  1. Typically not is my guess. Will be game plan and/or injury dependent.
  2. Unsurprising news. This is Gilmore all over. If he does come back to play at all this year, NE fans can expect some classic Stephon “don’t get hurt” style of play. He had some very good years after he left for NE, but I am not and never was sorry he was gone.
  3. Agree. Good move for the Jets, because they are desperate. I would not expect Lawson to provide much more value than the sixth round pick they spent for him.
  4. Lamar is the best running back in the league.
  5. That style of offense is easy enough to defend if you know it’s coming because there are no other options. Yes Rivers had a really good day (although not good enough to win) but he is a hall of fame QB and NE has none of those to put it kindly.
  6. Good point. I guess I am more concerned about the next two or three years, including this one. Lots can happen in the longer horizon. I am still betting Watson is effectively done though. 😎
  7. You may be right. I could certainly see the NFL playing forgive and forget given the star status. However, I think he is unlikely to play this year and time works against him greatly. Society in general will be less likely to play forgive and forget and this will be a problem for Miami, as will throwing Tua under the bus by making the trade. Suppose they make the trade, and have to wait x months or a year for Watson to play. What happens to team chemistry and what ever shtick Flores is trying to run there.? Disaster in my opinion. Bring it on.
  8. Watson’s career is over, one way or the other. I hope Miami makes this trade. Whether their picks are protected or not, they are absolutely screwed.
  9. I doubt it. DE is one of the deepest positions on the team.
  10. Thanks, but I guess I should have used a smiley face or something to denote my attempt at humor. Caldwell is welcome to him as far as I am concerned. Yes, but can he out preseason Nate Peterman?
  11. I suspect it’s about coaching with Lawson, but buyer beware in any case. He underperformed from the start in Buffalo, including his first year under McD. They made a good decision in not picking up his option. I am not sure if the coaching or the contract year motivation were more of a factor in his 2019 performance, but the fact that his play slipped significantly after getting his payday does not speak highly of his self motivation. I think we dodged a bullet in his taking the Miami offer over the Bills. As some have suggested he might be a good fit for the desperate Jets, but if I were Saleh I would not count on much leadership and be prepared to push hard.
  12. Absolutely. As long as they are collecting substandard quarterbacks, maybe they will give us a third for Jake Fromm? Maybe Fromm for Ertz straight up?
  13. The only thing Arians is doing any differently is the rules for road trips. He did this because they had a vax’d player have dinner with his former teammates on the road in TN and then spread Covid to the team. Nothing that Arians is doing would have impacted anything that happened with the Bills this week. Tampa has to follow NFL and NFLPA rules like everyone else. His road policy is within his prerogatives.
  14. Well, I think we now know that it was not about Covid concerns and more likely about getting a year off and extending his contract another year into the future.
  15. I think he was on track to be odd man out, but with Phillips injury, they are going to need him now, unfortunately.
  16. Dion was vaccinated but got sick during the waiting period after the shot where you are still vulnerable. Big difference. He was trying to do the right thing. It isn’t not clear anyone else on the team was exposed because this happened prior to training camp. Beasley is very different. By the way, dumb is spelled with a b.
  17. The over/under on Urban bailing is 1.
  18. Tough break. I am so sad. Do you mean future hall of famer, guaranteed all pro, just as good as Tom Brady, Mac Jones?
  19. He is entitled to his opinion. I hope the Ravens do pay him more money than Josh. Then they will be stuck with him.
  20. Only a matter of time .....
  21. Did not say he did, just that he was the only potential challenger other than Stevenson, but with both now apparently hurt, his spot is likely safe.
  22. Great job GB. You were bound to get some flack for daring to criticize Kumerow, but I felt the same way. The sideline catch was really good, but the drops were bad. He does not seem to get much separation. Unfortunately, the injury to Stevenson could resolve the question. With Hodgins also out, I don’t see anyone else who can challenge Kumerow’s spot at WR 6.
  23. Fields was fun to watch and certainly more dynamic than Dalton, but he has a long way to go. His game yesterday was very Tyrod like. Anointing him the savior of the Bears is very premature in my opinion.
