  1. Ball-less, Indecisive. Doesn't use best players. Coaches not to lose. Get him outta here. Really nothing more to say.
  2. I think Chan's a mediocre OC masquerading as a head coach. We've all seen how he overthinks the game plan and leans to the pass. Do we ever run on two consecutive plays? Empty backfields with short distances, especially third down. Yet we'll go pass happy all the time. CJ spiller having a great game against Miami but standing on the sidelines in the red zone with Choice in the game. Same thing yesterday in the 4th quarter. There was a shot of CJ on the sideline at one point kind of looking all around him..almost pleading someone to let him back in the game. Unreal how Chan just doesn't get it. He said this morning it's because they've allotted a number of plays for each back. Wow. Players are finally starting to go public on playcalling. From Stevie: "How I see it, I think we need to let our quarterback call these plays," said Johnson. "He’s out there on the field. He sees the adjustments that need to be done. I think we just need to let him make the adjustments on the go. I think that’s the way we can move the ball better. He did it a little bit in the game and we moved the ball. That’s how I feel about it. In the fourth quarter, we were pushing it. We were in a groove. He was hitting C.J. (Spiller), getting his run plays, doing the pass plays, and I just think we should just do it more often." Johnson continued when pressed by reporters: "The play calling is cool. In the situations, we are the ones out there on the field. He knows what to check into and check out of. It’s different when you are looking from the booth and say, ‘Okay, they might be in this’ than being out there. That’s just my take on it. I just think that he has the ability to control the offense 100 percent. I think we should take advantage of that." http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/11/26/3691056/colts-20-bills-13-postgame-comments-chan-gailey And as far as defense, he's come out and said publicly that he has almost zero input on that side of the ball, leaning fully on his friend Dave who "has more experience with defense than I'll ever have." This team is better than it's record. Coaching is attrocious.
  3. Ding Ding. I think this is the one that most people noticed. I'm pretty sure it was right after a play where it wasn't a perfect pass but a catchable one. He left the huddle early and clearly looked pissed. I totally agree that he was just showing his frustration at not catching the ball and not because he was upset at fitz or the team or being a diva, etc....
  4. Not with VY on the roster and a 3.75 million cap hit for Smith. If you see value in that and no one else on the team able to pick up 3rd and 2, so be it
  5. And I don't see smith's value if that's all he can do from the wildcat.
  6. And Young would be an instant upgrade for the wildcat. Think about a wildcat where there is an actual threat to throw the ball.
  7. If this happens, i'd think Thigpen and Brad Smith are both expendable. Fitz, Young, and a developmental for QB3.
  8. This could be one of the worst top ten lists ever assembled. No Buffalo, KC, or Pittsburgh. Two dome stadiums on the list. Horrible. Link
  9. Yes it would. But you're getting too close to that dangerous realm of logic, reason, and common sense.
  10. Really Rodgers?! I think he'd change his tune if defensive guys went all out and planted him in the turf a few times. Like others said above...it's an exhibition and not worth risking injury.
  11. Thanks for that. So we have a college coach as DC and a failed DC on staff. You'd think Wannstache would've made a bigger impact. Typical stuff from our beloved organization. The Green Bay Packers' season came apart thanks in large part to a defense that consistently blew fourth-quarter leads. Defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and most of his staff were let go Monday as a result. Sanders, the Packers' defensive ends coach under Mike Sherman in 2005, was tabbed to lead the defense after former defensive coordinator Jim Bates left the team. Bates, a finalist for the head coaching job after Sherman was fired, did not stay after McCarthy was hired. The Packers' defense got off to a shaky start under Sanders in 2006, giving up too many big plays and occasionally showing signs of confusion on the field. The unit improved in 2007, tying for sixth-best in the league in scoring as the Packers went 13-3. But the defense regressed in 2008. The Packers' big-play problems returned as they struggled to shake off several significant injuries. Consistent pass-rush pressure was a season-long concern. After giving up 291 points in 2007, the Packers yielded a whopping 380 in 2008. The Packers allowed 135 points in the fourth quarter in 2008, second-worst in the league behind Houston. Before their season-ending victory over Detroit, the Packers had blown fourth-quarter leads in four straight games. Sanders took responsibility for the defense's shortcomings. "I take responsibility for everything," Sanders said on the Monday after the Packers' season finale. "It's my responsibility. Certainly, I try to get our guys in the best position I can to be successful, and when it doesn't happen, certainly I understand that. There were a lot of good plays. The scheme has brought a lot of good plays and a lot of good wins. Certainly I know what this scheme can do. At times, I didn't get the job done. I understand that." At the time, Sanders knew it could cost him his job. "If you're a coach, certainly that's part of the situation that you sign on to," Sanders said. "I just work to the best of my ability."
  12. For me, the super bowl was the win over the Pats. It doesn't get any better than that game. Everything else has been gravy including the season opener in KC which I was at. I know that's sad and comes with low expectations but I've come to grips with the fact that this team will always be run a certain way (at least under current ownership)… spend frugally and turn a profit.. winning is secondary.
  13. Looks like it's the showcase game this week on CBS (Nantz, Simms) and shockingly i'm going to get it here in STL instead of the Chiefs...YES!!! I'm gong to be so ready for Sunday. Week 9 Map
  14. Anything is possible in the world of sports today. Let's focus on getting into the playoffs and then who knows what could happen. I live in St. Louis and am still getting over how a Cardinals team that had no business being in the playoffs won the world series. Also just saw a down and out Rams team with a backup quarterback beat the mighty Saints who had put up 62 just a week before.
  15. Fox has the double header this week, meaning CBS will only carry one game per market.
  16. Just as a head's up to everyone, make sure you double check your local channel on Sunday. This map is usually excellent but there are times when your local affiliate will make a last minute change. Last week, the map had the early Fox game as Saints-Panthers here in St. Louis so i assumed i wasn't getting the game. I was doing things with the kids and listening online. When i finally sat down in front of the tv for the second half of the early games, lo and behold the Bills game was on . The website also has an 'updates' section just below each map so check that as well. It didn't capture my change last week though.
  17. Belichick: Obviously it was a disappointing loss for us today. It was a hard-fought game. Buffalo did a good job; it's always difficult coming in here. They made a few more plays than we did today. They did a good job. No doubt about it. They’ve been doing a good job. Chan [Gailey]‘s done a great job with the team and they’re playing well. Yeah, they mixed it up. They did it all game. Brady: We played a good football team. We made too many mistakes. It's tough to overcome as many mistakes as we did. (Buffalo) made a lot of plays and they've got a good team. They're a good coverage team. They made some good plays in the pass game. They took advantage of some opportunities that they got. We fought to the end but it just wasn't enough. (Buffalo) made some good plays on the ball. Some days the ball gets batted up in the air and it goes your way, and some days it doesn't. That's part of the game. George Wilson made a hell of a play on that one interception. It's the way the ball bounces. That's football. Welker: The Bills came out there and played hard, and they kept fighting and they were definitely a tougher team that us today. They did a great job of making plays out there, and their defense did a good job and you’ve got to give them all the credit in the world. They’re a tough football team. They played really well, they kept fighting, and you’ve got to give them all the credit. Gronkowski: They're a good defense. The Bills have good players, they play hard and they go 100% every play. They're a tough defense. They're a good team. Every time I play them they're always tough and they're always competitive. They've got good players. They're legit. And this thread:Congratulations To The Bills And Their Fans. Much classier fans that i thought (for the most part).
  18. Bellichek was a bit testy about the timeout. LOL When asked about the second timeout that he was charged with. “We took it.” On if there was a miscommunication on the second timeout “I took it.” On why he came out onto the field toward the end when they called the timeout, if he was contesting the spot, etc. “No, I took a timeout.” You took a timeout? “That’s right.” On the fact he seemed to be contesting something “I went down to call a timeout. What don’t you understand about that?” On the fact he seemed a little animated to just be calling a timeout. “They were waving me back, and I was going down there to call it, so I called it.”
  19. Thanks for the head's up. This will go down as one of those games we'll never forget.
  20. I can believe it. I used to go there when I lived there. It's a crazy atmosphere... usually overflowed to the restaurant next door which was owned by the same people.
  21. Now that was worth the wait!! GO BILLS!!!
  22. All of the above was exactly my thought when it happened. The ball was down in bounds so normally it would have run and he would've had to take a timeout to stop it. Being the paranoid Bills fan I am, I was screaming at the ref to start the clock as soon as it was spotted. Bellichek threw a hissy fit about it probably just to con the refs. I'd find it hard to believe that he would not know this.
  23. I put the odds at 50-50 against the Patsies(*). They are not the powerhouse that everyone is gushing over. Miami (yes Miami) racked up some serious yardage on them. Both defenses look bad and both offenses look great. Pats are banged up on defense as well. We have the 12th man. Turnovers will be the difference in this game. And Lindell better not miss any this week.
  24. Luckily the wife is a huge sports fan so she understands the way I get for Bills games. Agreed. The Jauron years were sad. I had gotten completely numb to the apathetic attitude and lack of direction the team had. I'd still follow the games but knew they had no hope. That's the difference with this version. Even last year at 0-8 i felt better about this team because the games were very different - comptetitive ane entertaining for the most part. You get that feeling they're heading in the right direction, just like in the late 80's.
  25. I remember those days. Now with a family there's so much to do that I barely have time to get everything done before kickoff. But the anticipation is still there through it all. I have one less hour to wait here in central time but it must be great for those of you on the west coast to wake up and only have a few hours til gametime.
