  1. Evans is incredible, and would absolutely tear it up with Allen. I just don’t see how we can afford him without crippling our future. But that is why they pay Beane the big bucks.
  2. Hey…we still have Kingsley Jonathan under contract…
  3. I think they let pretty much anybody write for MSN. It’s a half step above Bleacher Report. That being said…wouldn’t surprise me if they took an EDGE at the end of the first depending on how things shake out.
  4. I think Beane has done okay on getting value in our second contracts with players, which is what KC has failed to do here. I’m not sure what your point is.
  5. I've never broken a woman's leg. Why is Hill frequently in scenarios like this? He's not a good person.
  6. I think he'll likely get cut this offseason or in camp. Usually teams go with rookies, or players with more upside for the role he currently fills. It's possible he could slot in as depth safety somewhere in the league though. Or possibly a vet practice squad spot.
  7. Gabe had some flashes of ability, but he wasn’t on the same page as Allen at a way higher rate than any of our other pass catchers. The most recent example I can think of was our last game against the Dolphins where there was a cover zero blitz in the red zone. Allen threw to a spot he thought Gabe would be and Gabe cut in making it an easy pick for the CB. Like a lot of these, it’s hard to know if it’s on Allen or Davis, but why does it happen so much with them?
  8. I think he’ll get 2 years $60-70m somewhere. He’s carved out a niche as an ideal bridge QB for a team that is looking to draft a rookie this year or next year and let them sit. Pats would be a good fit. Commanders maybe if they aren’t sold on Howell. Raiders possibly as well. He can get you to the playoffs, and even elevate his play when the game is on the line and you need to push the ball down the field.
  9. I would say the Jags (Lawrence) were also very unlucky. They were basically a lock for a playoff spot and fell off a cliff after the golden boy got a high ankle sprain. Looking at the NFC, Minny (Cousins) was super unlucky. I think he might have been MVP if he had stayed healthy. He was leading in all major passing categories when he went down.
  10. I think horrible tackler is an exaggeration. I would say average tackler for a CB, and pretty much on par with Hyde. Hyde wasn’t exactly a stalwart in the running game. He mostly just cleaned up guys by tackling them low if they got to the second level.
  11. 2023 - Bad luck. It was actually kind of amazing the game was as close as it ended up being considering all of our starting CB and LBers were out or severely limited. 2022 - Bad luck partially. Offensive play calling partially. Allen with the partially torn UCL. Von Miller and White out and limited but sucking up a lot of cap space. Plus all the other BS that happened that season. 2021 - Coaching 100%. Really no other explanation. 2020 - Chiefs were just better than us. 2019 - Coaching a bit. Offense and defense underperformed a bit based on the regular season. So I guess I'd say 30% bad luck, 40% coaching, 30% just not being as good as the other team.
  12. I wouldn’t restructure Diggs. As things stand right now, it’s easy to get out of his deal next offseason. Let’s see how this upcoming season goes, before we create a multi-year cap anchor around our necks.
  13. Does anybody really think we’ll get a haul for Diggs? He has a big cap hit, and he played more like an inconsistent WR2 the last 10 games of the season. It’s a lot of risk for the acquiring team. What if he continues to decline further next season? Of course there is the upside he is back to his regular top-5 self, but it’s a risk.
  14. It’s the bottom of the first round, and we have enough needs where we can probably pick BPA as long as it isn’t LB, CB, G, or RB.
  15. This upcoming season is going to be a real down year. The turnover on defense is going to be a big factor and a rookie WR from the bottom of the 1st round isn’t going to be ready to make a huge difference right away. I’m not expecting to win the division. I think we’ll be fighting for the last wild card spot. The theme of the year will be young players getting important reps, and hopefully being future affordable starters. The most important season for selling PSLs is going to be 2025 (new stadium opens the following season). So the Bills are going to take some cap medicine this upcoming season and then go ridiculously all-in the following season (think Rams burning all their draft capital for a push).
  16. What about the top 3? What are they up to? We could use a backup QB…
  17. I just hate Dolphins in general. Always squealing and whistling like they own the sea.
  18. Football is so random and comes down to a couple plays. Bills and Chiefs are evenly matched based on their matchups the past few years. Bills beat the Chiefs in KC this year, but if Toney doesn’t line up Offside they probably lose. If Dawkins holds up a fraction of a second longer and Allen hits Shakir in the endzone, there is a decent chance the Bills win. We’ve had some bad luck on close games and coaching blunders in those tight moments. Coaching is the #1 most important thing in these close games. What if Brady had schemed up a quick pass on 2nd down instead of running routes in the endzone? And then ran the ball on 3rd down, assuming it was 4-down territory? Bills likely kill the clock, get the first down and either win or give Bass a chip shot and we are likely going to OT. All coaching at that point.
  19. I don’t think it is revisionism. The Chiefs have had a better supporting cast on offense every year except this year, where it is more of a push. Kelce is a first ballot HOF player and possibly the GOAT TE. Hill was an incredible talent for KC and might have won MVP this year with slightly better health with noodle arm Tua (so it wasn’t just Mahomes making him great). He has an outside shot at the HOF as well. This year KC pass catchers = Bills pass catchers after Diggs’ inexplicable regression. Bills RBs were slightly better, but I would argue Pacheco was better at certain types of runs (e.g. if you *need* 2-3 yards he will run through arm tackles for them). Chiefs IOL was the best in the league. Bills offensive tackles were better than the Chiefs tackles. Overall I would say talent on offense was a push. But the big difference is the KC defense and special teams was on a totally different level than the Bills. Especially in the playoffs when it counts (in fairness the defense was very injured in the playoffs, but it still resulted in a loss).
  20. Personally, I think it is more about coaching than supporting cast. I think Reid is a genius and 100x the coach McDermott is. I think the KC defense puts it together in the playoffs when they need to and the Bills defense chokes. I think KC special teams does what they need to and the Bills doesn’t. Consider the Bills - KC playoff game from this year. Mahomes was throwing against Elam, Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis at Nickel. And Klein was coverage LBer on Kelce most of the game. All backups and healthy scratches parts of the season. Allen was facing McDuffie, Sneed and Bolton. All Pro Bowl and All Pro caliber players. Supporting cast matters. One guy has a much harder job than the other in that game.
  21. The KC games are like 1/3 of the games and over 1/2 of our losses. Why would you take those out? Do they not count?
  22. If Allen learns to do the “little things” maybe one day he can score 1 TD and 1 INT in regulation of a Super Bowl too. Inspiring stuff.
  23. One time the corpse of Phillip Rivers ran out of time and couldn’t finish his game-winning drive. Impressive stuff by our defense there.
  24. The Bills must have one of the worst playoff defenses the past 5 years right? Both in terms of yards allowed and points allowed per game? I mean compared to the Chiefs defensive performance in the playoffs it isn’t even close, I know that.
  25. Because our kicker can’t hit a basic kick that an NFL kicker should make 95% of the time. Mahomes kicker put through a 57 yarder tonight (the longest FG in Super Bowl history), and without that the Chiefs probably lose the game. His special teams also blocked an extra point which was also the reason the game went to OT. See how supporting cast and things like special teams matter?
