  1. If he's healthy this is stupid move IMO, especially for a guy that in all likelihood is playing his last season in Buffalo. Only silver lining is 1st half schedule is easier (on paper) than the latter half.
  2. Still think preseason is fairly meaningless in the grand scheme of things but I was pretty impressed watching the Jets the other day. Rogers definitely looked rejuvenated and that defense is going to be absurdly good to the point that I'm going to dread a turnover, sack, negative yardage play, serious injury on offense, etc every time we snap the ball against them.
  3. Something tells me a few years from now the Pegulas, Bills mafia, etc are going to realize we kept the wrong GM and HC and made a grave mistake letting them go to the Giants.
  4. I'm sure this has been discussed, but sometimes guys simply don't look good or show up in practice vs actual meaningful game action. Reason I say this is obviously Elam was one of the few players that showed up for the Bengals playoff game and seems Elam made some crucial plays last year in limited action (i.e. Chiefs game/Mahomes endzone INT). So the question remains, does this team continue to overvalue 'practice warriors' vs. real talent and results? Going back to the Nathan Peterman fiasco sure seems that way and the fact that Elam is behind guys like Benford and Jackson is very concerning.
  5. Sure hope this is a position (in addition to MLB) that this team is already maneuvering for behind the scenes.
  6. Initial thoughts: 1) Massive swing and miss by Beane, again at some point he needs to be held accountable for years of horrendous drafting outside of JA17. 2) Personally I would have move AJE instead but beyond Miller/Rouseau most of these guys are interchangeable and the same marginal DE. 3) If for some reason Basham goes to the Giants and explodes then the microscope moves from Beane to McD and his staff, does make you wonder especially seeing Jerry Hughes magically improve his sack numbers with the Texans last year after not doing much in Buffalo in recent years.
  7. Best HC in NFL history for starters. Also the roster on defense is one of the best in the NFL and they got a real steal with their 1st round pick who IMO should have been a top 5 - 10 pick, offensively they probably still missing a few pieces but if Mac Jones can revert back to his rookie form or close to it they are going to be one of those grimy type of teams that rack up a lot of wins and Hoodie knows how to tame division foes in recent years.
  8. I think this team has solid leaders in the lockerroom but a massive void where it matters at the top in terms of HC. Need a true 'wartime' HC to take the next step and get past the divisional round and beyond.
  9. Brett Veach is the best in the business and keeps hitting on draft picks across all rounds, not just high round guys but late round finds as well. At some point the Beane needs to find more than just average NFL starters, solid backups, etc but maybe that changes this year given the early returns on Kincaid and Torrance.
  10. This is in line with what I expect and what a lot of other pundits and experts are predicting. Regarding the Bills specifically, I'm still holding off on my official prediction but right now I see anywhere from 6 - 10 wins as the magic number with a WC spot as ceiling. Picking the Patriots is bold move but I can certainly see them sneaking up out of nowhere this year but still see the Dolphins as the favorites because they have one of the best overall rosters in NFL, top 5 QB (when healthy of course) and rising young head coach.
  11. Well if I worked for the Bills I can tell you I'd be watching their LB group in particular very closely because there is some serious talent there that's not making the final roster and they will try and stash on the PS. Problem is they are legit NFL prototype guys and not undersized tweaner types so we probably won't be interested and let some other lucky team scoop them up...
  12. Jets hype is all in the Rogers basket, if he looks like he did last year they will certainly contend for a WC spot but that's about it. If he's worse or gets hurt they are a 7 win type of team again and they clean house after the season. If he does revert to MVP form obviously they are a legit SB contender. My biggest concern with the Dolphins is their up and coming (albeit strange) head coach was able to navigate a very difficult situation towards the end of the year and get the them back to the playoffs and they should have won against the Bills if not for being down to their 3rd string QB. Fast forward to this year they have one of the best overall rosters in the league and added one of the best DC's in the NFL. Obviously all hinges on Tua staying healthy but if he does they probably win 13 games minimum. Also don't sleep on Mac Jones and the Patriots, can still see a scenario where they quietly sneak up on everyone and win the division and make one last SB run in what might be Belichik's farewell tour. Defense is going to be as legit as the Dolphins and Jets and if the offense can get back to what they were a few years ago I think things get real interesting.
  13. This is the point most still don't understand. You take away JA17 from this regime and we are having a completely different conversation right now about a different GM/HC because both Beane and McD would already be long gone. I give credit to McD for developing some lessor talent on defense (i.e. late round/UDFA types) but his defenses have consistently failed on the biggest of stages and firing Frazier isn't going to change that. And nobody can sit here and tell me that McD is responsible for JA17 becoming the QB he is today because that guy is now in NY and going to lead the Giants back to a SB at minimum with a QB that most wrote off as a major bust.
  14. Definitely expect Beane to make a move, even if it's not a true 'power move' so to speak. Teams are going to be lining up to claim players from the more loaded NFL rosters like the Dolphins, Chiefs, Eagles, 49ers, etc.
  15. McD wouldn't make these type of comments if it wasn't serious. Very concerning for an oline that looked as bad as they did against the Steelers. 🤢🤮
  16. Not just Simms, Dolphins high on a lot of experts lists and consensus top 5 roster across the board. In fact don't be surprised if the Bills and other teams are lining up to claim players they release on cut down day. Would make a lot of sense too for getting valuable intel as well as valuable depth because of how loaded they are at most positions.
  17. IMO yes because I'm obviously very familiar with Dolphins since they are a division rival. But many experts and pundits also have them as a clear cut top 5 roster, in some cases not even factoring in QB like Chris Simms ranking:
  18. Yeah and they also advanced to the SB and won it including embarrassing the Chiefs and Mahomes in the process, something else this regime has never done and likely never will. Maybe start a poll online and see how many rational, unbiased NFL fans would take Beane/McDermott over Shanahan/Lynch. I can assure you it would be lopsided in one direction for anybody that pays attention.
  19. They have had playoff teams in their division all these years including the Rams who just won a SB 2 years ago (The 49ers nearly won the NFC championship game and swept them in regular season that year). Cardinals and Seahawks also made playoffs multiple times during that stretch. Bills have played in a watered down, rebuilding AFC East from 2019 - 2022 which is why most pundits see them regressing this year now that every other team in the division has gotten better (especially Jets/Dolphins). One thing I would agree on is if both the 49ers and Bills played in the Chiefs division in recent years neither of them would have been anything more than a wildcard team.
  20. Best roster in the league with stars everywhere, added one of the best DC's in the NFL, top 5 QB, rising young offensive mind HC, etc, etc. Jets similar in some ways but don't believe in Saleh or Rogers magically reverting back to MVP form and just like with the Bills last year, rarely do these hyped up media super teams live up to billing especially come playoff time.
  21. Again, what team has been to a SB and back to back NFCCG (3 total including the 2019 SB year)? Behind a dominant defense that actually performs in games that matter without a legit franchise QB. You really think Beane/McD are better because of their overall W/L record in the regular season?? If that's the case Marty Schottenheimer is the best coach in NFL history as well.
  22. If you are talking about overall W/L record great, I'm talking about being able to advance past the divisional round and compete for SB's consistently which is what matters (at least to me anyway) and a big reason for this is they have a defense that actually performs in the playoffs and not just the regular season.
  23. Seeing a lot of chatter about Jonathan Taylor possibly landing in Miami. My god if that happens Dolphins will have a legit chance to make a run at 17-0 along with the Chiefs this year.
  24. No they aren't, and I acknowledged their shortcomings at the QB position and the fact that if they weren't a good team/roster folks would have been fired for the Lance pick and everything they gave up to get him. But again, in the end it's all about results and their that's where McBeane's resume's don't hold up compared to SF's current regime.
  25. Let's see, in regards to the 49ers they've just been to back to back NFC Championships and a SB appearance in 2019 that they had a 10 point lead late in the game before the legend of Mahomes emerged in the end. Mind you all of this has been accomplished with below average to average QB play. Looking at the Bills, the current regimes success has been tied to getting stupid lucky with the JA17 pick. Take him out of the equation and this regime is already long gone and no different from their predecessors. Bottom line...the 49ers have a great GM and HC whose just can't seem to solve the QB position but have been suburb everywhere else. And yes I would also fire McD and hire Shanahan without thinking twice about it if that were ever an option.
