  1. Mahomes took an L in the bye week to the Yankees and there is a small chance he will take one today.
  2. I don't know how the niners are going to get by without the great Brandon Aiyuk an all time generational talent, a number 1 wr. I guess we will have to just keep tuning in to see if they can overcome this issue. looked like he was trying not to heave when he was running off the field. Sounds like he showed up with a stomach virus. I never understand how players can play with that issue. I can't get out of the bathroom or the bed when I have it.
  3. he has lost to the top AFC team in the regular season two years in a row. Baltimore last year and KC the year before.
  4. for the right price I imagine there are a number of teams interested. I imagine pittsburgh, washington, KC and the chargers could find a way to use him.
  5. yep. Have to think they are going to come out and run the ball 25 times also. This is the jax game all over. Buffalo needs a lead and the crowd into the game early.
  6. this has nothing to do with what I was talking about in the conversation.
  7. CBS were the kings of the intro's. Simple and effective driven home by the greatest voice to ever call a football game in Pat Summerall. The thing that kills me as an editor myself these pieces are easier to produce and make and are way more effective than the bright, loud highly fx filled pieces we get from all networks now. I always wonder how they do not understand fans love the old cbs style and not the modern stuff? I mean we went from these amazing intro's to a robot spiking a football on cbs and a fake country star who is highly sexualized for the male gaze covering a joan jett song. this one for cowboys bears wild card from 91 is great. 1990 nfc championship intro....perfect. I admittedly suffer from too much nostalgia, everything to me that was great is over and all I have left is nostalgia....but you can not deny CBS production levels for the nfl were amazing, they also had the conference with most of the stars and the best venues. I have some work to finish over the next two weeks but I think when I get it done I am going to take a stab at making one of these for a Bills game in December. I think Bills-Jets. I can remake that graphic open and use a pat summerall AI voice! Now I am excited to do this!
  8. They don't work for jerry and he has nothing to do with them having their jobs. 105.3 the fan is a cbs radio/audacy owned. Jerry pulled this before with the bigger sports station in dfw 1310 the ticket. They basically told him to kick rocks and go find another station and did not renew their contract with the cowboys. The difference now is 105.3 the fan really can't do that because the stations entire platform is being the station of the cowboys and the access they get to jerry, stephen and the players 0n a weekly basis. Jerry does two shows a week on that station and his son stephen does one, plus the head coach and multiple players. T
  9. It’s not about his abilities it’s about the fact that Allen will have only thrown to him in 3 practices. all the little things like the spacing of the routes, how he runs them depending on which hash the ball is on etc. all that is the stuff that takes time. he can run any route but him and Allen will not have a feel for each other for a few games. It’s got to be pretty rare that a wr shows up on a Wednesday and plays at a high level 4 days later.
  10. They didn't know he was going to be terrible when they signed him. His last year in Houston he threw 33 TD, 7 INT and 4800 yards.
  11. for anyone going to the stadium sunday be on the lookout for some kind of exotic car! Cooper is a big car guy. I always saw him on the news here in Dallas driving bentley's with suicide doors and mclaren's and stuff. Apparently he got some limited suv last year, number 1 off the line. https://www.motor1.com/news/683395/cleveland-browns-amari-cooper-first-rezvani-vengeance/
  12. Easily, that is adding to the team at the most important position on the field. I imagine the locker room was pretty damn excited to get a pro bowl level qb and couldn't give a rip that he likes the ladies at the massage parlor and is a complete creep. The nfl has a ton of creeps and always has. You think the Giants players in the 80's were upset that LT was a drug addict who loved hookers? Of course not.
  13. How would they explain trading the face of their franchise during a season though? what would that do to the locker room? this all seems really made up and just a fun topic to talk about.
  14. I remember trying to fall asleep at the end of a sunday night after the games were done and watching the highlights on George Michaels sports machine...even though I had already watched NFL Primetime on ESPN!
  15. I would imagine he will not have adjustments built into whatever they ask him to do this week but he can easily run a go, post, skinny post or a slant. those are easy reads for him and the qb to make. Just have to be careful with the slants i would imagine. I think the biggest issue this week is how much can he play without knowing the offense as they run it and understanding that the wr here block and are a big part of the running game. Are they going to leave him out there during a series like last weeks where they ran like 8 of 9 plays? If he is just out there on passing downs and its obvious then isn't that a tell to the titans? Will be fun and nerve wracking to see how it goes. Big plus that they are home and he will be able to hear Allen at the line of scrimmage.
  16. I think a little of that is also the amount of domes in the league and how they all kind of look the same. When you tune into a Dallas game it looks basically like a vikings/rams/chargers/raiders game. I miss the old boring stadiums named after world war II related events/people. Playing games outside on real grass always is better imo and looks awesome on TV. I loathe domes in the NFL and I dislike them even more in MLB. there was something appealing about watching a skins-cowboys game at RFK with madden and summerall. thankfully Buffalo, Chicago, Cleveland Green Bay and new england haven't built domed stadiums.
  17. They have a rookie, a talented one already starting on the other side for Awuzie...Have to imagine that would really hurt not having snead.
  18. My point was about the playoffs being carried on a cable channel that needs to be subscribed to through a cable subscription. Even Espn put the Orioles-Royals series on ESPN 2 which can not be subscribed to as a stand alone, so if you pay for espn or Espn+ as a standalone you still couldn't have watched the games without an actual Cable Subscription as part of the package. This is my issue, its a post season issue. Yes, I watch the Yankees on YES and also Prime and Apple TV. That is the regular season though. Personally, I use the MLB App and login to yes for pre and post game stuff with my parents account in NY. The Yankees sell a stand alone YES app subscription for 125 a year but I don't think its available in all markets, for instance I live 15 minutes from the Texas Rangers Globe Life Field and am pretty sure I can not sign up for YES. Cutting the cord is not subscribing to a cable subscription in the traditional sense, the delivery is not what I am talking about. Not sure why you are bringing that up, I mean yea you can subscribe to direct tv, spectrum, fubo, hulutv or sling etc. and just use an app. Not sure why that is relevant. In order to have the channels you need a subscription. As far as MLB never having a black audience I just don't buy that. The history of the game and cooperstown are filled with amazing black players and everyone wanted to watch them. Young black athletes grew up playing baseball and wanting to play in MLB because they watched/listened to their games and wanted to be like them. The game had players who looked like them they admired and looked up to. 19.1 % of the US is Hispanic/Latino, 60% of that is Mexican. 30% of MLB is Latino, 1.6% of that group is Mexican. So it's not the same thing. Kids growing up around this country until the last 20 years or so could turn on an MLB game and see black superstars who came from their neighborhoods and went to their schools and would want to watch and would want to be the next Willie Mays, Reggie Jackson, Rickey Henderson, Ken Griffey, Tony Gwynn etc. They just do not exist in todays game. A 2nd/3rd/4th generation mexican american family is not going to tune into an MLB game because a guy from the dominican is leading the Twins in RBI's. Its just a different thing. yep. I can't remember exactly but I think there is a play in the first quarter of the Giants-Niners 1990 NFC Championship that benefitted the Giants and they kicked a field goal out of it. I have game on DVD somewhere on a shelf from my years of downloading everygame I could get my hands on via ten yard torrents. I think those 3 points were big late in that game. Would have been nice to beat the hell out of Steve Young who was primed to make a mistake constantly at that point of this career in tampa instead of Bill Bellichick and Bill Parcells defense!
  19. So many reasons for the TV rating dominance as you, myself and others pointed out. The new thing over the last 15 years or so that is also driving those numbers is the incredible rise in women watching the NFL. I graduated high school in 1995. I knew tons of girls at school and in my family who watched baseball but I can't remember any girls/women who watched the NFL outside of the Super Bowl. Now It seems women from all ages are watching football, noon to midnight as stated earlier with the rest of us. You would never know this if you listen to sports radio around the country yet though because the ads are still a grouping of ***** pills, Beer, Hooters/local strip clubs, online gambling and oil changes.
  20. I think it was more rest oriented for him.
  21. Its also interesting in this narrative that it seems to always be the same teams in the nfl trading away players just like in MLB. The raiders moving good players for the promise of high round draft picks that they always screw up is no different than the oakland A's moving their young talent the owner is to cheap to pay to keep and then promising a winning season with the new crop of young guys. Just look at the Raiders when they traded Amari Cooper to Dallas, They got a first rounder for him that following season they had 3 first round draft picks yet here they are six years later without a quarterback and trading away another wr for the promise of a draft pick to build with. At least the other time the raiders had Reggie McKenzie in charge and he was competent.
  22. The league needs review though. If you remember or go back and watch some old games from the 80s and 90s etc. there are comical moments where games were decided on terrible calls that today would not happen. There were so many times balls were spotted incorrectly, guys fumbled and it was called etc..it was just accepted then. In today's world having 4k tv's and high def/HDR broadcasts with like a dozen cameras in the stadium catching everything it would be malpractice to not have review.
