Did we already miss the window with Josh
RoscoeParrish replied to BritishBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
For comparison sake, the Eagles beat the Bucs without completing a pass in the second half. The Eagles beat the Rams with negative passing yards in the first half. There is no QB asked to do more with less than Josh Allen. Our Super Bowl strategy is hope Josh goes nuclear for a month and hope the rest of the team doesn’t fall apart badly enough to ruin it. Not really sure where the value add is from elsewhere.. -
Not really sure what this is trying to say. every single one of those years, things that reared their ugly head in those 2 game stretches was part of the reason we didn’t win the Super Bowl that year. It remains to be seen if that is the case this year. But outside of folks overreacting that we are going to miss the playoffs or something silly now, I’m not sure the point. We may not win a Super Bowl again, maybe because our defense and pass catchers aren’t good enough.

This is now 2 years in a row where he’s clearly the best WR of overall underwhelming bunch with a future hall of fame QB throwing him the ball behind an elite OL, and he’s again on pace for 747 yards. I don’t think Shakir is bad. I think he’s a plus player. I don’t think it’s crazy to think this is as good as he’s gonna be on this team.

Not even close. Brady wasn’t the one on the radio talking about not needing more offensive talent.

I’m not sure he’s even cleared to practice health wise

We will never win a Super Bowl with Joe Brady
RoscoeParrish replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Joe Brady got the job because he ran the offense McD wanted. I think the end around stuff has gotten old and some of our heavy sets have gotten stale. I won’t pretend there is nothing to criticize. But teams are just manning us up, bringing run blitzes, and daring us to beat them. We can’t beat man coverage without Josh breaking out of structure. And we are so ineffective at beating man, that teams will just spy or run a delayed blitz that eliminates Josh’s legs. Brady is no savant but he’s more a product of his players than a completely unskilled OC. -
Beane and McD are perfectly aligned in philosophy surrounding team building. It is futile imo to parse out their responsibility. Beane gets the players McD wants or who fit what McD wants to do. They are joined at the hip. Saying it’s all Beane’s fault or McD’s fault is not close to the truth. They both deserve the credit and the blame imo.

I legitimately think Babich will be fired this week and McD will take over the defense. It’s aggressive but I think they were giving him to the bye. It feels like every week, the defense comes out sloppy and unfocused and misaligned for the 1st half. It has become unacceptable, even to McD imo.

In fairness to Keon, I have no doubt he was tearing up Tre White all offseason. That’s just not the caliber of CB he’s going to face consistently in the NFL regular season.
-
Hard to believe the GM of a team trotting out Tyrell Shavers at WR would scoff publicly at any need to upgrade the room. Keon is a ghost and Shakir, while very good, isn’t good enough to be the focal point. It certainly appears like last year’s offense was the stars aligning with scheme and career years out of guys like Mack and Ty Johnson. And unfortunately, that’s hard to replicate.

Oh ok… let’s just stay content with Tre ******* White.

The Upcoming Trade Deadline: 2025 Edition
RoscoeParrish replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
We need to go all in. Burrow hurt, Ravens 1-4, Chiefs as beatable as they ever been. It’s time to start taking future draft picks and make some moves for some dudes. If I’m Beane, the time is now. He’s got to deviate from the build from within. Will we ever get another year with a down Ravens, Chiefs, Bengals and a healthy Josh? Take a chance on acquiring legit talent right now -
A Few Thoughts about the Pats Game - Post yours as well

McBeane should be blown up if we go out again in the playoffs in similar fashion to years past. Our weaknesses from the past few seasons remain. We have the same problems that prevented us from getting over the hump in the past and almost certainly will again. What is different this time? -

Amazing game and great comeback, but overall I don’t think we should feel great about yesterday. We have known Josh is elite and he proved that again yesterday. The defense is still flawed and needs to improve if we are going to win it all. It’s week 1 and hopefully things change/improve, but to me we looked like the same team, with the same strengths and weaknesses as last year and in our playoff exits. -

We will win the division and get knocked out in the playoffs to KC or Baltimore again. This is the same team. -

How can your third round pick be a healthy scratch? Especially when it’s at a position group that is a known weakness and desperate need -

Ideal is absolutely winning it all with McD and putting this all to rest. He is a good coach and I think a good guy, and if he was ever let go in Buffalo, I wouldn’t have a bad thing to say about his time here. Better coaches than McD haven’t had the special touch to put together a championship run and he deserves massive credit for his work in turning around the Bills. I also believe he would be an upgrade for a lot of teams in the NFL and not a coach I’d want to see in the division. I guess to me, McD’s OC hiring track record is that 50% of them end up fired and 25% of them have been fired midseason because the season was on the ropes and we were .500 in November. So when we are talking about a gamble of letting McD go, we also need to consider the gamble of McD hiring the next OC if Brady is gone. That seems obvious to me.

It would be 2.5 years at that point of being a very good OC and a very good fit for Josh Allen. He’s still a McD disciple when it comes to the culture in the building. It’s not like it’s hiring a complete outside voice. I don’t see what the gamble is, honestly. The offense is still very very very good and maybe the defense still plays very poorly in the playoffs against the Chiefs? Maybe the defense is a little worse in the regular season too? Do you consider that some massive gamble? Or any more of a gamble than losing Brady and possibly hiring the next Ken Dorsey who needs to be fired midseason to prevent missing the playoffs? Joe Brady may get half as long as McD has had to win a SB in Buffalo. 3-4 years?
