  1. I hope so. It seems like I say this every year, but Beane needs to hit a HR in this draft. We have had to many disappointing performances by the defense over the years in the playoffs. Let's hope that changes in 2025.
  2. Until they fix the defense, they aren't winning anything except the AFCE.
  3. Even though he turned out to be a POS I would say OJ's 2,003 yards rushing in just 14 games is another record that will never be broken. I don't care how many running backs rush for over 2,000 yards going forward. If they haven't done it in 14 games, then they didn't break OJ's record.
  4. They have but they have won more playoff games at home then they have lost with McDermott. Name a road playoff win with him as the coach. The Bills have one of the best home records in the league since McDermott became HC. The Bills have a much better chance to get to the Super Bowl if the games are played in OP.
  5. How about the Islanders 19 straight playoff series wins. They won 4 Cups from 80-83 and then reached the Finals in 84 when they finally lost to the Oilers in 5 games.
  6. For football I would include Jim Brown.
  7. Born on LI. I should be a Jets fan if I followed my dad when it came to football. My dad bought seasons to the Jets in Namath's rookie year. He started taking me to the games in the early 70's. I became a Bills fan because of OJ. I have no ties to WNY at all. For me it's the Bills, Islanders and Yankees.
  8. Isles fan here. I always wondered what Mike Bossy's numbers would have looked like if his career wasn't cut short by a bad back. He scored 50 or more goals in his first nine seasons including 60 or more in four of them. He scored 573 goals in just 10 seasons. His 10th season he missed time with a bad back and still managed 38 goals that year. If he could have been healthy and played as long as Wayne and Ovi, I wonder how close he could have gotten to 894/895.
  9. The Jets had some playoff teams in the mid 80's with O'Brien. When the Giants won the Super Bowl in the 86 season the Jets started 10-1 that year. There was talk of a NY-NY Super Bowl in the NYC area. But the Jets did what they do best and "Jets" the rest of the season losing their last 5 games of the regular season to finish 10-6. As for the Bills yes, they had OJ in the 70's but that decade was mostly a losing one.
  10. That doesn't count as the Bills treated it like a preseason game. I do think NE will better as Vrabel is a good coach.
  11. McDermott's teams are winless on the road in the playoffs. I would rather avoid the WC route and try to get the #1 seed.
  12. I think if he can score around 40 next season and finish the year with around 940 goals depending on many more goals, he gets this year then I could see him continuing to play to try for 1000.
  13. Isn't this supposed to be a weak draft class for QBs?
  14. Rich Cimini who covers the Jets is saying they are open to trading Hall if Jeanty is there at #7.
  15. Assuming he can fend off "Father Time" and still play at a high level for a few more seasons he could have a shot at 1000. The biggest thing is will he be able to continue to skate at the NHL level as his skating legs will be one of the first things to go as he gets into his 40's.
  16. To be fair they had some good runs along the way. Mid 80's with Ken O'Brien as their QB. Rex got them to the AFCCG in back-to-back years. Most of the time they have sucked. You could have said the same about the Bills before McDermott and Beane got here.
  17. Agreed. Now if its Cook for Wilson then that is a different story. Trades within the division rarely happen especially with really good players.
  18. They can still start the season the week after Labor Day. Instead of the Super Bowl being played on the 1st Sunday of February they can push it back to the 2nd or 3rd Sunday. February is a slow sports month anyway as all you have is the NHL/NBA regular season. The 18-game season was always going to happen as a 17-game season is just dumb. As far as overseas games the NFL is trying to grow the popularity of the game in other countries, and it looks like it is working. More $$$ for the league so they will continue doing this.
  19. Ovi already said he is coming back next season. If he can maintain his high level of play as he will be 40 next year, then I wonder if he continues playing for a few years after that to try and go for 1,000 goals.
  20. I was there. They should it was a wild scene. Fights everywhere in the stands as well.
  21. Just In: “It sounds like” new Jets HC Aaron Glenn wants to shift to an RB committee, per @RichCimini Cimini adds the Jets may be open to trading Breece Hall if Ashton Jeanty is available at 7th overall. “Hall is a gifted player who would attract interest if dangled in trade… pic.twitter.com/tpZQVHPXBg — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) April 6, 2025
  22. 4. Oct. 17, 1988 — Bills 37, Jets 14 The “Pumpkin Game” featured 41 incidents of improper behavior in the stands, 15 arrests and 56 ejections. Fans burned complimentary paper hats in the stands and batted around an inflated pumpkin. This game led to the stadium halting beer sales after halftime during night games.
  23. How far is Toronto away from Buffalo. If the commute isn't bad, then fans could show up at the draft and go back to Toronto and stay at a hotel there. Toronto is certainly a big enough market to help Buffalo with the amount of people who would show up for the draft.
