  1. FWIW, 2019 wasn’t that pass happy and there are a fair amount of similarities, including the best WR on the team being a very good slot guy.
  2. It’s not really trying to twist your words. Isn’t the point of Cover 2 making those throws low probability? By having an extra deep defender, who maybe makes the offense hold the ball a second or two late on a throw, in time for the pass rush to get home? Isn’t the best way to strategically beat Cover 2 to be methodical and take open checkdowns aka what the defense gives you? I feel like you really argued against yourself here, strategically and statistically. Offense was a second a late, pass rush got home, incomplete.
  3. So basically what you are saying is because of the way defenses play us, throwing a 40 yard ball to a slot WR is a low percentage play?
  4. Is Allen the only QB who heaves the ball downfield or throws it away?
  5. The play didn’t work. You keep arguing you take the TD every time, but the reality is that when we went for the TD, on a low percentage pass to a slot WR, we didn’t get it, it left us in 3rd and long and we lost. I would argue the reality of the situation has decided that was the wrong play.
  6. We didn’t score a TD. I would say a very good reason to not attempt a low percentage TD pass is because it’s a low percentage TD pass.
  7. Brissett in Indy land? CJ Bethard or Nick Mulldog in SF?
  8. Dang, I think I figured out who I missed but I won’t ruin it for the next person

  10. Is this a list of QBs who had the most starts in 2017 or as of 2017?
  11. They should be “honorable” and fulfill the contract they signed, not terminate it early.
  12. That’s why he’s so skinny. There’s no food at the facility. Kincaid has been living off saltines and coffee.
  13. Does it say how many snaps Kincaid pass blocked in? I don’t remember many but I could be very wrong
  14. Is this your MO or something? Very bizarre to argue something for 3 pages to end with “who knows if he’d get the same salary as the other guy.”
  15. You keep saying the successor is going to “demand” the exact same compensation, now you want to move off it. You can’t defend this position. It’s obvious. You don’t actually think that Goodell in his first year as commissioner made the exact same as Tagliabue did in year 17. Because it’s really silly to think.
  16. Because he otherwise doesn’t get the job and can stay being the assistant to the regional manager for comparative pennies? This isn’t the football side of things. It’s not like the QB market where there’s only 12 guys on the planet worth paying. There are lots of executives and lawyers that would kill to be commissioner. When Goodell got hired, I don’t think he was saying “pay me what Tags was making or I refuse to accept the job and will instead make 100k as the assistant to the President of the AFC.” You take what they give you.
  17. I don’t know. Why does a junior partner make less than a senior partner, even when they “do the same job?”
  18. I feel like once you reach like double digit Bills invites, you have to invite them all, right? Maybe it’s different in the NFL, but like what’s an extra 30 plus guests? Pat Dimarco, he’s Josh’s favorite deep threat.
  19. It depends on how many owners. What if Terry LOVED the idea of Dean Blandino as deputy commissioner. But Jerry Jones and a couple others did not? Ultimately, we know how that goes. There are 31 billionaires all politicking and forming voting blocs and rivalries etc etc. The NFL ownership is not a monolith. That’s the whole point of the commissioner. He has 31 bosses and they may not all agree. Heck, maybe only one of them is the one who cares about this succession plan and the other 30 are happy to ride the gravy train. You are oversimplifying.
  20. Um that’s what the reporting is in the OP. Are we saying the reporting is false that the owners want a succession plan? Or that the reporting is false that heir apparents get pushed out?
  21. Yeah imo, they basically took a long EDGE who was going to be a 2-3 sack per year clean up guy at most, and turned him into a situational pass rusher capable of having quite a bit more sacks come in bunches. Hard to say that was ideal but the corollary is that he’s probably a slightly better Boogie Basham if he didn’t reshape himself.
  22. That’s why they want someone younger learning from Goodell now. This isn’t unusual in any industry. The whole reason Goodell keeps forcing out “heir apparents” is to make himself indispensable. It’s why Favre didn’t want to teach Rodgers. Why train your eventual replacement?
  23. His bosses are the owners, they can do whatever they want. Their age is irrelevant. He works for them. They want some younger version waiting in the wings. Are you trying to argue that a new commissioner would make as much as Goodell? Do you think Silver made as much as Stern did when he took over in the NBA? More importantly, do you think Deputy Commissioners make even close to a 10th that the commissioners make? They would take less because it would still be a considerable pay raise from their current offer. Goodells successor isn’t holding out because they are only gonna pay them $30M
  24. Because he’s 66 and they can play a younger guy likely less.
