  1. I sort of agree, but he's so filthy rich that the golf set up is probably like you or I spending $100. Unless he runs out and buys a small jet, or a bunch of Ferraris/Lamborghinis/Rolls Royces (btw, did you see that apparently Tom Bradys daily driver vehicle is a RR?), or gets crazy and buys multiple houses/properties, I don't think he could spend even a third of his new found fortune.
  2. So I see that they had a 1-1 tie yesterday. Was that expected? IOW, should the US women have won that game?
  3. Harkening back to the “Ralph is cheap” years, what will T. Pegula do? One wonders….🤔
  4. You are correct. I should have prefaced my thought with "In my humble opinion", nobody is worth that much. And I'd guess that there are tens of millions of folks across the country who feel the same way.
  5. LOL. Being rich doesn’t necessarily mean that you are smart, and NFL owners definitely fall in to this group. Exhibit A would be the recent Ocean Gate deep sea implosion, which killed some dumb rich guys. Most people…even poor ones…would not have gotten inside that death trap for free, let alone paid $250k for the trip. And there are countless other examples, throughout history which demonstrate the same principle. Why do filthy rich people sometimes kill themselves by OD ing on drugs? Are they smart to do that?
  6. Right, they watch MNF, or TNF, or SNF, or the “Game of the Week” pretty much even if the teams suck. So again, owners get paid in any case. Has there ever been a year where the networks new TV contracts’ costs were LESS than the previous contracts? Has the price of SB commercials ever gone down? The point about attendance is that if you sell out every game, logically, an owner is going to make more money in tik sales and parking, and concessions vs if their attendance is low. But I’m saying that they come close to selling out every game, even if their team sucks, like the Bills did for 17 years, for example, so they (owners) STILL make bank.
  7. LOL. This is basically an ad for Full Swing. Saw very little of his basement, but it did look very similar to what you see at a large retail golf store.
  8. Please explain this take. Dont the owners make most of their money from TV and media contracts, and it doesn’t matter whether their team sucks or they are a top contender? Don’t teams that suck still have pretty good attendance? Didn’t the Bills have good attendance during the 17 year playoff drought?
  9. Nobody is worth that much. Owners are dumb saps.
  10. Yep, you’re 100% spot on. Not sure why somebody gave my post about it a thumbs down. 🙄 These multi millionaire earners should definitely pay their due, as should all mega rich people. Ironically, I’m a libertarian, so I would be all for massive reductions of all taxes, but as it stands today, it is what it is, and mega rich need to pay the tax man. 😉
  11. I just hope that all these multi millionaire athletes are paying their 37% federal income tax! 😉
  12. Not really. He doles out money to players like you and I hand out mini Milky Way bars on Halloween. 😉
  13. I have read through most, but not all, responses to the OP, and I am amazed at the number of people who are defending McD as if he's the second coming of Knute Rockne. The personal attacks on Einstein for simply posting up some intuitive facts are very disappointing too. McD (and Frazier) should have been fired after the 13 second debacle. As some folks (who do not have their Bills blinders on) have noted, his performance in playoff games has been mediocre at best. And if the Bills don't get to the SB THIS YEAR, he definitely needs to get the axe.
  14. Absolute and utter craziness. Owners are dumb.
  15. Right next to Tony Boselli? Oh, wait…..😂
  16. As this moves forward, I'm just curious if anybody can fly their drone near/over this site. FAA certainly wouldn't have a (good) reason to restrict the airspace, would they?
  17. To the OP: You, like I, are definitely "Old School", and you make some good points. This coming year, and maybe for the year after that, we shall see what JA17 does on the field. The latter will determine whether you are right, or just excessively worried about these young, rich athletes, who have it so much easier than most people in the world.
  18. And NO pool! YGBFKM.
  19. Heard that it was in Cabo...
  20. As time goes on, and we learn more about the Owner/CEO of Oceangate, it's downright scary how negligent that guy was regarding safety for his company. What's even more amazing is that he convinced loads of rich people to pay him exorbitant amounts of cash to get in that death trap, and go down 2 miles beneath the surface. Once again proves that rich people are not always as smart as we think they are/should be.
  21. Maybe, but accuracy is way, WAY more important. I saw PM play in person several times, and he had more than enough "zip" to get the ball in where it needed to go, and the accuracy of his passes was just outstanding, and as good as any QB ever.
  22. It has been a long time since my kids were in school, but I’m really confounded on how this hasn’t been the rule since day one (when cell phones became readily and easily accessible) in every school across the world. There is absolutely no good reason why a student would need a cell phone while in class….none. Students absolutely should not be allowed to carry them around all day. Maybe have a bin or basket in the front of each classroom, and they put them in there when they enter, and then get them after class ends?
  23. LOL. This is hilarious. What’s even more hilarious is that somebody else tagged your post as “awesome.” So this site has tens of thousands of users, and surely MANY people have a different opinion than you, but you’re stating here that when somebody has a different opinion than you, and you see that in the first sentence or two of somebody’s post, you “stop reading.” Uh huh, right. If somehow you are being honest/serious here, I can’t imagine any adult being so triggered to compel such a reaction on a public message board. You would be “not reading” a ton of posts in here, simply because somebody else’s opinion was different than yours. I guess some people….like you…enjoy going through life in an echo chamber, and that is perplexing and sad.
  24. Yep. That’s exactly what I said yesterday.
  25. This story once again mirrors what I said about Terry Pegula in the hot topic thread on the main board, about him re-upping Beane & McD when there was absolutely no need to do so, and that is that even though these guys (on this sub) were very wealthy, they weren't too smart. The LACK of proper QC/testing on the initial build, and especially, the ongoing maintenence & testing, of that vessel was stunning. Seems pretty clear that repeated trips down below weakened the hull/whole thing, and that caused it to go kablooey. A very sad situation, and totally preventable (with proper ongoing maintenance & testing/QC). Of course the latter costs money, and I'm not even sure the company had/has the proper hi tech tools needed to determine the structural integrity of the hull and other components. Titanic movie guy James Cameron says the same thing, but anybody breathing air with an IQ above 50 will come to the same conclusion.
