Well the flicker buys time for John Brown to run down the sideline and a pitch out to Knox who throws it to DIggs for 30 and a TD....Damn, I feel like Henry Winkler in the Waterboy.....

I'd really like to see some progress with being able to break opponents backs with the short game. Dumpoffs, screens, reverses....heck , how about a flea flicker or some trickery. I thought maybe Dorsey would be along these lines, but not so much...yet. Please post observations. .....And if we fall to 0-3 in the division.....this is a must win, then we got 10 days to reset for a home game.

What's gonna be interesting is watching the Hoodie junior with his mullet making Chucky faces.

Seems like every time I watch Josh drop back ( on TV), there's always a back open at the top of the screen. He has to learn to pull the trigger on those quickly before it's a wasted 4th read and a loss of what could have been a positive play.

I agree but playing Klein in 4-3 on early downs to kill the run is a must to force them to throw. We can't be giving up 4/5 yds a carry for 1st downs.

Rochester First: Eric Washington gives DL uncommon freedom
nosejob replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem I see with DTs not occupying, it allows the Guards to get to the 2nd level, take out Tremaine, neutralize Milano and steamroll T.Johnson. Stevenson is 227 lbs. and you can bet they are gonna be hellbent on doing that. However, if they play 4-3, DTs attacking is ok...and rotating blitzing a LB will keep those guards from getting out there and allow for more quick stops, TFLs, pressures and sacks. My 2 cents. -
Whatever, I still would have been asking what would it take?

Cmon people....the reason this defense has basically sucked is because it's not an attacking defense. It's a zone/ prevent/ rush 4, stale ass defense. For the love of God, everyone will pork Dorsey in a NY minute but put up with the same 1990 defensive game plan and praise it. Great coaches change when trends change. McD I hope has this epiphany sooner than later. He's the head dog and he needs to realize that like now. There is no more scrutinizing coordinators or sub coaches. That ship has sailed. McD has to take control and be his own man, sink or swim, lose or win. He definitely needs to start by running the defense. We can be feared or we can be predictable.,

I am praying for it this year, but I think this team may have one more year of building, such as OLine and a few other pieces. Like I said, I'm praying for this year, but I voted championship game. No matter what happens, after another off season, we will be unstoppable.....for years. When you think about where we are compared to this time last year, I sure ain't gonna complain. If we get on a run, oh yeah....

I agree with this. As a fan for 49 years, I love seeing them have a winning season. Last year was 13 seconds. This year is different. Every year is different. I'm grateful for not having to look at draft prospects by Thanksgiving. You just never know what can happen before the playoffs start. That being said, I really do think K.C. will get beat in the 1st rd. and once we kick Miami's ass in the Ralph, it's game on. I don't like to count the chickens.....but at least I know we'll be in the royal rumble.

Wow, I can barely remember what I had for dinner last night....although I do remember in the 70's weed was 20 bucks an ounce. I actually became a fan when I was 10 on the day O.J. broke the record.....for rushing by a RB, not homicides.

Yeah I didn't look up Smith's cost salary wise, but IIRC, it was a 4th round pick? I'd have done that in a heartbeat.
-
Thank God A.J. Klein is back. I guarantee he will make a big difference filling in....already has. (9 tackles, 1 for loss and dropping Swift on Lions final drive) I think Bernard and Spector have a good future, but we really should have kept Klein from the get go. It wasn't a huge deal money wise. edit: However I do wish we'd have jumped on Roquain Smith.(sp?)

It is because of the refusal to be able to play a defense other than nickel. Teams with a decent OL and power back will run over the nickel corner all day long. I had hoped we learned that lesson from last year. Giving up over 150....let alone 200 plus on the ground should put somebody on thin ice. You couldn't find 2 more opposite games then us vs. Pats last year. The 3 pass game and the playoff game. This upcoming game will tell everyone everything about this coaching staff.

I believe as of the Browns game, we were no.2 in the league in allowing the longest drives. Refusing to blitz is maddening. Hopefully after McD's convo with Frazier on the sideline during the Browns game things will change in terms of pass rush. Having starters out makes an extra rusher a no brainer.

IMO, the Hoodie's gonna try to find success by either...getting another performance from Jones like Thursday's, or run over Taron Johnson all day if the Bills are gonna commit to nickle. (see also last year). If Edmunds is in they need to run a 4-3 and rotate blitzing a LB on every play....unless it's 3rd and long and they want to send Johnson. The main point being that they need to lay the wood to Alfred E. Jones and get him all red in the face and such right off the bat. A.J. Klein is gonna end up saving our butts at points. I am so glad he's back. They should be able to play man with safety help on Parker.

Ok, I'll be the one to say it. Post the video..... edit: forgot the premise of the thread.....

Well if anyone watched the last couple of games of us making the QBs look like Brady and Manning, I think the answer is obvious. We play teams with one good receiver and they get damn near 200 yds....ummm yeah, I would guess dialing up some pressure would be in order. As a matter of fact, I think this subject may have been covered.

I like Mike Love. I believe he can bring some speed. May not hurt to have Zimmer in the rotate either.

i wouldn't be surprised if at some time they take a look at Alec Anderson at RG. They said during camp and pre season that he doesn't lose his matchups. 6'5 310?
