Sadly, more and more people are not even having kids. I have two daughters, both in their 30s, and it looks like neither of them is going to have children. Family “lineage” is dying out for a lot of families. Regarding the OPs question: Yes, I think so…and it won’t take 50,000 years. Zager and Evans called it in the 60s.

I went through that too, as I was a flyer in the USAF. Was done at Fairchild AFB in WA. I did mine in the mid 80s, back when military instructors had much more leeway to go all Full Metal Jacket DI crazy on you. LOL Hated when they beat on the box with a steel pipe when I was just trying to catch some Zzzzs in it. Then years later, the Bills are in the SB vs the Redskins and I’m stationed at Yokota AB, Japan. We were out, off base on a military exercise, but I had Monday off (SB aired on Monday morning because of the time difference). I had the bright idea that I wanted to be at my home…at my assigned military housing with my wife for the game. So I got permission to go home, rode the subway & trains to get back to my on base housing, I’m walking toward the gate, but I deduce that it would be shorter if I hopped the fence to make a straight line for me quarters. Bad idea. The MPs caught me and hauled me in. I was like..”I live here..How can I be breaking in to go home!?” LOL My supervisor (LtCol) had to come to the pokey and sign for me, so that I could go watch the Bills get wrecked by the Skins. Good times…

That has always been my biggest concern about self driving vehicles….non standard situations such as construction zones, ducks crossing the road, etc.

YouTube TV - NFL Sunday Ticket question
Bob Jones replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another thing is that a lot of people forget to figure in the cost of their internet too. Obviously, you MUST have a good/fast connection for a seamless streaming feed. No internet, no YouTube TV of any kind. -
YouTube TV - NFL Sunday Ticket question
Bob Jones replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
One thing to consider this year is that the Bills are probably going to only have 6 or 7 games that are not nationally televised (either over the air or on cable only). If you get the YT NFL ticket only (No YT base subscription, which btw is $73/month), it’s going to cost you $400! 😟 -
YouTube TV - NFL Sunday Ticket question
Bob Jones replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hoping that this will be true, because in past years watching games on those “pirated” streams was just awful, with many delays, drop outs, etc. -
On your first paragraph...100% agree. When I was riding, and was near other vehicles, I always, constantly, practiced "SIPDE." Scan (all around), Identify (possible dumb actions by other drivers), Predict (what they're going to do), Determine (what I needed to do to stay safe if they pulled a dumb move), and if need be, Execute (my move to be safe). Riding pretty much demands 100% concentration and continuous scanning (when you're near other vehicles). Now, if you're out in the country, and you can see for miles (flat lands), and nobody is around, let'er rip to 186mph....LOL. Other than a roller-coaster, there's nothing quite like going WOT and going from 0 to 100mph in about 6 seconds, and then continuing up past 170. We used to say it was the most fun you could have with your clothes on. 😂

I had been an avid mcy rider for 40+ years, which started with me & my friends riding mini bikes with Briggs & Stratton engines alongside the railroad tracks in the southtowns. LOL But 2 years ago I stopped riding....way too dangerous any more, with way too many distracted drivers out there.

Totally agree with this. The main gripe (other than the $$$, and isn’t it ALWAYS about the $$$...LOL) seems to be that he wasn't "legally adopted", but for all intents and purposes, he was adopted by that family. Sort of like a "common law marriage" situation. It is peculiar though that the family would actually write in their book that he was getting a cut of the movie profits, while in reality (according to the lawsuit) he was getting zilch. That makes no sense.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Bob Jones replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for reaffirming my point. NOTHING about that post is pejorative, or mean, or degrading, or in violation of the TOS. It’s just a different opinion than the groupthink. Also, I have never claimed to be a “victim”, and never will, and it’s laughable when somebody spews that out. I’m just telling you the facts of the matter. -

No, Einstein is absolutely correct. I’ve even had posts deleted in here and/or given warnings for simply not going along with the rose-colored glasses groupthink. I violated no written rules from the TOS, but just “rubbed someone the wrong way”, I guess. A recent example was in the post about Kim Pegula showing up at training camp. It is what it is, and it’s their ballgame, so they can censor whatever they want to. If you can’t recognize that about 90% of the posts in here are all “Bills players, coaches, and management can do no wrong”, you have cognitive dissonance. -
The link here is to the Bills vs Redskins SB, showing a bunch of obvious defensive pass interference fouls by the Skins, and none of them were called. I remember watching that game and yelling at the TV in disbelief that the refs were not calling those fouls. At halftime, running into the locker room, Marv Levy seeks out a ref and repeatedly tells him "You've been bought." I agree.

I'm pretty sure that there definitely would be a noticeable difference in cost....for building the same thing....in NY vs in Tennessee. Cost of doing business in NY is higher for various/obvious reasons. -
NY residents. https://scri.siena.edu/2023/05/16/hochul-favorability-rating-negative-for-first-time-40-45-majority-say-hochul-hard-working-split-on-both-effective-and-strong-leader/#:~:text=Her job approval rating slid,corrupt%2C 47-26%.

Actually, many years ago, I was on my way to getting a Masters degree in Public Administration, but something else came up in my life, and unfortunately I never finished it. I did get about 75% through it though, so I attended & completed many “civics” courses. LOL The bottom line is that as of right now, VERY FEW people know the real reason why Ron R. was fired, and certainly no keyboard warrior here at TBD knows. My statements about Hochul and her shortcomings are still valid.
-
Of course, and Ron R. wasn’t the only one on the Bills side of the table. But the story said that Hochul was the one who was miffed/upset (they actually quoted her). Again, Hochul had little to no experience in these types of deals, yet she was speaking negatively about a Bills rep (if the leaked details are true). Maybe the Bills’ side (everybody) was playing “hardball”, which is a very normal COA in these types of matters, especially IF you hold the upper hand, and the Bills definitely did in this matter. Maybe Hochul interpreted the hardball tactics as rude? Who knows. From everything I’ve read about Ron R., his profile doesn’t fit with what Hochul said.
-
Hochul strikes me as an incompetent hack, so there’s that. Her only experience in the real business world was that she worked (for a short time…a couple years) as a government relations executive for M&T Bank. So obviously she was NOT someone well versed or experienced in making these kinds of deals.
-
Didn’t they wait MANY months before doing that? Just talking about the Bills here…

This is the text I found odd: “No way in hell they’re going to let people see her or make her available.” If she was willing to go out IN PUBLIC, and apparently it was known that she was there, why not let people see her? I mean, I guess if somebody had binoculars, and was at the proper angle to her vehicle, they could have gotten a look at her. Going by drummernut74’s take, why didn’t they just hide the fact that she was there? The whole situation with her, from the day she just disappeared from the scene, has been handled really badly, IMHO. And all under the guise of “give her privacy.” Presidents of billion dollar organizations are normally not given that luxury. Edit to Add: Had she NOT been President of the Bills, then I would agree that it would have been “nobody’s business”, as she would have just been a spouse of the owner, but…she was President of a billion dollar organization, very visible in the organization, and then poof, she’s gone for 6 months before anybody knows what happened. It was just very strange and perplexing.

This is an odd take. Is she still in such “bad shape” that she can’t be seen (photographed) in public? If that’s the case, that is very sad.
