  1. Well Leonard Floyd certainly has paid for himself……….
  2. Beane should give 50% of his extension $$ to Josh. Maybe more.
  3. I am HERE for the Edmunds rubbernecking.
  4. For me, personally, it's just something along the lines of a lack of accountability by this particular coaching staff wrt the playoff issues the team has experienced the past two years. I'd feel more confident about this team if there was more transparency and accountability about 13 Seconds and the Bengals game. I get it, they're not obligated to be more accountable and transparent outside OBD, but at the same time they want the fans' buy-in and are critical of the media for chasing the "smoke" (i.e., Diggs this offseason). I'm as excited as I always am but do not fully trust these coaches to coach up these players at critical moments. I would love for them to earn my trust this year!
  5. Not just up the middle but side to side using their zone stretch concepts to set up play action short throws to the flat. They will do that over and over again to get Bernard’s head spinning and then they’ll ignore the flat option and take a deep shot or two.
  6. Sorry, what happens on Monday?
  7. LT is a key need for 2024.
  8. RIP Football Outsiders. They were acquired by a gambling company last year and it stopped paying all of the writers and now the site is gone. Really a shame.
  9. Lol so the guy lards up for two months to start the offseason and has to scramble to lose weight during OTAs and that’s a “positive” showing of his “commitment to excellence”? Do not restructure or extend this man’s contract, Beane.
  10. McVay has zero interest in sticking around for a bottoming-out.
  11. Will probably come down to 2-3 key plays - a turnover here, sack there, punt return, unchallengeable questionable call… etc. Game really could go either way and I don’t know how anyone can predict it esp Week 1.
  12. But OTOH you keep basically preaching to us a football version of the Divine Plan: the roster is this way because it has been willed so by One Bills Drive. “Beane and McDermott know what they are doing and who are we fans to question them.” Talk about self-righteous…
  13. Williams is the real deal but don’t sleep on Maye, and there are several other good “consolation” prizes at QB this year. This is a pretty good class.
  14. Whereas Boogie was 24 when he was drafted - was likely much closer to his ceiling by then.
  15. Dorsey’s process issues appear to be in the red zone. He should hire someone specifically to help him with red zone offense.
  16. Defensive coaching.
  17. Agree with this. Edmunds’ tackling style is more of the crocodile-death-roll where he grabs the legs and twists. Not exactly how they teach it but it does the job. The issue is he is so tall and top-heavy that the shorter ball carrier often twists forward for a couple of extra yards during the tackle. As compared to Winfield who, despite being 5’7”, ended the play at the point of contact every single time.
  18. Seems like something put together by ChatGPT.
  19. Huh? Where did I say that it was? Why is this particular thread such garbage?
  20. And something about “they’ve evolved.”
  21. And yet - they just signed a street FA in the hopes that he will step into that role by early season. And cut outright the guy who was taking starter's reps in the preseason. Hope is not a plan.
  22. Again, you are inferring from what happened that it must have been their plan all along. If Edmunds made game-changing plays - INTs, forced fumbles, sacks - do you think they would've let him walk without aggressively trying to re-sign him? If the answer to the above is "yes," what is that based on? They used expensive draft capital on him and talked him up constantly during his tenure here. If the answer to the above is "no," then why did they draft him in the first place? And why didn't they do a more thorough job finding his replacement before dumpster-diving through the $1 CD bin less than 2 weeks away from the season opener? If their view has really "evolved," as you say, there is little evidence of that other than the secret wish that the front office always has a perfect plan.
  23. Sorry but these are just poor takes. If McBeane agreed that MLB is the least-important position in the defense, they would not have invested such high draft capital in him to begin with. Edmunds underperformed relative to their expectations (lack of big plays) or they likely would've found a way to pay him at the expense of, for example, Ed Oliver. And had they done that, the same group of us would've been criticizing the contract and a group of fans like yourself would be replying with, "Well, McBeane obviously prioritizes MLB for their defenses and who are you mere mortals to be questioning them?" I don't mean to pick on you but these tautological arguments become exhausting - "X happened, therefore McBeane must have wanted X to happen." If McBeane truly believes MLB lacks importance than Edmunds was an objectively terrible draft pick.
  24. No it will not. He is now a veteran who has washed out of one of the weakest OL groups in the NFL (Arizona). Completely unlike Teller who, as Beane admitted in yesterday's PC, they simply did not give enough time to develop.
