  1. good coaching wins you x number of games a year bad coaching costs you x number of games a year journeyman/cerebral/superstar QBs do blah blah blah for you ... Everybody does know that 78.49% of all statistics are made up on the spot, right? I appreciate the passion that this board brings to discussion about the Bills, but if all of us know so much about each player and what we need ... how come we're all on this side of the discussion, not in the warroom with Ralph on Draft Day? Seriously ... why the hate and venom for everyone who disagrees? State an opinion as an opinion, use REAL stats to back them up ... let others respond. It's not that difficult.
  2. My instant response to the situation was to yell at the TV that Jauron should not be allowed to come back out on the sidelines after halftime ... that sequence of events should have made Wilson mad enough to storm down to the locker room and have security escort Jauron off the stadium property.
  3. I just have McGahee, Bledsoe, Flutie, B.Smith ... am I in trouble?
  4. One of the few times that our D did take over a game was against the Jets when Poz caused a bad pass to be returned for a TD. Of course, the D gave the game right back on the next possession ... letting the Jests to drive right down the field.
  5. We need to get over the onsides kick call ... it touched our FB's hand ... I didn't think so the first few times that I saw it, but on the NE endzone shot in HD, it definitely hit his hand. OTOH, it should have been reviewed simply to make sure they got the right call considering the confusion by the refs on the field, but it was the right call.
  6. though on a punt (or pass play) a person who has been OOB cannot be the first person to touch the ball ... i believe even on a fumble I've seen it ruled illegal touching for an OOB player to be the one to recover ... these rules seem to be inconsistent with one another.
  7. Just to clarify, it's Ch 4's parent company that is causing the problem. It's not WIVB in particular.
  8. He also needs to recognize the fact that the ball is on the ground, just cover it up ... don't get up and try to get your knee blown off. In the big picture, though, these things happen and I'm very pleased with Trent's recognition (even if we don't take into account that he's just started game 13 of his career).
  9. i'm friends with Donte & Marshawn -- Donte, probably real ; Marshawn, I doubt it also have Alvin Bowen & Derek Fine, both of these are definitely them, too many real life pictures Also have a couple sabres -- Teppo (probably not real), and Gerbe, definitely him. I had Barnes, but told him he could remove me if he wanted privacy -- he did
  10. If they don't even fine the Jags DT for his helmet to helmet on TE last week (on the play when the DT recovered the fumbled), they won't fine/suspend Whitner. If tackling becomes a punishable offense, the league is on its way down.
  11. I thought it was a designed naked bootleg. Spread formation, everyone went left except for Trent who went right. As soon as he saw he wasn't alone, he goes down. Just my thought.
  12. My only correction is that it was Corto that forced the fumble on the Kickoff. Corto was a madman last Sunday. Great blocks on returns. Two great hits on coverage -- one that forced the fumble, one stuff on the next kick return.
  13. I saw him limp on the punt return to lead off the series that he got hurt. I mentioned to the guys watching with me.
  14. yeah, and I remember the last time SD came to OP with the Bills 5-0 ... 1980 ... look it up I'll be happy to be 5-0 if we make it there.
  15. Interesting that it was Kerry Collins that replaced him ... because if you remember, Collins was the only other pro QB who went to his coach and told him that he couldn't handle being #1 back when he was with Carolina
  16. He is a great guy, but I don't think he can help you with your muffler, sorry, ask George Foreman.
  17. Dude, he's my friend, don't make me hurt you
  18. ding, ding, ding, we have a winner Add to that the other players didn't have the arrogant attitude that showed that they would have a problem continuing to play for their current contract numbers. Each one was (while probably privately hoping) publicly somewhat surprised that the Bills gave them extensions. Humility ... it goes a long way in dealing with your boss.
  19. I'm not sure that I define vanilla the same way. Only because I don't think you are playing vanilla D when you line up with only 1 down lineman. At that point you're trying to create confusion. Pitt did that several times with their starters against Edwards.
  20. This is the best post on the whole subject to date (IMHO). I've always loved Favre as a player -- and as a person, fun-loving, competitive, open, fan-friendly. This will discolor my view of Favre from now on. It's similar to what Barry Sanders did to Detroit (except the opposite extreme) giving little to no indication that he was going to retire and then doing it suddenly as training camp was about to start, giving Detroit no opportunity to fill his enormous void. That was classless -- in spite of a history of being a classy gentleman and great player. Favre retired this spring (maybe even late winter), now as the team has restructured and made plans for the last several months to move on, he wants back in? Sorry, he jerked the Pack around the last few years with the "will he or won't he retire" game. I'm glad the Pack moved on. Favre does not need to be painted as someone who has been wronged. Deal with it, Brett, you made your decision and didn't like it.
  21. Now I know he didn't write it on his own, but ... that was a good statement and should put most of this behind him.
  22. I was there too, my Dad wanted to leave, too. We got in the parking lot just in time to hear the roar from the crowd and the PA say "Here's the replay on the scoreboard." Never have I left any game in any sport early since then.
  23. Very cool, though I do have to say that Tasker's last game was against GB (IIRC). Jax may have been his last home game. He got tossed from the GB game for arguing/touching an official. My first was against GB in '79 -- Terry Miller had a great day, including a 45ish yard TD run and the Bills won 19-12. Great day.
