  1. Chargers lost Allen and Williams Tyler Boyd is a good get, but is aging quickly Berrios is quite uninspiring and Malik Washington is a question mark Bills DRAFTED Keon Coleman, and signed Claypool and Cephus It may not be sexy, but I have no issues with the Bills taking a chance on two redemption projects to potential bring some impact. If Allen can motivate these guys in the right way, we could see a really consistent WR room. Maybe not high end, but consistent.
  2. Burrow was on a rookie deal until recently, and all success Burrow had against the Bills (and achievements) are while he was on his deal. So they could disperse funds towards other positions while he was on that deal. Chase is on his fifth year Higgins just now is on the Franchise tag. Your point (if I'm not mistaken) was the Bengals have been able to be more successful than the Bills and have cap space right now, I'd simply point out the situations have been entirely different. The Bills were never as bad as the Bengals were, and have not had the luxury of two top 6 picks (being at two vital positions) on rookie deals for 5 years as a way to fill out the roster with available funds. Not to mention, the first year Beane came to the team he had to clear a load of dead cap, which limited the way he could turn the team around in 2018/2019. You are right, Burrow is no longer on his deal. However, Chase (a top 10 WR in the game) is $9M this year. Burrow's actual hit is $29M. Higgins even on the tag is $21. They have been able to hold core pieces for small amounts of money, and this year is their first real year of cap impact. That $23M will not be so high next year, unless they offload talent (like the Bills did). Regarding the Chiefs comments - The Chiefs are the best team in the league over the past 5 years. The Bills have been a top 5 team over the past 4 years. The Bills are like the Chiefs - they have a core piece (Allen/Mahomes) and they have other core talent locked down (Kelce/Milano/Jones/Miller/Etc.). The main difference is the Chiefs dealt Hill instead of giving him an extension, where as the Bills gave Diggs an extension and now have moved him. That's a $30M sway (and accounts for the cap you discuss the Chiefs having). It's one move. I don't hold this organization to the fire over one move. They are fixing the problem it caused, but they aren't dumb in aggregate. The Chiefs have made smart moves - the Bills have made smart moves. The Chiefs made a smart move one more time than the Bills did. And even then, it didn't look like a smart move until the Chiefs won it all this year.
  3. The chiefs traded Hill to get away from a cap bind. The chiefs have moved players out, but have been flexible with that cap situation via great drafting and cheap FAs. The bills are emulating that to a degree. the bengals were worse than the Bills had been for the past decade in 2019-20 when they picked first overall and 5th for chase and burrow. They are losing Higgins and Hendrickson within the year, and they have benefitted from having those talents on rookie deals. in fact, you made your own counterpoint in your post. The Bengals have an elite QB on a rookie deal, which gives them flexibility. They have had two elite WRs on rookie deals, which have given them flexibility. The Bills have had Allen’s deal active for a few seasons now, and paid Diggs as a true #1. So I’m not sure what point you are trying to make here.
  4. The overhead of that video potentially showed a reason why Franklin dropped to the 4th round. He was zig zagging all over the place
  5. The Bills offense was top 5 at the end of the year, and was so via flexibility of the scheme week to week. The team didnt need to funnel Diggs 15 targets a game to be successful. Brady used the run game, Kincaid, Shakir and it was a better offense than the first half of the year.
  6. I have a feeling they will go WR in the third. Guys will continue to drop
  7. He is Gabe Davis with hands. If he has those traits, the Bills will make him successful
  8. Worthy sprinted to the stage, and the light breeze in Detroit picked him up and he was never heard of again
  9. If worthy makes such an impact, he isn’t the pick at 28, he is going top 10. Frankly the guy can run fast at the combine. I don’t see the separation on film, I don’t see plus hands. They will scheme him all over the field I’m sure, but worthy was not a top 40 prospect in this draft for me.
  10. Or, people have been consistent that they are not a huge Fan of Worthy…. But posters sensationalize for the sake of making a point
  11. I wouldn’t be shocked if worthy is listed as “first round disappointments” a year later. He screams gadget to start and then finding out if he can develop further
  12. Sky Moore was the speed guy taken two years ago who is awful kadarius toney was picked up to be the speedy first round grade receiver to be a stud ross was brought in to see if his speed could amount to somethjng in the tail end of his career the chiefs have struck out on receivers just as often as they have hit. Hill was and is an amazing player. If they have fooled everyone and found a guy of tbat talent again? Credit to them
  13. I’ll just say this, I was more impressed with McConkey running with the ball in his hands than Worthy when I watched them mcConkey also looks like the more natural catcher worthy has more experience with the route tree and Is is fast in a straight line
  14. I’ve watched the tape on Worthy, I’m not impressed. i think he has value as a gadget guy and if Mahomes and him gain chemistry, he can be effective i didnt have a top 40 grade on him
  15. The quality of this draft isn’t its depth. Moving up in rounds is good value for this year
  16. I mentioned it in a text to a friend - 33 and one of our seconds next year for Aiyuk and their second at the end of the round extend aiyuk, take your savings and draft Franklin who you love at 61
  17. COULD YOU IMAGINE THEM WITH JOHN ROSS??!! He was worthy before worthy! wait, they did have him… and he didn’t even crack the roster speed isn’t everything
  18. No historical comp showed Josh Allen would be a top QB in the league. I understand what you are saying. Bleed the chiefs dry if they try to move up. However, there are so many variables to the situation. Maybe the chiefs were the only team offering to move up? Maybe the bills are working on other deals and need certain picks to make it happen, maybe the Bills are targeting players that they know will be available later on?
  19. Maybe the trade we received was in fact a premium…?
  20. Of course I’d be upset, but not at Beane trading back. I’d be pissed if we drafted worthy to only have him get injured right away, or turns out he can’t catch the ball if the chiefs maximize the ability of him, so be it. This isn’t us trading the first overall pick. you can’t be “scared” as an NFL gm. Beane has someone in mind for our pick, and he obviously knows he will get him
  21. So would you prefer the Bills take worthy to spite the chiefs, but can’t use him effectively and he busts, or take someone at 28 that would have been available at 32 anyway and not move up 30 spots into the 3rd round?
  22. Losers focus on winners, winners focus on winning. Bills weren’t going worthy, and they obviously have a guy in mind. Get your guy and get a 3rd to either move up in the 2nd, or fill out the roster
  23. @GunnerBill great job as always - any idea why WR has gone from "We may see 7 receivers in the first round" to only 5? Mitchell/Legette/Franklin/McConkey all not being selected in the first. Does that say more about the concerns of the talent, or the addressing of other needs by teams?
  24. B. Cooks - Good #2 K. Benjamin - Bad W. Fuller - Bad N. Agholor - #3/4 B. Perriman - Bad P. Dorsett - Bad J. Doctson - Bad L. Treadwell - Bad D. Moore - Low Tier #1 C. Ridley - Low Tier #1 M. Brown - Good #2 N. Harry - Bad C. Lamb* - Mid Tier #1 J. Reagor - Bad J. Jefferson** - Top #1 B. Aiyuk - Mid Tier #1 K. Toney - Bad R. Bateman - #3 with Potential So we have: 1 Top Tier #1 4 Mid/Low #1s 2 #2s 2-3 #3s 8 Bad To be fair, in the last few years the results have been better: Since 2018 Draft: 4 Mid/Low Tier #1s 1 Top End #1 1 Good #2 1 Good #3 with upside 3 Bads So really the tweet is a little misleading. In the past 5 drafts, teams in our position have found a #1 WR 50% of the time. With this class being deep, the chance of that hit only goes up. Is the risk there? Of course. But I'm not scared about picking a WR at 28. If Beane had a guy they want, they need to go after them.
  25. The question is dependent on two things. 1) am I able to complete passes like a shovel pass to a motioning receiver? That’s really the only pass I think I could complete. 2) is the teams goal to win the game or for me to complete a pass? I can throw the ball 20-30 yards downfield with decent accuracy, but I have no reference to the timing of an NFL play. I don’t think I could judge a corner/safety/lb in zone coverage. I also think if someone as bad as one of us was behind center, the other team would bring a heavy set in and drop everyone within 5 yards of the line. Zero blitz all day and none of us could process and develop a rhythm to complete a pass. I’m not small (6’2), in decent shape, and can throw a bit. However, so much of the QB role is pre snap, and then just insanely fast reads real time. Then the athlete part comes into play. if I can shovel to a wr? 1-5 passes. If the goal is to complete a pass PAST the line of scrimmage? Zero. And I’m comfortable knowing I’m correct
