I think he'll have opportunity. The Bengals may try to take away the deep game, so Allen may end up throwing more underneath stuff - Beasley's specialty.

Well, he's currently a fashionable pick for the Bills among a number of mock drafters. Many like him and a few suggest he's the best RB prospect to come out in a while. He could drop because he is a RB and RBs are not highly valued as first round picks. Ultimately it depends on how the first round plays out. Buffalo does have greater needs. Offensive line has been noted by posts in this thread, but as I see the first round it's not likely there will be a solid value on the offensive line available in the last 5 picks of the first round. There may be a solid value at safety available in that spot, but it's not a sure thing. Depending on what happens with Jordan Poyer's contract situation and free agency there could be a real need there. Buffalo could upgrade at WR, and there may be some value there late in round 1. I know it's cliche but Buffalo will probably go for best player available. There is at least a chance Robinson would be available and would be the BPA.

We'll see what Buffalo does against a different defense than the one he faced versus Miami.

Whatever the league might say, playing in England will never be a home game in terms of accessibility to the bulk of home town fans or in terms of an advantage in the game, estimated by oddsmakers to normally be worth about 3 points.

I think it would be to Dorsey's long term benefit if he doesn't get the Panthers gig and stays with the Bills for a couple more years. He's a good OC, but he's still learning. I think he should probably have a little better handle on that role before he steps up to head coach. He's a young dude and should have chances in the future if he continues to show what he can do.

Will your respect for Tom Brady change when he retires?
BigAl2526 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
At least it's not CBS, which broadcasts a lot more Bills games than Fox. -
Hopefully, McDaniels will hire some young guy who will be a "yes man" and use a completely different defensive scheme. We probably won't be that lucky though.

This year, Buffalo had 8 home games. Next year, as you note, buffalo was to get 9 home games. As for me, I don't care that much, except that we have no idea who will broadcast that game. I can get most networks that broadcast NFL games except ESPN. If ESPN is the network for that game, I will miss it. For those who would relish 9 home games because they go to every one they can, Buffalo won't have a 9 game home schedule until 2025. Someone might not think that's very fair.

Poyer and Edmunds are both going to get big money deals. Jordan Poyer is 31. Tremaine Edmunds is 24. I like them both, but if Buffalo can only sign one of them. . .

Rumor, report, speculation or creating a "what if" scenario to get reactions?

If he ends up in the broadcast booth, I hope it is for ESPN. I have cut the cable, and don't get ESPN. -
Allen led all QB's in PFF Offensive Grade at 91.8
BigAl2526 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Clearly, Allen is an elite franchise QB. One of the traits that is so encouraging about him is the fact that he's always willing to face his mistakes and shortcomings, and work to correct them. Sometimes that has meant becoming a bit more daring. Sometimes it means reining in the gambling a bit. I'm sure he and Dorsey are evaluating the Miami game and will make some adjustments as a result. -
How confident are you the Bills beat the Bengals?
BigAl2526 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
When I saw the thread title, I immediately thought, 60% certain. It'll be a tough game. I pick the Bills to win, but the Bengal present a lot of challenges. -
Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason
BigAl2526 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think in that case it is a touchback and goes to the other team. It can only be a touchdown if a player from the other team touches the ball before it is downed in the end zone. -
I'm with you. Miami all the way. That way we can all watch as he hits the wall and implodes.
-
When I watch the game on TV, I see lots of down and distance errors made by commentators. It's not just a local radio guy issue.

The misses on those deep passes were mostly very narrow misses. Buffalo attempted all those deep passes because Miami's defense loaded up to try and create pressure and defend Buffalo's run game and short passing game, in essence daring the Bills to pass the ball deep against their very good CBs. I don't think Cincinnati's CBs are as good as Miami's. Cincinnati's defensive ends are good. I think Buffalo will probably play a little closer to the vest than they did Miami.

It's going to be a real challenge for the Bills. Obviously, they have to clean up their execution. Against Miami, the defensive linen did not get a lot of pressure on Thompson. They generated some with a little blitzing. That will be a riskier tactic facing Joe Cool. They would be far better off if they can generate pressure with the front four. Regardless of the relative quality of the backups who could be playing next Sunday, they are backups for a reason, and will probably be at least somewhat less effective protecting Burrows and opening holes in the running game than the starters would be. On the other side, Buffalo looks to be about as healthy as it could be aside from the key players on IR. From the sound of it, Dane Jackson's injury is a minor one and he may be available. More importantly, Kaiir Elam played really well in Jackson's absence. He's obviously been maturing as a player and honing his technique. Tre White is also improving week to week and may be as close to 100% as we could possibly hope for. Together they controlled Miami's elite WRs pretty well. The close score in the Miami game is directly related to the turnovers the Bills had on offense. That's the Biggest thing the team has to clean up.

The pro bowl could be amusing with the Mannings doing the coaching, but I can't take it seriously. After all, the players don't take it seriously. Yeah, they might take the honor of being named to it seriously, but not the game itself.
-
Technically, you're right, of course. I'm just saying there will be a lot of doubts expressed both by fans and media pundits about the Bills' ability to beat a really tough opponent, like Cincinnati for instance, if they don't beat Miami convincingly. Of course, they could use a little "rope-a-dope" in the Miami game. That is, they might play a bit more of a bland game plan in hopes of catching their next opponent off guard, but I'm not sure how much value there is in that at this point in the process. There is a whole season's worth of game tape for opposing defensive and offensive coordinators to analyze.

Fox News- Josh Allen's spiritual awakening
BigAl2526 replied to Returntoglory's topic in Off the Wall
I was a pastor for 40 years, including the years you mentioned. I never prayed for the Bills or anybody else to win the SB. I never even prayed that Tom Brady would fall on his face.- 137 replies
