Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition
BillsFanForever19 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
If that is true, i'd trust it even less. I wouldn't trust Antonio Brown telling me whether or not it's going to rain. And the idea that anyone in the NFL who makes decisions is telling Brown anything, when he's essentially persona non grata, is dubious at best. Would also explain the CTESPN handle and taking credit for "having Fields to the Steelers first" when they said Fields to the Steelers doesn't make sense. Guys brain is mush. -

Diggs, a mountain of dead cap, a 3rd, and a 4th for 2 2nd's? Pass. -

A lot of followers means nothing. ECB gained a lot of followers. Anyone without any media credentials that goes out of their way to say "I had it first" (especially when they really didn't) is a clout chaser. Prob has a lot of followers for calling themselves CTESPN. -

It hit him in the hands. If anything that's him saying "so close" in regards to the long ball pass and catch connecting. No way he's saying that was Josh's fault. He knows it wasn't and took full accountability for it. -

Uh, yeah, I gotta agree with the question mark. There was no reaction indicating it was Josh's fault. If there was, this board would never let it go. -

Since everybody loves to speculate on Diggs tweets, here's another possible explanation of "ready for whatever". I remember last season him being asked about a tweet he made by reporters. His response was "I thought everyone loves Drake? It was just a song lyric". To that end, maybe he's quoting a T.I. song. T.I. has a song titled "Ready for Whatever". Some of the lyrics are PRETTY fitting and fall more in line with someone tired of the talk around him (of which he tweeted about earlier): "Hate the price of fame It cost too much (aye yeah boy) And you lame ****** talk too much (aye yeah) I'm ready for whatever, somebody better tell 'em (aye yeah boy) I said I'm ready for whatever, hey, hey, hey Even though my head in the clouds, I'm planted on the pavement How I'm walkin' 'round, people starin' in amazement I play a lot of game, but well-being I ain't playin' with They so judgmental, maybe they don't understand" -
Samuel changes nothing. He's a great player and we're going to have him on the field as much as you can. But he's more of a Slot that you can use on the Outside in certain packages. He's not a guy you put exclusively on the Boundary and call it a day. The plan all offseason was to go from a decent, yet unspectacular core to potentially a spectacular one. Replacing Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty, and Trent Sherfield with Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins doesn't do that. Still one more step to take.

Exactly. You keep him this year. But at the same time, you don't make it harder on yourself to move on next year, if it's necessary. -
Justin Fields traded to Steelers

A 2025 6th?! That's the best they could do? With multiple teams nowhere at QB and relying on a Rookie? Man, the league doesn't think much of Fields. -

Okay! Actual definitive, factual, confirmation of what a tweet is about. There's one where speculation is dead. The stats tweet was directly a response to all the people claiming he's toast. That's it. Not only that, but humility and accountability for the drop. Which is something people have been wanting. -

One rumor that he is pushing that is incorrect (as is CBS) is the hr changed his profile picture when that was always his profile picture. Side note (not pertaining to you): The irony of people who are "tired of having to see Diggs' tweets" telling people they can just choose not to read this thread and ignore it is hilarious to me. -

That's false, actually. That's been his twitter header for a long time now. I can't go back in time and take a snapshot, but I remember reading that and thinking "huh, he's had that forever". I think it's fairly obvious that's him responding to everyone who said he's fell off. -

My stance isn't that it's impossible that Diggs hasn't taken a step back and there's no scenario where he isn't a monster this year. It's that the time to do it, if we do isn't THIS offseason. Give him this season as part of a much improved offensive weapon core and see if that revives him. We're having to pay exponentially for him anyways. I see it just as likely that having him pays dividends for us than it is he doesn't. I'd much rather have Diggs, a Round 1 Rookie, and Samuel then that alternative. If it doesn't work, you move on from him next season when it's a better time to do so. Both financially and from a stance of Josh having a year with the new core and the Rookie having experience. -

So then say that's what it's about. You want him gone bc you personally think he's fell off. That's what gets me about this thread. Everyone makes things like these tweets definitive factual proof he wants out or he's a problem. Not because they're known facts. Because that's what they WANT it to be. And to the "falling off" end, it's also funny to me how every season we say "Josh needs help, we can't expect to win with just Diggs". But then when it doesn't happen and the season ends it's "Diggs didn't do enough". This last season was the worst in terms of help on the other side of Diggs. Davis was non-existent, even when he was on the field. He got no help in terms of taking the coverage attention away down the stretch, beyond the middle of the field. Yes, the drop was bad. But there's tangible things that can be pointed to in terms of why there was a fall off down the stretch. Now we're finally setting up a situation where we'll have a core of WR's that will demand more attention from Coordinators and we don't even want to see if Diggs can take advantage of it. -

If I've learned anything from this thread it's that this fanbase cannot handle WR's who demand the publics attention and have a different personality than your standard football robot. You'd think we were dealing with prime Terrell Owens or Keyshawn Johnson the way Bills fans act towards Diggs. I wonder if Vikings fans are begging for Justin Jefferson to go lately with some of the things he's said? It's embarrassing to me to look at the tweet replies and see fanbases from every other team in the league BEGGING for him to be on their team and then see our fans calling him a cancer bc he's tweeted out innocuous random things like "Well..." that could mean LITERALLY anything. -
I don't see signing a third vet WR. It's on to the Draft now there. Only way I see a third vet is if the Draft board falls terribly and they don't see value where we're picking in Round 1 or Round 2. Which with the depth of the class is pretty unlikely. And even then, it would be after the Draft, when I imagine Mike Williams will be no longer available.

He posted a ♥️ before posting the oh so controversial "ready for watever" tweet. Posting a heart in conjunction with that would be a funny way of saying he didn't like the move, if that's what you're reading into it. Again. "ready for watever" can mean literally anything. It can even be a positive thing. He can be looking at the addition of Samuel and the upcoming season and saying he's ready for whatever anyone throws at us. Or he could be going out on the town somewhere for the night and saying he's "ready for watever". Pretty sure CBS is wrong about his changing his background too. I feel like I've been looking at that one for a while now. It's much ado about nothing. Sunday at 4PM, we're handing him a check for 18.5m. No way we're doing that (capped or uncapped) for the privilege of him not working for it. So if something is to happen, which I find extremely unlikely, we'll know very soon. -

I totally agree. The juxtaposition between this and then this... ... is jarring. -
This one did not go well when it came to DT. Everytime I was on the clock, the value for DT absolutely wasn't there. And I'd never take Nubin fist. But the rankings they have on PFN at WR are so broken, it's better to address Safety first.

I'll even take it a step further.... Hearing what he wants to hear to push the narrative he needs to be traded - because he wants a scenario where we have the ability to Draft 2 WR's this year instead of 1. That's the real motivation. And for others, it's because he dropped the ball in KC. Or they just don't like his personality. That's the real issue. They're motivated for it to mean he doesn't want to be here because they want him gone.
