  1. He fell off a cliff statistically. The final 10 games of the season he had 1 TD and 1 game over 75 yards. And the eye test was bad as well. Way more drops than usual, not getting separation, and not fighting back for the ball. I hope you are right, but something was up and it wasn’t just the change in OC. I’m crossing my fingers for injury that he can recover from.
  2. Maybe it is a little bit on Allen too in that situation. I know it is a lot to ask considering everything he has to do, but he really needs to know where Jones is lined up on any given play and assume he is going to win his rep. If he assumes Jones will beat Dawkins, then his internal clock would be a little bit quicker there.
  3. Except when golden child Mahomes needed bailed out to extend the drive at the end of the game 😅
  4. Because Diggs is all about getting in people’s faces and yelling on the sideline, and throwing fits skipping days of training camp when it suits him. He’s a hypocrite and bad leader unless there is something we don’t know.
  5. Dorsey’s play designs were trash. I hope we get a better OC in here that can scheme players open even if the other team goes super passive.
  6. I don’t know how much he will command, or how we will fit him under the cap, but we have to find a way to re-sign D. Jones. He was the most important player on defense this year and he wants to stay in Buffalo. Please find a way to make it happen Beane! I would rather that than try to get middle of the road WR free agents. Go youth there.
  7. I hope he gets a huge payday somewhere else. And if he signs in the NFC, I’ll even hope he lives up to it.
  8. Special teams was a major factor in the Bills losing a few games this year (at Jets, at Eagles, DEN, KC, very nearly at LAC), and was a major factor in the Bills winning one game (at MIA). I would hope they would at least look at that and figure out wtf happened there from a management perspective.
  9. I think expectations any given year for a great team should be making the Divisional round. Football has too much luck, which combined with single elimination sends great teams home. I would say the Bills actually accomplished pretty much exactly what their preseason expectations were. However, the fact that there are no great teams this year does make it feel like a missed opportunity. The Chiefs and Bengals from last year were better than any team in the AFC this year.
  10. Does that even save us any cap in this scenario? Pretty sure we have to eat it no matter what.
  11. Of course Knox loves Allen. He’s responsible for Knox securing that huge contract. Knox should give 25% of his contract to Allen.
  12. Allen’s playoff stats per game over 10 games: 24/37 - 65% 272 passing yards 2.1 passing TDs 0.4 INT 100 passer rating 8 carries 56 rushing yards 7 YPC 0.5 rushing TD 0 lost fumbles 0.1 receiving TD ——— And that is with a terrible Bengals game dragging down the averages. The fact that we haven’t made the Super Bowl with that kind of QB consistency is nuts.
  13. I’m fine with the idea of a fake punt in that spot. Especially since I don’t think we’ve run one in years. But the execution was terrible. Hamlin was motioning weird before the snap, which tipped that something was up. Then the play itself never had a chance. Basically if you are going to call that play there, you better have a flawless implementation and execution ready to go, which they obviously didn’t.
  14. I think he’s fine, and not really a problem with our defense. Considering where he was drafted and his cost, he’s performed adequately. I kind of hope he doesn’t have a monster contract year, so we can retain him affordably and have stability at that spot. In fact, I would extend him this off-season to an affordable deal if I were Beane.
  15. I hope we do a real search for an OC. Results were still subpar and playcalling was poor at times (maybe that was McDermott influence).
  16. Our defensive scheme seems to do well against Lamar Jackson. I think we would have had a chance. Defense would have been a week healthier as well.
  17. I disagree, we rebuilt the o-line, added a bunch of role players on offense, people were optimistic about Diggs and Davis. There was optimism Tre White and Von Miller would return to form. A lot of people felt we were improved “on paper” before this season. The reality we are now facing is Diggs is possibly washed, Davis is gone, I don’t think anybody is confident White or Miller will ever return to form (or even will be on the roster next season). We don’t have the cap to pick up the same kinds of role players on offense. Our safeties were already old and are now a year older (they might not be on the roster next year, Hyde is a FA and Poyer is a liability). Next year the marketing will be “youth movement”, but we definitely won’t be considered better on paper.
  18. Wide Receiver, Safety, Defensive End. Take your pick, plenty of holes on the roster next year. 28 is late enough where you aren’t going to be landing a sure thing. Check the last 10 years of the 28th pick. I’m not sure there is an impact player in the bunch. Actually, mostly busts.
  19. Next year is a rebuild year. The only way we get the #1 seed is if McDermott can get decent defensive results with less talent, and we hit on a rookie WR. The goal should be making the playoffs, possibly winning the division and see what happens after that.
  20. The big difference is in Super Bowl 25 the Giants had a much worse offense, so that was the correct strategy. Shorten the game, limit possessions and hope they can get a couple plays to come away with the win. We have the 2nd best QB in the league, and the best intermediate passer in the league. They should be coming up with creative ways to get those kinds of plays available. We shouldn’t be trying to limit possessions, we should be trying to get as many possessions as possible. Handicapping ourselves to keep the other team’s offense off the field is not playing to our strengths/advantage.
  21. Asking Allen to dink and dunk down the field for 8 minute drives, just so your sieve defense doesn’t get exposed is lunacy. Is that what “complementary football” is?
  22. Is he going to be the alumni who leads the charge for the 2040 Bills that finally break through?
  23. Mahomes is in such a better situation it’s impossible to compare. Even though they had similar stats tonight, Mahomes barely looked like he broke a sweat. Throws were to open players, and when he made a couple contested passes on the first drive of the 2nd half, his receivers made the plays. One of his TDs was a complete wide open gift on a busted coverage. He was barely pressured, and when he was it was the only time the Chiefs had to punt. Even his big scramble was him waddling down the sideline half-speed behind a blocker escorting him. Compare to Allen, where he is constantly escaping pressure, making big runs, and delivering difficulty throws all over the field that his WRs drop. And it isn’t about not taking the “easy stuff”. Most of his passes were behind the line of scrimmage tonight. The difference to me, is that Reid is 20x whatever offensive coaches we have.
  24. $30m WR2 ain’t gonna get it done. Trade him or cut him if that is the case.
  25. Worst game I saw from our defense was the first Pats game and it isn’t even close. What is more embarrassing than getting carved up by Mac Jones and a bottom-3 offense in the league?
