The Pats usually have no problem doing this although occasionally they have an off day and fail to execute. Let’s hope for that. When the Bills have the ball, I expect BB to bring everyone to the line standing up, to limit Allen’s pre-snap reads. Then I’d expect a lot of dropping eight into coverage, possibly with a spy to Allen’s right side to prevent the drift/scramble. Allen is going to have to throw anticipatory passes into tight windows - his weakness to date.

One related thing no one is talking about: is Milano fully recovered from his injury? Because he’s supposed to be a thumper on the outside, and it doesn’t seem to me that he has regained his explosiveness, yet. If Milano were healthy we’d notice Edmunds’ struggles less, IMO. That’s my theory, at least, could be wrong.

And he also just doesn’t seem to play violently even when he reads the play and squares up to hit - I’m not sure he’s ever going to be a violent thumper type.

Edmunds has had a really rough time shedding blocks so far this year. Still wondering if he’d be best off the ball in the Jamie Collins role.

If he doesn’t get several rings he won’t be in the GOAT conversation. If he keeps up at this pace he will break all of the records and win multiple Lombardis and we had that pick in hand but an insecure first-time coach with no GM and inexperienced ownership needed to establish his culture before drafting a quarterback and that coach had better start winning against good teams or it’s going to continue to haunt him. That said, I blame the owners not the coach.

Disagree with the last point - it’s definitely part of the McDermott “narrative” - his contract will be up for discussion at some point soon. His overall record, his record against New England, playoff appearances, the trajectory of Josh Allen, and the decision to pass on the potential GOAT absolutely will come up. Unless he’s got rings to flash, it’s coming up.
