Because of the "Trap Game Police" we're no longer allowed to use that terminology. If you want to convey that concept you have to refer to it as "a possible upset game." If you want to expand on the concept you're allowed to say things like "the Bills could possibly let their guard down" or some such language. Nudes of... the fellas? I wonder when the last time it was that the Bills took a commercial flight. Wait till after the game when everyone starts wondering when they'll be "stateside." 6:30 am start here in Cali... beer in my Rice Krispies!!!

Great post... thank you Shaw. IMO this team is better than the 2021 team which should have gone to the Super Bowl.

A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
Sierra Foothills replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, in spite of the resounding blowout the Bills still left some meat on the bone. This O-line and Defense is the best of the McDermott era which means that this is the best Bills team of the McDermott era,,, better than the 13 seconds team for sure. -
I'm not gonna post in your topic if you're gonna be angry and use swear words.

Shut up stupid face!!! Let's try to stick to football. You leave @Ethan in Cleveland out of this! Shouldn't your last name also start with a "J"? Wrong forum...

And after Dorsey is hired away as a Head Coach.

IMO there are always players who transcend the value of their position. I'm hoping O'Cyrus Torrence will be one of the great draftees in recent Bills history and thinking he's well on that path. Con(n)or has been a very solid addition. I'm liking Van Demark and Anderson too. I like going with younger guys with upside as opposed to retreads. This appears to be the Bills best O-line in many years.

The Quarterback Push Play and Josh Allen

Yes. It was mentioned in the 5th post on this topic... and a few times afterwards. -

The Quarterback Push Play and Josh Allen
Sierra Foothills replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Following up on this topic, 2 significant developments in the "QB Push Play" popularized by the Eagles: Justin Herbert and the Chargers attempted it today and failed... in a crucial late-game situation. The Bills executed what might have been the first-ever "Reverse QB Push Play." Josh handed the ball to James Cook and then followed him into the line of scrimmage. Cook was initially stonewalled and it was clearly Josh's push which made the difference. Nance/Romo commented on the play and mused that this might be the first time ever and that it could cause a copy cat trend. I have misgivings about the QB Push Play because no matter how low the QB gets, there's always a chance that a defensive player will take a cheap shot at the QB. With a player like Josh Allen, I'm uneasy about taking that risk. I could see a further development in the Reverse QB Push Play where Latavius Murray or one of the RBs shifts under center into the Wildcat spot and Josh pushes him in... it's the next logical step. -
Ja’Mar Chase: “I’m open. I’m always ****ing open”
Sierra Foothills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thank you. Yes, there's a lot of good energy between our teams and cities that started with the Dalton to Boyd TD that beat the Ravens and gave McDermott his first playoff berth as Bills coach... and the ensuing donations to Dalton's charity. I appreciated Zack Taylor's humanity when Damar went down. I always want to beat our rivals but harbor no ill will towards the Bengals. -
And when he tries to do too much he hurts the team.

An interesting quirk in today's NFL Schedule: Denver 0-3 @ Chicago 0-3 Minnesota 0-3 @ Carolina 0-3 These are the NFL's last 4 winless teams.

NFL Head Coaching Candidates 2024 & Beyond~SI
Sierra Foothills replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
The following current Bills Assistant Coaches are former NFL Offensive Coordinators: Rob Boras Tight Ends Rams Joe Brady Quarterbacks Panthers Aaron Kromer Offensive Line Bears Mike Shula Senior Offensive Assistant Bucanneers/Panthers/Giants In addition, the Bills Offensive Quality Controls Coach is Kyle Shurmer who holds 6 Vanderbilt University passing records and spent 3 years in the NFL as a backup QB. He has been in coaching for 3 years. Shurmur's father is longtime NFL Coach Pat Shurmur (Head Coach of the Browns and Giants) and his Uncle is Fritz Shurmur the longtime NFL Defensive Coordinator. Probably the Bills have more offensive expertise on their coaching staff than most if not all the other NFL teams. -
Schefter: Von to resume practicing this week
Sierra Foothills replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
To add to the discussion, Von previously tore his ACL on December 22, 2013. Ten months later in October 2014 he won AFC Defensive Player of the Month for getting 14 sacks in 4 games. -
McD much better D coordinator than Frazier
Sierra Foothills replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
I always felt it was more McDermott respecting Frasier's autonomy than Frasier running the defense that McDermott wanted. I believe McDermott wants to allow his coaches to coach... sometimes to his own detriment. And you were expecting??? Even outside of sports, workplaces take on the personality of their leader. I don't think there's any question that McDermott's intensity is making a big difference. In addition the defensive players are now being directly supervised by the head guy. That makes a difference too. To spare Frasier's pride and dignity the Bills concocted this exit strategy and the media played along. No one was fooled by the leave of absence story however there was nothing to be gained by refuting it. -

Joe Namath wants Jets to clean house & start over
Sierra Foothills replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Mark Sanchez also... he was 5th overall in 2009. -
Myles Garrett is a wrecking ball... as good of a pass rusher as there is in the league today. And he did that on several occasions... I bet his O-linemen loved getting charged for a sack when he could have easily flipped the ball out of bounds for an incompletion... but that would have hurt his stats.

Matt Ryan's breakdown of White's INT was good. Credit goes to White also... while he did not flip his hips he bellied away from the route long enough to bait Howell into the throw. He gave away room and then closed quickly. McDermott was saying last week that Tre is getting really close to being back to his All-Pro self. We'll need it against Miami this weekend.

Dan Orlovsky on the Bills Offense Yesterday
Sierra Foothills replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for posting. I'll condense it in a table below. The counter-argument is that the so-called "Bend but don't Break" Defenses are based on making the offense run many plays to drive the field and score. The idea is that most offenses can't do so for various external or internal reasons. Most experts agree that chunk yardage is a necessary component of an efficient offense. So it's not either/or... it's a healthy balance. You guys make the point that some are missing. Thank you. Here's a condensed list: % of Offensive Snaps in Shotgun Formation Las Vegas (lowest in NFL) 52.44 Detroit 52.50 Dallas 55.86 San Francisco 60.38 League Average 67.49 Green Bay 68.53 Buffalo 73.85 Cincinnati 77.34 Kansas City 78.86 Philadelphia (highest in NFL) 88.73 -
Week 4, Bills favored by 3 over Dolphins
Sierra Foothills replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. McDermott often speaks of "complementary football." The offensive strategy might have more to do with time of possession than simply scoring. Who do you want Rapp to play in place of? As far as the matchup, if one believes (as McDermott does) that games are won and lost in the trenches, then the Bills should win.
