  1. I've got Cutler who is out this week, so as a 1 week replacement, i'm playing the matchup game. Any thoughts on who'd be the better start, Fitzpatrick vs the jags, or Bradford vs the Lions? thanks in advance.
  2. Happy Birthday to you too!

  3. This move effectively torpedoes the season for the pats*. Sure they'll *probably* make the playoffs, but last time i checked, that wasn't the goal in chowder-head land. welker will struggle against top corners and without anyone else to draw coverage deep, his effectiveness will suffer. There's simply no one one the pats* now that will scare opposing defenses.
  4. Regardless of who built what OL, a HOF OL isn't going to make an inaccurate, erratic QB any more accurate. The Colts would be a middling team if they didn't draft Manning.
  5. Carolina traded a #2 in 2011 for a #3 in 2010. I dont see how NE always dupes teams into making this deal or trade. (e.g. trade a round higher next year for a round lower this year)
  6. check your dates...polian didn't get there until right before the '98 draft, when he took Manning. Polian didn't "build" the Colts OL.
  7. Care to explain what "plan" this team has? I haven't seen anything resembling any type of coherent plan coming from OBD. So, what exactly is their plan? To not play all the rookies we drafted? To trade away young good players for nothing (Lynch)? To wait to make the trade until is provides no possible immediate benefit for us? To sit on their hands in free agency? To not hold a real QB competition, and then release the "winner" 3 weeks into the season? I dont think its too much to ask the team just exactly what in the hell they are doing.
  8. Sadly, that list of players could beat the current Bills handily (provided they started Collins, not captain pansy ass)
  9. It sucks for this guy, but he basically refused to purchase "insurance." He gambled that it wasn't worth his $75 to retain the fire department services and lost.
  10. The SEC is so damn overrated. They have the best team in the country, sure, but what about the rest of the conference? Georgia and UT are nothing. UF is a big question mark. LSU is sketchy at best. SC and Auburn have played decent, but thats about it. The SEC is NOT head and shoulders above as everyone else like the SEC fans would like to have everyone else believe. By my count, they've got 1 great team, 1 really good team, and a couple more decent teams. Thats nothing more than most of the other conferences.
  11. And yet he's been as productive as Aaron Maybin this season.
  12. If the US could ever figure out how to win consistently in the team matches, the Eurotrash would never win another Ryder Cup.
  13. Game 5, FSU 34, Virginia 14 - Ponder 17/29, 172 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 10-17 rushing. Ponder had another solid (if unspectacular) outing in the beatdown of Virginia. Again in this game, FSU had clsoe to 300 yards rushing (3 straight games with over 200 rushing yards) the football, so Ponder hasn't been asked to do a whole lot through the air. Jimbo is perfectly fine running the ball. He made the throws when needed to, and he also rushed/scrambled for a couple of key first downs. While he's not piling up pinball numbers, watching Ponder, he's shown an ability to get the first down when needed. Even if its a 4 yard scramle or a short dump off, he's been great at finding seams or the open man to get whats needed to keep the drive alive. The kid's simply playing some good, smart, solid football. Another big test comes this week when we head down to miami. Hopefully Ponder will have a better showing than the OU road game.
  14. If you have the chance to draft a franchise QB, you take one. Plain and simple. Then go to work on the lines, which gives you a season or 2 to build a good OL while the QB matures. A HOF OL isn't going to make an inaccurate QB more accurate. But, a great QB will cover up the deficiencies of an average OL.
  15. Myth #7: The bills are going to all of a sudden realize Chri$ Kel$ay is worthless and cut him prior to next season. Kelsay is on this team for at least the next 3 seasons.
  16. The funny thing is, for all the **** he gets on this board, Whitner is one of 2 bills players that actually give a **** if we win or lose. (Fitzpatrick is the other). The remaining 51 players seem to be simply going through the motions, especially our new $6 million dollar man, chri$ kel$ay.
  17. Calling the extension questionable is akin to calling The Deepwater Horizon a " small leak."
  18. No question you do the deal, for the exact reasons listed above. From FSU's standpoint, i'd gladly take a series with Kansas in both sports.
  19. Of course, in a recent SI article, Rex Ryan said that he places a very high priority on CBs. His logic is that with shutdown corners then you can do whatever you need with the front 7 to generate pressure. Again, his words, not mine.
  20. We could have done the same thing without wasting money on this stupid extension. If he all of a sudden plays lights out, then pay him the 5 mil per season extension. But, he's not going to.
  21. Why dont the 4 jags fans just call each other on the phone to discuss it instead of paying money for a message board?
  22. The problem isn't extending Kelsay. The problem is paying him 6 million per season. If Kelsay was being extended at 1-2 million per season, thats fine. Not for 6. I don't know what the hell OBD is thinking. Ayodele or any number of other players can fill Kelsay's void for 1 million per season. No need to pay a worthless LB 6 million per.
  23. Kelsay being re-signed as a backup for 1-2 mil per year...sure i've got no problem with that. Kelsay at another 6 million per year? Asinine and idiotic.
  24. Man, i miss the reggie ball days at GT. Nothing like watching Ball go 8-30 for 258 yards (all to calvin johnson) with 3 TDs and 3 picks. Jamar Nesbitt is well on his way however, after his beautiful 5-18 performance this past weekend.
  25. Fisher coached Russell up into the #1 overall draft pick. By Fisher's very own account, out of his own mouth, Russell (in college) was one of the hardest working players he's ever coached. He said Russell had an intense desire to improve himself and spent lots of time studying to be the best QB he could be. When directly asked why Russell flamed out the way he did, Fisher's response was that you can never predict how a 21 year old is going to react to becoming instantly rich and famous. He said by his best guess, it had to do with the "less than stellar" situation that the Raiders bring their players into, and that Russell seemed to have lost his interest to perform well for whatever reason (money, etc.)He said that the NFL and its millions are a great carrot on a stick for college players, but you simply never how they will react once they do hit it big time. Next time try some critical thinking.
