Maybe because it was live and I had an exceptional view of it but I remember Jairus Byrd making an incredibly athletic interception against the Fish one year. Don’t remember the year. Obviously not as meaningful as we sucked but I’ll never forget that play he made. Out of this world athletic

The contract was precisely what I had the issue with. I like Ed and I think he’s a solid player but it’s all about opportunity cost and where else that money could go. In a vacuum I think Ed is good but it’s about allocation of resources. I’m also not saying it was necessarily a wrong decision, just that it is a gamble. I am hoping it pays off. when I see that kind of money though I am looking for more impact. I don’t see his production as a commensurate with the contract. I think a lot of this is based on health. If Ed can be healthy the contract could prove a good one. He is however undersized for the position and has been injured fairly regularly

Don’t know the numbers but this looks like a gamble by Beane. I thought 2023 would be his last year as a Bill. Need more production with that kind of money.

I may be in the minority but I think Davis is going to have a very good year as long as he’s healthy. He seems to be dismissed as an after thought. I still think we should make a go for Hopkins but Davis is being very underrated on here in my opinion

That’s an awful angle but he does seem to have a habit of showing up in camp in not the best shape

DE still makes me nervous. We need a healthy Von and Rousseau to take another step. Having Ford in the middle will help the pass rush but a lot of “show me” guys

Agreed. Many 5th rounders don’t even make the team. He’s got traits that can be coached. If it doesn’t work it doesn’t work but the process is sound

Great write up as always. One thing that caught my eye is your valuation on Notre Dame safety Brandon Joseph. As an Irish fan after watching him this season, I struggled to believe he is anything other than a late round/priority selection. I’m not sure if it was a case of learning a new defence after transitioning from Northwestern to ND but I’ve never seen anyone look so lost in coverage/look a lot slower than he should be. he was supposed to be a huge pickup but largely disappointed. His declaration for the draft was even more surprising after he had a poor combine (my memory might be hazy on this but I thought I remember he tested poorly). I’m not a talent evaluator to any extent and he could certainly prove me wrong but after watching him last season I thought his only hope was special teams as his safety play left a lot to be desired

This is a very good selection. Excellent value. Needed a guard and got a guy who should have probably gone a good bit higher. Filled a need and got the BPA

If we can get Addison without trading up that's a huge win in my book. He has special qualities
