Bills public address announcer arrested
pkwwjd replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No he didn't dump it down the toilet. But also, no he didn't drink it the rest of the night when I wasn't watching. Our friendship was based on respect for one another. We could use some of that in this day and age. -
Bills public address announcer arrested
pkwwjd replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree ... I had a small post prom party (years ago) with some of my friends. One of them brought some alcohol and took it out part way through the night. I told him to put it away ... and he did. Amazing what positive peer pressure can do. He wanted to drink, but he didn't. It's much better and much safer to not drink. -
I can't imagine who will get the most votes on this board ... At least through most of his years with the Bills, you always game planned against Bruce & it still didn't help your offense do anything. Bruce was dominant most every Sunday that he was suited up. Strahan has been a great player for most of his career -- I don't want to take anything away from him (except that farce sack against Favre for the single season record).

Bills/Miami 99 wildcard game on nfl network now
pkwwjd replied to drg2021's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I noticed that the official media arm of the NFL made sure not to show Reed standing up ... How can you not show one of the major moments that impacted the outcome of the game? Unless they know that the official over-reacted. Sad, sad day. -
The history of the Bills and TE's
pkwwjd replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, Warlick (the All 1960s AFL TE) isn't good? -
Wearing a hat during the National Anthem
pkwwjd replied to OnTheRocks's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Even though this question lost a lot of seriousness a while back ... I bring up the counter point -- Most cultures, i.e. besides western (european & american), consider it a sign of respect to cover the head, not remove the covering. I find this interesting because we remove our hat to sing the anthem, go to church, etc, but in the Jewish tradition (on which the Christian western culture is originally based) you place a covering on your head to enter worship, or engage in official business with political and religious authorities. As a pastor, I still ask the teens in the youth group to remove their hats when we pray, but how important is the hat vs. the importance of the heart within? -
Tell AJ to beat it. Buffalo can make a trade with Tennessee.
pkwwjd replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a question ... why would GB or TEN HAVE to draft Lynch in the first round, but for the good ol' Bills someone in the second is just fine? Just curious. Why wouldn't TEN have the same mindset? -
Smerlas to run for Congress??????
pkwwjd replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just look at the current and former senators & congressmen from MA and you'll see Freddie fits in even better. -
Why is Lindell not listed as a #9?

I was interested in the medallions, too. I'm in NW PA, but that's still a long ways to drive everyday for 24 days. I would def. be willing to send someone money who is willing to get the full collection for me.

You guys actually like how the lightning bolt is done on the shoulders? The bolt on the white jersies aren't so bad with the blue background, but on the navy & powder blues? It looks like someone at the design firm didn't know how to use an alpha channel and make the background transparent. That's the kind of work I would have done on my 286 PC back in 1993. The helmets are cool, the jersey colors are great, but those shoulder bolts ruin it for me. I'd be ticked if the Bills put a buffalo on the sleeve of our jersey with an oversized white background like mom did it at home with an iron on transfer.

anyone who's been around knows that you don't use "belinda" unless there is no message beyond the message title How to spot a not!

BREAKING NEWS...Signing of the Year!!!
pkwwjd replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Byron Franklin BTW, I was looking through "Relentless" and in 1982, Jim Haslett had a catch. Does anyone remember this? Seems weird to me. -
Deluca needs another crusade after his one against JP fell by the wayside by playing well this season ... Marv & RW were the next best logical direction for ill-informed opinion & conjecture. Most of the rest of the country is already saying "too old, too senile", why wouldn't Deluca jump on that bandwagon?

Now that they are good, this happens
pkwwjd replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
... But how does that prove that the NFC is better ... -
I was too busy feeling sorry for the piano being out in the rain, being played by an old, fat, bald guy that I didn't recognize. Billy looked really bad.

Did anyone else want to see a follow up to the Sierra Mist Karate Class. I wanted to see the instructor thrash one of the students when they tried to take the Mist. Without that non-existant ending, the was a lame commercial.

Yeah, you can't just keep letting your FA go, year after year. Really, just look at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Big names and production don't mean much in the NFL. What IS important? Your GM's prognosis on future production compared to other options.

One thing that heartens me about this team
pkwwjd replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, that's why Bruce never worked well in the 3-4 Bruce would have to be a MLB on D if that were the case -
Sorry, I live out of state & I'm a pastor -- Sundays are usually kind of booked for me. That being said, I went to a preseason game (4 tickets), used my credit card points to get 2 tickets to the Miami game (had to sell them cuz it did line up with my vacation), and bought 4 more tickets to Tennessee game (cuz it does line up with my vacation). My wife has consented to one of my dreams -- when I retire, we'll rent an RV and hit each of the 16 (or more) Bills games that year. Until then, I'll need to be content with one or two games a year.

49ers leaving San Francisco! No Joke!
pkwwjd replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The point isn't about mileage, it's about commute times, and another city taking the team. Orchard Park isn't a threat to Buffalo as the main city in Erie county/Western New York. However, if pro franchises start moving to Rochester ... While Rochester is still regional to Buffalo (as is Santa Clara to SF), it can clearly be a competitor. As much as we want regional support for the Bills, they are still the BUFFALO Bills. -

The equivalent would not be the Bills moving to Batavia. It would be the Bills moving to Rochester. Or the Bears moving to Milwaukee. -
Did the running game improve in the 2nd half?
pkwwjd replied to Gary M's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually think that they would be served well by going to a 3 WR set, TE right side (to help out our RT, RG) and a single back. 'Course, I'm not paid to make those decisions. I'm just tired of the token play fake out of the I Formation with a flare pass to Shelton. Let Josh Reed play slot and motion him as needed for extra blocking, depending on the direction/misdirection of the play. We need more ace back sets -- WM or AT. -

pkwwjd replied to Gary M's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't make it all about ATrain. He played very well. I was excited about the effort. But ... WM had 4 rushes for 15 yards when he got hurt. Also he got hurt on a rush that resulted in a -3. So ... his first three rushes were for 18 yards (5 yds, 4 yds, 9 yds). Looks like we were gonna run over the left side all day, WM or AT. -
I was trying to put the best possible spin on those days ... One of my good friends played football with Jim in high school (my friend was a freshman when Jim was a senior, my friend's claim to fame is that Jim peed on him in the shower) -- when I've mentioned that Jim looked drunk during a few of those games early in his career, my friend said it wouldn't surprise him at all.
