Bills only better be trading back if they are 100% certain no other team is going to go after the receiver they are targeting. Way to big a gamble and miss out and have to go into the season with maybe the worst WR group in the NFL.

Only option 4 seems reasonable to me. If we somehow go out of the first 2 rounds without a WR in a class that's 1)the deepest its been at the position in recent years, and 2) The absolute biggest positional need on the team in recent years, it just feels like a massive failure. Trading for another vet just makes me think getting rid of Diggs was a costly mistake
-
The worry is that we replace Gabe Davis with...Gabe Davis or worse, another slot guy. The WRs who have slipped to rd 2 did so for a reason. And then we possibly will be trading picks to replace a top 10 receiver with a more expensive vet for the ultimately the same production, all the while still paying Diggs' salary. It makes me a little uneasy that we're going into day 2 of the draft with a bottom 3 receiving unit. The end result may work out okay but the process is a bit weird at times. Some Examples - Giving Justin Jefferson to Minnesota to get Diggs only to hear rumors recently of maybe the Bills trying to trade for Jefferson. We coulda had the dude on a rookie contract this whole time. - Signing Dawson Knox to a huge contract and then drafting a TE the following season. - Releasing Isiah McKenzie and then singing his equivalent replacement for 3 times the price.

Far more unlikely to hit on a premium late round pick than it is 1st. That's like planning your financial future "knowing" you're gonna hit the lottery.
-
We're gonna end up going into 2024 with Josh Allen and a bunch of JAGs. I'm pretty salty we didn't make a move for one of the top 4 WRs. As unrealistic as it may have been to land someone like Odunze, Brian Thomas certainly wasn't out of reach.
-
I just don't like the idea of trading for a big name vet. We're paying several million for a top 10 receiver to not play for us next year, then we're going to trade away draft capital for another top 15 vet and pay them more than we were paying Diggs. Just doesn't add up IMO.

Mitchell is probably the only way to salvage this nightmare of a draft at this point.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Round 1 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)

I stand by my statement. But I feel really reassured knowing that Beane will have this team fully stocked with Special Teamers and no starting WR. -

Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one
Lost replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care what it takes. Get it done. If the Bills don't, the Chiefs are sitting there ready to pounce. -
The Bills will never win a SB under this regime if they pass on BTJ at 28.
-
Here's what's really going to happen. Beane is going to sit on his hands because he doesn't want to waste his precious draft capital. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are going to trade up in front of the Bills and take the last WR that they had a 1st round grade on. Then the bills will draft a DB at pick 28 and subsequently cause a 4.8 magnitude earthquake in WNY from the collective heads of Bills Mafia exploding.

That Billsiest of all time Billsy moves to build a new $2.5B stadium at taxpayers expense and then relocate to a different city and abandon it. -

Will there be disputes with 2 owners over who's forking over all the cash for signing bonuses? -
Didn't u read? They're drafting a Safety 🤣

https://www.kentweyrauch.com/nfldraftvisits Just checked that chart from 2023 and there are no visits with Dalton Kincaid and only 1 private meeting with Kaiir Elam in 2022. So maybe it's not all that telling after all.

What does 'PRI' indicate on those charts?

And Diggs
-
I don't want to get rid of him...just his contract. Probably the biggest overpay of Beane's tenure in Buffalo.
-
Isiah McKenzie 3.0 Incoming 😂
-
That's a lot of cumulative money and draft capital all for a guy the Bills could have had anyway and been paying a rookie deal for.

How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?
Lost replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
If I'm GM, I'm targeting either Adonai Mitchell or Brian Thomas Jr. Will start considering moving up for Thomas if he slips past pick 16 or also moving up a few spots for Mitchel once Thomas is off the board. If we can sit back and land Mitchel at 28 without moving up, I'm using one of our 4th rd picks on WR too. WR group Mitchell/Thomas Samuel Shakir Hollins Shorter 4th Rd Pick
