  1. Roman needed a HC to reign him in a bit. He’s a great play designer but struggled with disciplined play calling on game day. Remember the chaos that would occur as Tyrod waited and waited and waited for Roman to send the play in, as the play clock ticked down? By the time they’d get to the line Tyrod wouldn’t have time to survey the defense (not that it mattered - Tyrod didn’t really read defenses presnap). Harbaugh seems to have helped Roman develop into a more compete game day coach. But if he ever gets a HC opportunity watch out, because I don’t see him succeeding in a situation where he’s the top man with no one to collar his worst tendencies.
  2. He’s not a homerun threat. They don’t really have one of those on the roster. Beane hasn’t prioritized speed enough. I somewhat agree here although a back shoulder lob like that should be pitch-and-catch for a veteran QB and WR tandem. That’s an almost impossible play to defend if done right. Is it a lack of attention to detail in practice by Allen, Brown and Daboll? Clearly also they still need a real number one receiver - I love Smoke’s game but he cannot be relied on to carry the offense.
  3. They lack blue chip talent at skill positions: WR, RB, QB, EDGE. That’s on the GM. Has to get fixed or they’re going to stay in the 6-9 win range forever.
  4. If McD wanted to fire Daboll tomorrow for the third and four calls alone, he’d be justified.
  5. If the kicker ends up with a lower completion percentage than the QB, you’ve got a real problem.
  6. Ok but what is Dawkins doing on that play? Can someone tell me? Because if Allen turns to throw to his left he’s going to be clobbered by the free unblocked rusher. That was just a disgraceful two minute offense. Epic fail.
  7. Mayfield as compared to Allen: less talented athlete with a faster processing speed and better situational awareness. What I saw in college and what I saw today.
  8. I cannot believe (i) Lee Smith was allowed to have two more penalties; (ii) Levi Wallace was left on an island; and (iii) Allen fumbled AGAIN. Re the last point, but for a fortuitous bounce and great awareness by Feliciano, the story of this game is Allen coughing it up yet again, this time on the goal line. Allen is a knucklehead. Still has a high ceiling but I’m drafting a QB in the 3rd-4th round if I’m Beane. Something about Allen is just off.
  9. The third and three play where josh threw incomplete deep to Beasley, who was double-covered, changed the game. But Levi Wallace losing track of Higgins lost the game.
  10. Searching for the right word here ...
  11. Ours is washed. He never recovered from his injury. Coaches should’ve seen it in the offseason.
  12. Also Levi Wallace is not a 2. He’s a 3 or a 4. Should not be starting.
  13. Jauron Ball loses the game. If you’re gonna coach that way, and assemble your roster that way, you’d be best served to beef up special teams - which costs nothing. But these guys are super stubborn about that.
  14. Not a playoff team - and not a playoff coaching staff.
  15. Milano is terrible this year. It’s time to talk about it. He’s bad.
  16. Allen needs to step up. It is TIME.
  17. Edmunds may be the worse MLB in the league.
  18. They’re not a playoff team.
  19. Gonna be one of those days. Ugh. Just once I want them to exceed my expectations.
  20. Browns got up for this game. That was my fear.
  21. Baker is worse against no blitz. Like the worst in the league. Gotta best them straight. D needs to man up.
  22. The D can’t beat a physical and talented offense. They’re soft.
