Bills create a “Nickel Coach” position
bills_fan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im cool with a 1st round CB. Make that pass defense extra nasty. -
This is exactly right. Whether ABC or ESPN does it matters a little, but making Monday night the premier matchup of the week (like Sunday night is now) would do much more to re-elevate Monday night football than merely switching what channel the game is on. And to the OP, yes, me and all my rowdy friends are ready to enjoy MNF again. Bring back Hank!

I was just in Lake Placid skiing for a week and they are making a huge deal about the 40th anniversary of the 1980 Olympics. They had lots of fun and cool stuff.

Do we really need a power back?
bills_fan replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We could use a power back and a home run threat tbh. But whoever we add NEEDS to be able to pass protect. -
RIP Sy Sperling (Hair Club for Men)

The active man of the 80s! Loved that commercial -
Changing the GM/coach every 2-3 years is how the Bills went 17 years without a playoff berth. Its not a recipe for success. The Sabres need a more talented roster but they have some real building blocks in Eichel, Dahlin, Skinner etc. They need to add talent and depth. Many of their youngish type players can become building blocks through internal improvement (Mittelstadt, Pilut, Olofsson etc.). The team is very, very young and has a lot of room for growth. I would certainly give Bots another year (at least) to see this through.

RW made his daughter an official scout for the team. That meant Polian had to deal with her as much as any other scout. Now, while I love Polian, he was very much a "my way or the highway" kinda guy. And he didnt want the owner's daughter forced upon him as a scout. You can see how that dynamic was set up to fail in epic fashion. Add to that the fact that Jeff Littman (Ralph's penny pincher from Detriot) and Polian did not get along at all. If I recall correctly, Polian wanted to pay Will Wolford and got into a big fight with Littman about it. Linda Bogdan (Ralph's daughter) chimed in that she would find another good LT and that set Polian off like a rocket. He called he plenty of colorful names in front of the whole front office staff. That didnt go well with Ralph. While I do not think Polian was fired by Ralph per se, they both agreed to not continue their employment relationship after the season. If anyone recalls more (or corrects my mistaken memories) feel free to join in.

Favorite ESPN 30 for 30 documentary
bills_fan replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The U Catholics vs Convicts Requiem for the Big East Survive and Advance Four Falls of Buffalo The Legend of Jimmy the Greek (this was awesome btw, highly underrated). Guru of Go The Two Escobars When the Garden was Eden The House of Steinbrenner I Hate Christian Laettner Pony Excess The 85 Bears Unhittable: Sidd Finch and the Tibetan Fastball Nature Boy Honorable Mention: The Class that Saved Coach K - while technically not a 30 for 30 its a well done documentary by ESPN films. -
I say good for them. They produce decent content (albeit with a Boston bend that I personally dislike).

I would really like Green and Ngakoue. Pass on Conklin because he's too much of a douchebag. Aj Klein would fit in nicely. I'm in the re-sign Shaq Lawson camp. Of course, I would love to sign Hooper and Drake, but I think you can only afford one (assuming you plan to extend guys like White and Milano).

Things that will be hard to repeat in 2020
bills_fan replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We had zero defensive TDs and only one special teams TD. I would think that would be pretty hard to repeat as well.- 50 replies

Russ Salvatore letter to the editor in 2018
bills_fan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, posting this is crap. Russell has been a Bills supporter for decades, he would buy out the tickets just in time to lift a blackout (and donating the tixs to local charities), supporting and funding the Jills when they needed it, hosting a great party in Ft. Lauderdale every year before the Bills-Miami game and charging nothing to go....Russell is one of the all time good guys in Buffalo and deserves praise for his efforts over the years.- 85 replies

College Admission Scandals Have Been Going on Forever
bills_fan replied to Irv's topic in Off the Wall Archives
They dont have Shaw's means. But Shaw absolutely bribed the colleges in a similar fashion. I had no advisor so I had to find the electives myself or through my fraternity brothers knowledge to enhance that GPA. -
Do you still have a landline? Why? Why not?
bills_fan replied to Augie's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't have one any longer. But it sure came in handy when NYC had the blackout in like 2003. Nothing worked except the landlines. Cell phones did not work at all. I often wonder if I should get one just for emergency purposes. -

These people didn't bribe the colleges in the right way. This article about David Shaw shows how to bribe the colleges legally lol. http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/09/david-e-shaw-college-donations.html -
Restaurant reviews and high prices

The original Delmonicos in NYC is awesome. https://delmonicos.com/ As is Wollensky's grill in NYC. If you go on a Mon-Th, the bartender (Patty Ford) is a Buffalo guy and always willing to serve up a couple on the house. https://www.smithandwollenskynyc.com/wollenskys-grill/ -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Bottom Feeding”

@Cle, @Pit will determine if they are 9-7, 10-6 or 11-5. It really could go any scenario. -
But what a way to go!
