The Giants would have to be not right in the head to trade Lawrence regardless of where in any given rebuild they are. That’s the type of player you lock up forever and never let out of your grasp.
Chiefs were unable to shut down the middle of the field and force the Bills to throw to the outside. KC LBers (especially Tranquil) had a bad game.
It worked this time, but we still got almost no WR production down the field (just the Moore pass I think). Everything to Shakir was a screen. We are incapable of throwing to a WR at the boundary 10+ yards down the field which is a big weakness.
It’s still a problem that needs to be resolved.
My bad, you are correct. I’m not exactly sure how rookie extensions work, next year would have been his 5th year option if he wasn’t extended. His cap hit is super low this season and next season for his production.
I would overpay for Waddle for sure. I’d go a first and a third and I think it would take at least that.
He’s a legit WR1 on his rookie contract. No brainer IMO.
My only criticism in this game is that the offense got a smidge too conservative a smidge too early. We only scored 7 points in the 2nd half. The actual play wasn’t as close as the final score.
I also think it was kind of bold to do a fire drill game winning FG attempt. Prater was barely in position with 7 seconds left on the play clock.
Jackson had 4 TDs. It’s possible he might get it just to remind people he’s back from injury (it is an award for primarily marketing purposes). His game was definitely less impressive than Allen’s though. The Dolphins straight up quit in the 2nd half, it was a pathetic display.
Allen will likely get AFC OPOTW again. Bowers could get it (127 yards and 3 TDs), but the Raiders lost and they don’t usually give it to losing players.
It “works” even when the team picks you apart in front of the shell. If a team is getting multiple explosive plays per game against you then you are cooked. If you make them spend 10-12 plays per drive then you’ll at least make them convert a couple 3rd downs and maybe they stall out for a FG.
Coordinators basically have to pick their poison.
Coordinators probably thought they could bait him in to youthful mistakes.
Certain QBs just get that cover 2 shell most of the time. It will happen to Maye too.
They aren’t unbeatable. They are vulnerable in the middle of their defense in coverage, and their RBs have been super meh.
At some point teams will start to lock down the deep passing game and make Maye dink and dunk down the field. Happens to every young QB after they earn that respect.
