Allen is a great qb. He’s a perfect fit for the Bills. But too many here are not objective when comparing him to the best in the league right now. I agree with all your points. It doesn’t make for a bad Bills fan to acknowledge another qb is better. Of all the ridiculous stats that Mahomes has the most impressive to me is that he leads in comebacks of 10pts+ all time at something like 58%. The next closest is Brady at 37% or something. Having the clutch gene is not something that can be taught. He just has it. I hope Allen and the Bills can improve enough to get 1 ring. I don’t need him to be the best qb in the league. Being the best qb for the Bills is more than enough enjoyment as a Bills fan.

It’s a good thing you feel this way because the Chiefs would never trade Mahomes for Allen.

I won’t 2nd the notion that he’s slow at processing. I don’t think that’s true. But he does seem frantic deer in headlights mode in situations where being calm and cool would probably serve him and the team better.

You mean like how Burrow did it in the AFCCG that killed a late drive with an intentional grounding? C’mon. I’m one of the biggest Allen critic on here and even I think you can’t take that part of his game away. Why would you? It’s a huge asset for the team. What you’d want is a middle ground. Run and slide. Run out of bounds. Avoid contact until absolutely necessary like in the playoffs. Kind of like the other qb that played in the AFCCG.

I don’t think they came out of the box as ‘best qb in the game’. That came from development from the staff and them working hard individually. Just attributing it to luck seems like discrediting all involved. I’m with you that it does take some luck to win a superbowl. But when a team has done it multiple times in a short period they’ve figured something out beyond just luck.

With a qb like Allen the expectation is exactly where it should be.

Unlike most here I didn’t like this comment from Allen. It screams a teenager trying to convince his parents that he’ll do better this coming semester because he’s very focused now. I’d prefer he’d just say we didn’t get it done this last season and will have to be better next season. Then work his butt off and do it. No need to try and convince people you’re focused now. What were you doing these last few years if you’re just now focusing?

Not sure if you watched the AFCCG this past season. Burrow was the one forcing things deep for two ints. Mahomes was methodical. Here’s hoping Allen will turn the corner as Mahomes has. Taken the short stuffs to move the chains.

What a difference a year make. Last year the pundits were dumping on Mahomes and that lit his fire. This year they’re dumping on Allen. It could be a blessing. We’ll find out what kind of fortitude Allen has.

1-4 sounds about right. Allen will have a chance to move up next season.

His biggest weakness is not having a hof at qb. Check his records without one.

He has for sure! It’s good to see Allen friends with the elite qb’s in the league. I’ve played golf for 20yrs+ and still struggle patience on the course. Haha

Completely disagree with this ‘hot’ take. The Chiefs will remain an obstacle for both the Bills and Bengals. Let’s hope it will be the Bills turn next season to challenge the Chiefs in the AFCCG.

They proved last year that as long as Kelce is option #1 it really doesn’t matter who the WR’s are. Dee Ford? I’m assuming you meant Frank Clark. He’s a good one especially in the playoffs. They signed an edge away from SF and drafted another in the first round. They’re going to be tough as defending champs. Yeah beating them in the regular season is exactly the problem. I’d trade those two meaningless regular season wins for a playoff one any day. Yup franchise LT that most teams viewed as a right tackle. I don’t think that’s as big a loss as most on here believe. He might get Burrow beat up. Which isn’t a bad thing. That receiving situation is all about Kelce. All the WR’s can be jag’s. Which they proved last season.

Not sure how KC’s roster is downgraded. They added depth on their Oline. Greatly improved their DLine. All their rookies from last year will have a year under their belts. And of course Mahomes and Kelce are still there. Very envious of what they’ve been able to do while supposedly tight on cap space.

Will the Chiefs finally cut ties with Mahomes over this?
