practice squad player, all of a sudden they are grabbing this immense talent?
  22. Miami (and the rest of the league) thought Incognito was so awesome that they signed him to a whopping 1 year, 1 million dollar deal.
  23. Getting a real QB in here will improve the team much faster than getting the equivalent OT.
  24. I could care less about the skins, i was just rooting for Gano, my FSU homeboy. Tampa is my "other" team. At least they're playing decent ball thus far.
