Ed Oliver is such a threat with pressure up the middle that opposing offenses run 2 RB formations at all time to help their QB. Epenesa and Solomon get a combined 16 sacks where they're basically untouched. Milano and Bernard are the best LB tandem in the NFL with a combined 30 INT's, sacks, and forced fumbles. The secondary capitalizes on the intense pressure with 20 picks, 8 of which are returned for touchdowns and Elam emerges as a Marcus Peters type big play threat. Cole Bishop becomes one of the best safeties in the NFL and the Bills are known as the most desirable place for all safeties. My thoughts - A QB of Allen's caliber can elevate a WR group - In today's NFL (and basically all periods of the NFL) I prefer to look at it is the full pass catching group and not just WR's - Between Kincaid and Knox, I feel that you have two very good options - Shakir and Samuel are legit good in my opinion. My only fear is that your 4 most proven pass catchers are probably best as slot/tight end positions - Coleman is unproven but he's a bigger body guy who at least seems to have the right attitude. If he could even fill the Gabe Davis role, I think you can get by - Call me crazy but I think either MVS, Claypool, or Hollins will be a regular factor/threat Is it better than last year? I don't really know. Diggs is really really good and was the focus of a lot of defensive gameplans. Kincaid should take a jump. A healthy Knox will at least give us more options. Shakir is ascending. He'll never be a superstar but he will be a big factor.

Von and Elam are good answers but I actually have a good amount of confidence in both. Elam hopefully doesn't have to have a massive role (although with injuries he'll see plenty of time either way) and I think Von won't play up to the contract but I think he'll be much much more productive. Bass is a good answer I considered James Cook. I think both Ray Davis and Ty Johnson could keep Cook off the field on 3rd downs and hurry up situations. He might be the most dynamic player we have but he puts the ball on the turf too frequently. I love Cook and want him on the field constantly but I'm not positive he will be. But maybe that will also be because Davis and Johnson are more than solid. I also considered Dion Dawkins. For some reason, I see him as a guy who once his play falls off, it falls off a cliff. But I'll go Matt Milano. With how unforthcoming they've been about his injury, I just am skeptical he's going to come back as the player he was. This is to no fault of Milano, I just think that could be more of a hole in the defense than we're expecting. I definitely hope I'm wrong.

The Bengals will be a threat assuming they're healthy with the last place schedule. But I can't pick against the Chiefs. That said I'm picking the Bills

He's more proven than Solomon obviously but if you're looking for a strictly pass rush guy, I'll take the low priced rookie

You aren't touching QB or TE obviously. With the drafting of Davis I don't think you're touching RB either. I'm sure any coach would tell you they want more depth on the o-line and d-line but I think you're pretty solid there too especially with the drafting of Carter and VPG and the various March signings. It's McD so you can never rule out a LB signing especially if Milano has any sort of health concerns. But I more so see them going after a special teams type guy who is a generally meaningless salary hit if they're going to look at a LB. Edwards, Bishop, Rapp seem to be the safeties which is good enough especially if they let Bishop play from day 1. Plus Hyde is always possible. I know safety is important in McD's system but not sure they make a move until they know for sure Hyde's status. You can always use pass rushing depth but it seems like they're really betting on Von being significantly better. I do hope Solomon gets a roster spot. He can be a situational pass rusher. So for me the two spots that could use attention are WR and CB. WR - I really like Shakir and Samuel because you can move them around and scheme them. I really like both of them but neither are good enough that you feel good about it if they're lining up against someone like Sauce Gardner every snap. But since you can move them around and Brady actually seems to be creative, I think they're a solid 1/2. Then you have Coleman who I think will have some blow up games and some invisible games just like Gabe Davis. But that trio is pretty good. Plus I think Kincaid will lead the team in targets and catches assuming he's healthy all year. So yeah you could definitely use more depth but you aren't signing another possession WR and it seems like they have already added some deep threat options. So I wouldn't touch the free agent options. If a trade is possible for an Aiyuk type player, of course I take a look. CB - Douglas and Benford on the outside. Taron on the inside. That's pretty good although you always worry about Taron's concussions. Douglas can play while banged up but he is aging a bit too. Elam is the wild card here. I love that they haven't given up on him yet. But there just isn't much out there after him. I admittedly don't know much about the available free agent CB's or even the trade market but this is probably my biggest concern heading into next season.

This is a cop out answer but I'd say any of the turnstile offensive lineman "protecting" Josh over the years. Last year was such a relief.

I think Coleman will be inconsistent. Assuming Shakir and Samuel split time in the slot, that leaves Coleman most consistently matched up against the opposing top outside CB. That's going to be tough for him most Sundays. But I think Brady will scheme him up enough that he'll have his moments. Bishop is a guy that may need time to earn the trust of McD but I hope he gets the keys from day 1. Mainly because I think Rapp is best as a 3rd safety and I don't want to see Hamlin out there. Carter will get reps and I think he's going to be pretty good even if the stat sheet isn't stuffed Davis is going to play a lot. Especially if Cook doesn't clean up fumbles/drops. Even though I think Cook's hands are better than he gets credit for, you can't afford any slip ups. Davis also may save some tread on Josh's tires early in the season. VPG is the guy I most hope explodes. If he starts, it trickles down all across the o-line. I hope they give him every chance possible. The others - who knows. Solomon could be a situational guy. The others I like their upside but it's still a good roster and hard to make the 53.

If you weren't going to double dip on WR on day 2, I love the approach this draft except for maybe should have gotten a CB

I know there are holes to fill especially for a defensive coach but if they go get another WR here after trading down twice, this is an A+ draft

Physical tools, young, hard worker, seems to embrace the challenge. Good culture fit. He has work to do. He won't be a #1 from week 1 or even week 10. But I like it.

I think you should be able to get Deebo for relatively cheap in terms of trade compensation. You can always make it work cap wise. I do think your WR room gets a little redundant but Deebo is good and you'd still be drafting a WR tonight in my opinion. I'd rather have Aiyuk but I would assume the 49ers would rather have him too

I mean it always depends on the trade terms but I'd take Deebo. Especially in Joe Brady's offense

What would you be willing to give up for Aiyuk if he came with a 4 year 100M extension that kicks in after this season?

DeJean would be awesome. He really would. I'd rather get the WR here and then see if DeJean falls another 5 or 6 spots and then get aggressive with a trade up. Would much rather miss out on the safety/CB than the WR run.

Agree. And even though Diggs sucked at the end of the year he did take attention off Shakir, Kincaid, Knox, etc. They still need to add a starter to the WR room. But in Joe Brady's offense, I'm not sure you need a top 8 WR to succeed.

Let's see what happens in the draft or even with further trades. I'm not currently concerned. He was less vital with Joe Brady. Shakir is emerging (but no he'll never be a dominant #1), Kincaid is going to be really good, and there is extra draft ammunition to move way up if we want.
