  1. I never said they would use the third round pick for wr to be clear. yes they will.
  2. all fair points. Missing on wr happens to all teams without question.
  3. I completely understand that. The flip side of that is after having traded for cooper they still will have to draft a wr next year because cooper won't be here next year.
  4. yes i understand that, I have made a lot of posts in this thread but the only one's getting attention are the one's people want to attack me for..Which is perfectly fine. This trade as I pointed out in another post is pretty close to the trade the eagles made with washington for Dotson, they sent a third and swapped late round picks also. No, the browns issues have nothing to do with cooper.
  5. well I think Spencer Brown and Terrel Bernard are pretty good players but I am a casual fan who is a fool...so I what do I know. I disagree on the running game, I think they have all the parts to be excellent at it but the mindset of staying with it has been missing. Last night they stayed with it. You don't need an elite back you need an excellent running unit which consists of the line-tight ends-backs. we are very good at all those spots. Cooper will help for sure with the downfield stuff and over time is going to draw safety help which is going to immediately help the inside guys in shakir and kincaid. I also think he is going to help more than that however because he is excellent at running slants and imo can ran a great skinny post which can kill teams in the way they have been playing defense vs Buffalo so far. the key is still running the ball and committing to it imo. I think the group is still good and will improve with Coleman-samuels-kincaid. We already know what shakir is. I just hate the compensation. That is my opinion, I just hate moving top 3 picks. Being called a fool and a casual because I value the draft, especially with Buffalo being the second smallest market team in the league. Its always the best path forward imo. anyway, Cooper is talented and smart and will bring the missing dimension to this team currently but he is only here for the rest of the season. He wants one last big payday and I don't think they will give him that in the offseason.
  6. I guess another way to look at this trade is that it is pretty close to the same deal the Eagles made with Washington for Jahan dotson. They had a late round pick swap for a third rounder.
  7. I wonder if Buffalo Joe goes to the Practice squad tomorrow and then when oliver is back maybe they make a different move and release mvs or something.
  8. So I imagine the titans will stick snead on cooper this week which should be a great thing for coleman and or Shakir/kincaid. Should pay off right away even on a short week.
  9. He has shown from his trade to Dallas that he is smart and can pick it up right away. When he showed up in Dallas he basically won them two games by himself immediately. He had a monster game vs what was a good washington defense that had shut them down earlier in the year, then he helped them beat the eagles and win the division a few weeks later. he didn't make any difference vs the rams though and only won a single playoff game in his time there which was a defensive slugfest vs seattle.
  10. so far in this thread I have been called a casual, told to do some research and now I am a fool. all noted. Thanks.
  11. I remember his time in dallas very clearly. You do some research. https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/dallas-cowboys-growing-frustrated-with-amari-cooper-injury-issues
  12. Thats not true. Mike Fisher had the scoop the day after the niners game and over that offseason.
  13. no doubt he is the best wr on the team. I am not questioning that. I also layed out that I do understand why he cost a 3rd, I get it. i just hate trading away top 3 picks even when we have extras. Also I am a little nervous he shows up a few weeks from now with some minor injury and starts not practicing and then ends up questionable every week. that is my big concern with the player. on the field if healthy and 100% into win, he will be a big difference maker. This team is built to run the ball and if they continue to that cooper, shakir, kincaid and the backs can make the passing game go. I am not of this opinion to be a contrarian, if you look at my posts here you will see I am pretty consistent with my opinion on trading for wr as the savior, I have never been a fan of it and prefer to build the team in the draft.
  14. Yes I know their picks. Having alot of picks doesn't mean just moving one. If you have a position of strength in the draft I would like to think you play that hand at the draft. but again, i layed it out in my other post. They overpayed because they are essentially compensating Cleveland for them taking all his money this year (they did it earlier in the year). So onward and upward.
  15. well taking a step back and looking at it Dallas dumped Cooper because they wanted his attitude off the team asap, cleveland agreed to take his salary for a fifth. Cleveland is trading Cooper to Buffalo because they do not want/can't pay him going forward, Buffalo agrees to a 3rd because Cleveland ate the money earlier in the year. plus KC could have figured in somewhere or Baltimore. So in this respect I get it, I just hope he we don't get the pouting version of this guy who always has a nagging injury.
  16. he was traded to cleveland because he was dogging it in the divisional round of the playoffs vs the 49ers. The coaches wanted him off the team immediately after the game and dumped him for a fifth. If he is giving 100% and doesn't have a nagging injury he should be a huge difference maker, this week alone he should draw snead in coverage which will keep kincaid or shakir cleaner right off the bat.
  17. he is a financial bargain for sure. This level of player at that pay is basically unheard of when not on a rookie deal.
  18. I didn't like that either honestly but saw the bills as desparate at corner at that moment so i understood. I still don't think Buffalo was in the same spot at wr.
  19. that is a fair point and the prescence of the Chiefs needing help also probably plays a part. i just hate trading any picks in those first three rounds. For all I know Beane will turn one of the 2's into two 3's next year or a 3 and a 4 or something which would be fine.
  20. Now look at what Beane has done in the third. Dewayne Carter Dorian Williams Terrel Bernard Spencer Brown pretty good players. Hopefully Cooper is great and will make me forget it cost us 3rd.
  21. So on paper now Cooper-Coleman outside Shakir - samuel inside Knox-Kincaid -tight end Cook-Davis-Johnson rb that is pretty good. I imagine next spring the defensive line is going to be the focus.
  22. when he was traded to Dallas during the season in 2019 he hit the ground running right away. I think he can do the same thing here if he is 100% committed to playing.
  23. I am, WR is not going to be the reason this team finally beats KC or beats the Ravens in the playoffs. If the browns draft a big time player with that pick next year I will be sick. If Cooper fits in and plays hard and helps this team get over the hump I will be the first to tell you I was wrong. I just think giving up a third round pick is way too much.
