Working at Waterbeds and Stuff, players from the late 80's and 90's would come in all the time. Nate Odoms especially would come in after practice and hang out. They had an event at the Marriott on Millersport that they sponsored. Bruce, Thurman, Bennett, Tasker, Reed, all of them except for Kelly were there. In a football toss I got 2 out of 3 through the tire, and won a pair of RayBan sunglasses. I'm sitting at a booth with a girl who worked with me, her friend, and Thurman (who was seriously going after my co-workers friend). I got up to get drinks for the table, come back, and Thurman is wearing the RayBans. I said "Thurman, give me back my glasses" to which Thurman said, "they were your glasses". He was a rookie at that time so it was easy to forgive him. -
A friend of mine and his best friend were riding their bikes in the New Mexico desert. The only car on the road, a judge, ran into both of them. The friend was killed instantly. My friend was in a coma for 2 weeks, but pulled through. The judge? The police on scene asked for her cell phone. She gave them her personal phone, but later found to be on her court phone at the time of the accident. She got a fine...

The last time he was in the X-Games was 2003, 6 years before Gui was born! He came out of retirement for this years competition. I think he's 52 now.

Gui is 12 years old. In the recent X-Games, in the vert final, he landed the 1080. First one ever to land it in competition. And guess who else he was competing against? Tony Hawk! Nice job kid!!!

Are the Bills are a "regional" team?
Draconator replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I lived in San Francisco, there was a healthy amount of Bills Fans. The fun thing about that time is the Bills bar is across the street from the Jets bar. So there was a constant battle of the Shout Song vs J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets during games. -

What exactly did the Tampa Bay Lightning do to the Cup?
Draconator replied to Draconator's topic in Off the Wall
Sorta like the Guy LaFleur story in the 70's. The Canadians had won the cup at home, and Guy was to take the Cup home with him. On his way home, he got a flat tire. He changed the tire, arrived home, and his wife asked him where the Cup was. Guy had left it on the city streets of Montreal. He went back to where he had the flat tire, and there was the Cup still sitting on the street. -

There are actually 3 cups. The original from Lord Stanley of Preston himself is indeed safe and in a vault at the Hockey Hall of Fame. This cup (the one that was damaged) is the one that replaced the original Cup in the 1960's. The third is at the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Great Hall for display purposes when the 2nd cup is off getting bent out of shape by various champions. Remind me to tell you what the Rangers did to it in 1994. Hint, it was taken to strip clubs. -
