This is hardly “stunning” and actually quite predictable once Gilmore started his new contract nonsense and suffered his also predictable preseason injury. He can probably still play and will likely help someone this year, but no thanks on the Bills, not that there is any chance of that.

Seriously. Self loathing is a big thing with Bills fans generally. The rankings are just for fun obviously, and perceptions will change week to week, but a legitimate case can be made. There is no team playing objectively better than the Bills right now. They are destroying weaker teams, something those teams other opponents have not really done, and probably have yet to play their best game on offense, a scary proposition for the rest of the league. Their only stumble against the Steelers, in a game where the fully healthy Steelers D shut them down, was only lost due to a 1 in 500 (maybe 1 in 1000) special teams play. The D played great. People love to try try and show what hard bitten realists they are, how “objective” they are, and that they are not “homers” (a truly obnoxious and insulting phrase) when I think they are really just afraid of being disappointed. It’s a game, the Bills have a great team, enjoy it. We’re Number 1! Go Bills.

I am sure that will not end up being close the worst over reaction of the day but it is certainly a candidate thus far.

As with the constant chatter of self appointed experts regarding the value of Tremaine Edmunds, thankfully the Bills will not rely on fan opinions to determine the value of Ed Oliver or any other players with respect to their past, present, and future contributions to the team. I can guarantee you that the Bills definition of "bust" will be completely different than average Joe Fan around here. I suspect they think they are getting pretty good production out of Ed Oliver, because, well, they are. No, he is not Aaron Donald and never will be. That does not make him a bust, nor does anyone's random definition of what a top ten pick should be. Correct. The absolutely most useless type of analysis is hindsight analysis. Literally anyone can pick the right answer after the question has already been answered.

Apparently PFF is putting that busted coverage 75 yd pass play on Edmunds. Makes everything else suspect.

San Fran. The “genius” Saleh went on about stopping Josh Allen from running, making him pay for running the ball, etc as the key to containing him. He went off on them through the air. I am much more concerned about Sanders playing at this point.

I agree. He does not typically throw it up for grabs. He also typically plays only half the field and and really does not demonstrate knowledge of where the open receiver is or should be. Very Tyrod Taylor like in that regard.

Excellent point. Unlike other teams, like Pittsburgh and New England, that will try to play that short, quick passing game, Buffalo possesses two “cheat codes” in the slot in Beasley and Sanders, and they also posses a QB who has the skill set to burn you down field at any time. Buffalos’ mid to long passing game was outstanding last year, but at times Josh was impatient as you point out. I expect there to be some shift in the O Thisbe year and that will be a major improvement area for Allen.
