So Who will our next DC be? Tracker Links
nosejob replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's exactly what will happen. Holcomb will be his assistant and that's it. I bet McD wants to prove that he can make this a playoff defense and I'm hoping and believing it will be a much more aggressive one. -

Yep. He's got Holcomb to fire up players on the sideline. They knew all along they weren't gonna give Frazier a new contract and this was the best exit. If they were gonna actually look for a new DC, they wouldn't have waited this long. I'm okay with McD calling the Defense. -

That game was an absolute embarrassment to me as a FAN. Conditions and footing being sloppy, what better time to get your hands on the WRs at the line and knock off the timing. Elam and Tre CAN play press. They did it well against the Fins when they called it. That Cincy game looked like it was rigged....not saying it was, just looked scripted. -

Joe Marino Locked on Bills regarding DL

I saw some of the things the Niners would do like pulling an end around a DT allowing an inside rush lane. Here I think we would benefit by putting Shaq and Boogie inside once in a while and basically play a 5-2-4. Playing that zone nickel takes away a lot of flexibility to do different things. It's old, stale and very predictable.....just like the coach. -
I got a gut feeling about Jarrett becoming a Diggs. I like this draft but seems like most have Jones in the first 3rd of the 2nd rd. If we could move down to one to the Bears, Texans or Cards 2nd, maybe we can pick up a high 3rd and or 4th plus, who knows.

Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem
nosejob replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I won't be shocked....probably laughing. I would have targeted the Bears or Lions last year for high picks rds. 2-4 in some way. I had my eye on Christian Harris LB from Alabama. Looks like the LB class is better this year. -

Last year 124 tackles 6 sacks 5 pdef. 2 ints. Would we ever see this from Edmunds? -
Besides the back issue, he did have 2 different line coaches in 2 years. I hope he gets his mojo going, I'd like to see him succeed. I just don't know if the right side is his best (natural) side. Could Dion play the right side, or look a lot worse? I can't see them signing 2 big names in FA so I'd rather they get Powers and I'd be fine with DW at 27.

Gabe Davis seems to be quite the whipping boy this year. I've been wanting to do some research but IIRC, wasn't he battling a calf or ankle injury most of the year?....not to mention drawing more coverage after last year's playoffs? Let's not bite off our noses of here. -
Plus he has quite a bit of time at right guard.

We had quite a daunting schedule this year opening on the road against the champs, then Tenn., to heat stroke in Miami and finished with 3 losses totaling 8 pts. We had crazy adverse events and still got to host 2 playoff games at home. Then McFrazier happened.

I'm guessing Cowboys or the Steelers, probably the former most likely to pay stupidly.

That would be a pleasant surprise.

That was the worst half timeI show I 've ever seen. Wow

Daboll/Hodgins - Does their success bother you?
nosejob replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Injured early on? It',s like Morris can be a slippery TE and a great receiver but because he's not a big name or down on the depth chart....another Hodgins that will be in NY next year making plays. -

What pisses me off is that he was on the p.s. with the likes of those who, nobody ever heard of and will never play in the league. couldn't they have protected him?...and why would they have not activated him prior to signing Brown? -
Khalil Shakir / answer for WR 2 / Makes Sports Illustrated
nosejob replied to Figster's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point I wouldn't be mad if they took Jones at 28....or Branch... or Rice. ..( have no idea who will be there). I'm gonna trust them as long as they don't trade from 59 to 70 something for a 7th round pick. None to happy last year with the trade downs. IMO it wouldn't hurt to use next year's picks to move up....not in the 1st, but for Pete's sake drafting 28th in every round is a beeyatch. However, if they can trade down from 28 to Chicago, the Texans or Cards and get a 4th and 5th at the top of those rounds, that'd be cool. -

I'm never against them upgrading talent, but what could have Isaiah Hodgins possibly done vs. keeping some of the other no names on the p.s.? Couldn't they have protected him? WR seems to be the one area where I think they'll build one hell of a unit this year. If we hit on one draft pick, cut the fat and maybe sign a FA,....or not, we'll be fine. Slot receiver don't mean much ( and I'm all in on Shakir) if Allen can't control the home run itch....and I'm hoping Dorsey matures and reigns this in. Oline, WR, safety and possibly finding a Dareus somewhere in the draft would be great. I know this may be the wrong thread, but I would be looking to trade down with the Bears or Texans who have plenty of picks and try to get a high end 4th and fifth. ...ie 28 to the Texans for 34? and the 2nd pick in the 4th and 5th? Maybe either take Noah Sewell who'll be the next Junior Seau or Dewand Jones and move Dion. I get it, he may not wanna play RT, but he should at least slide inside. Edmunds isn't Roquan, Warner or even Bolton. I rather use that money elsewhere. I digress...
