  1. McD is better than 2/3 of the coaches in this league, but question still remains if's a true war time coach that can take this team to a SB, let alone win one. And as of now that answer is no because of his inability to win a road playoff game. If for some reason that changes this year so be it but history is not on his side.
  2. As I said, he's whiffed on draft picks at the position (like oline) vs FA signings. At some point though you do have to draft quality players at various positions and not just rely on FA help or you aren't very good at your job. If Davis pans out it's a different story but still TBD whether or not he's more than just a #3 type of WR that can make big plays occassionally.
  3. If you are talking about competing with the likes of Diggs and Davis, then of course not. But if this guy isn't good enough to beat out a guy like McKenzie for playing time or a roster spot then yes it was a waste. Also trying to figure out what happened to shakir after a promising start. Either way WR is one of the weakest unit's overall on this team and if something happens to Diggs or Davis it would be pretty ugly.
  4. I hope a certain owner also has impulsive rage towards his GM and HC should a certain team lose to KC in the playoffs again for the 3rd straight year.
  5. Gross. WR is another position that Beane has whiffed big with draft picks vs. FA signings. Maybe they truly are all in on OBJ landing in OBD.
  6. Not even that far back, even in 2019 we barely beat them and it took JA17 late game heroics when they were not a good team. Just hoping it doesn't turn about to be another Mahomes/Chiefs situation in which it's another one sided rivalry for AFC supremacy.
  7. Interesting timing for a team that is command of their division despite a couple of bad losses and their own midseason slump. This may be one of those 'more to the story' situations, but it also goes to show there are consequences to not seizing an open championship window and just being a playoff team/division winner every year simply isn't enough anymore for owners serious about winning.
  8. In a perfect world the Bills get the #1 seed, and KC/CIN are slotted in the #2/#3 spot with the Bengals knocking the chiefs out once again in the divisional so we never have to face them. Either way I'm very curious to see how the Bills match up with this rising Bengals team because they have obviously not faced Joe Burrow yet and historically the Bengals have seemed to fare pretty well against the Bills through the years going back to the 90's.
  9. He played large. And think that was the game he also dropped what should have been an easy INT.
  10. The point is seeding is not locked in and is likely going to change quite a bit between now and the end of the week 18, not just in terms of some of the division races, but WC seeding and the classic 'In the hunt' teams making a move late. And still think the margin of error is razor thin for the Bills compared to the Chiefs that basically just need to show up the rest of the way given their pathetic schedule. Bills need to basically win out and still think that's highly unlikely even if they have refocused and hungry again. Bengals game is going to be MASSIVE.
  11. Geno is a balling, but I wouldn't be surprised to still see the Seahawks draft a QB high even if he leads them to a division title/playoffs. Also don't forget about the Lions, they are a team on the rise and they will also be getting a top 5 draft pick from the Rams in the Stafford trade. They also got Goff in that deal who everyone wanted to write off but has been playing great football again this year so they may be set at QB.
  12. I get where they are coming from because the Bills were screwed for many years by the NFL schedule makers but bottom line you need to man up and be ready even on short weeks and not like they are turning around from SNF to play a TNF game. Also why they are going to really have to focus against a scrappy Chargers team to avoid the upset or this game many not even mean much coming off a 2 game losing streak.
  13. I'm definitely not a fan of the nickel base defense crap. Much more of a traditional 4-3 guy but to be honest probably like the 3-4 a bit more especially with an aggressive coordinator that knows how to properly run it like Belichik in NE. But I think this defense is going to have to continue to adapt either way especially since we have Klein back which is as good as you can get in midseason dumpster diving in terms of a guy who can still play and knows the system. He's a gritty throwback player and I've always liked his style of play. And he's inching closer to making some big plays for this unit again including the INT he dropped a few weeks ago. Knew
  14. Regardless of your stance on Edmunds, he's going to get @ $20 million per year because that's how the FA game works. So the real question is if you are Beane and the front office are you willing to pay that? And the answer is absolutely not and they know they can't anyway.
  15. These lines still make no sense but I do believe that if the same hungry team that showed up in NE comes to play they are going to dominate the Jets and their backup QB. In some ways I was almost hoping the Jets would win against the Vikings to come in way overconfident but now I think they'll fade early once White starts turning the ball over again which already started yesterday.
  16. I thought the Ravens were a lock to win that division but I'm thinking the Bengals are about to continue their current ascent regardless of LJ's health and availability. Still think the Ravens will be a lock for one of the WC spots though because I've had both those teams in the playoffs this year from the beginning.
  17. Tua really struggled yesterday against heavy pressure (which most great QB's do anyway) so no surprised the fish are trying to shore things up pretty quick.
  18. Sure he's not a rapist like the guy the Browns replaced him with, but this latest separation proves that Mayfield has serious issues and why his career in this league is going to very short lived, even more so than expected.
  19. Really hope he's ready to rumble and get in this Mike White clown's face against the Jets.
  20. Assuming both teams win next week as expected, this matchup is going to be MASSIVE. And with a sweep of the Bills the Dolphins would still jump right back in the division lead despite now being a game behind again. Going to be rooting for the Chargers to pull the massive upset against the Dolphins this week.
  21. So happy for this team after everything they've had to deal with in recent weeks but now the pressure is back on to hold position as both the AFCE leader and #1 seed in conference. Also remember at this point last year the Patriots were in the same exact spot and we all know how that ended up when the dust settled in the final weeks of the season. In other words let's not get overconfident and cocky just yet.
  22. I'll be honest I did not see this coming. And even though the final score wasn't necessarily indicative of how close the game was, all of a sudden the dolphins might not be the team everyone thought after relinquishing the division lead and facing another 2 tough road games up next. I think they are still legit but the Bills are now in position to hold on to the division lead the rest of the way similar to how Miami controlled their own destiny until late afternoon yesterday.
  23. This offensive line is woefully average on their good days and everyone thought a coaching change would make a difference but is hasn't. Beane whiffed on both guards and Spencer Brown is having that dreaded Buffalo sophmore slump for the most part. And I agree many teams aren't stacked with elite talent, but when you look at what Veach (who is a real big balla) is doing in KC in terms of knocking it out of the park in recent years with both high and late draft picks and you can't help but be envious of the situation. Especially after replacing an entire offensive line after a trip to a SB and watching his QB get ravaged by the Bucs. Bills are pretty much going to need to do the same next year even if there is no wholesale coaching changes.
  24. Yeah but he had Belichik's defense. We have McD/Frazier and we all know how script plays out against good teams and QB's when it matters in the playoffs. I just mentioned this in another thread about the Dolphins and their quick turnaround under McDaniel, but just think where this team could be next year if the Pegulas aren't afraid to make a bold move in terms of GM/HC change. The foundation is there with a franchise QB and you get a coach that runs a real defense and make some tweaks offensively and this team can truly ascend next year even in a monster that this division is becoming.
