  1. I agree. Bradford has been spotty when he has been healthy, and betting on his ability to stay healthy would be a big risk.
  2. I think this trade is looking better all the time. It is obviously a high price to pay, but I think Watkins is showing he is a unique talent. Moving up to take him will pay dividends for the Bills for a long time.
  3. The title tricked me into reading this useless post. Back to enjoying a win based on dominating defense, timely offense, and superior depth of talent across the board by the Bills.
  4. Let's hope so. A Cutler like performance would certainly help.
  5. The secondary is going to have to play better than they have so far. They have been beaten deep and Stafford has a cannon for an arm. Possibly a break if Johnson is not fully himself. If they can keep the Detroit receivers in front of them and avoid the bombs, they have a good chance of staying with the Lions and winning the game. No fast scores - make them earn it.
  6. I would have liked to see Fitz stay, but remember, they did offer him a reduced contract to stay and he said no, ultimately playing for TN for the same reduced money. I understand where Fitz was coming from, but do not fault the Bills for not wanting to pay $7.5 m to Fitz either. In retrospect, perhaps they should have, but it seemed prudent to me at the time. As for Williams, I think he is a better option than Johnson, but I am at a loss to explain why he is sitting on the bench. Frankly, I think their best alignment would be with Williams on the outside and Woods in the slot as a base offense. Not sure why they are reluctant to do this. Lack of confidence in the QB? Perhaps.
  7. It is entirely possible the Bills win all 4 of this games. The toughest one will be Detroit this week. I am very confident about the NE game and the Jets game. MN is a question mark to me but that game is also certainly winnable. My guess is they win 3/4. If they beat NE, they will control the Division at the halfway point. Elsewhere - the Jests lose 3 in a row coming into the Bills game. NE loses to Cinci and Buffalo. Miami loses 2 of next 3.
  8. Really? They are not on the Jerry Springer show, they are part of a professional football team. What I want is for them to win. For that they need to develop team chemistry including trust for one another. It is the essence of a team sport. I could not care less what they really think, so long as they win.
  9. I clicked on this today and was half through it before I realized it was Sullivan. I normally do not read his stuff at all anymore. He actually kept the snide, whiney crap that he passes off as intelligent comment to a minimum and made a couple of good points.
  10. Very impressive. this is obviously not his first rodeo. I m looking forward to seeing what he's got on Sunday. The veteran presence in the huddle and on the filed should help a lot.
  11. Exactly. Hacks like Rodak live for this. Throwing a teammate under the bus is not very professional. Perhaps some of the veterans will coach these guys up. They don't seem to realize EJ is one play away from being back under center.
  12. Sounds about right unfortunately. It would be a major upset if the Bills beat the Lions at this point, and a huge unknown as to what they will get with the QB change.
  13. None. For the same reason that should be all too obvious to the Rams right now.
  14. Great analysis Cat. I do not see anything wrong with the offensive design myself. It has been very poorly executed, particularly at the QB position. While watching the KC/NE game I was struck by how similar the two offensive systems are. The difference? Alex Smith has been very accurate and executing the design nearly flawlessly. The talent on the two teams on offense is similar (Buffalo's receivers are actually better overall I think) but Smith is putting the ball on the receivers hands and allowing them to make plays. What a concept. If Orton can play to Smith's level, and Smith will never be confused with Peyton Manning, the Bills will be very hard to beat. I guess we will see come Sunday.
  15. The answer is they will tell us when they are good and ready. If they will be out, no sense in giving Detroit's coaches any more time to prepare than absolutely necessary.
  16. I suspect we are in the minority but I agree with you. Manuel was always going to be a project and it is a shame there was no viable veteran behind him at the start, and also a shame he lost so much of last year. That said, the Bills are good enough to win now with even average QB play and I support the decision to play Orton if the coaches believe he can give them some consistency at the QB position. I think EJ will be back and am also rooting for him to overcome this setback.
  17. Marrone had nothing but praise for Orton and his signing since day 1 and was open critical of the backup QB's prior. The rumor mongering by Florio and others never made any sense frankly. Marrone wants to win and I am sure would play any QB he thinks gives him the best chance.
  18. I wish I could be there. It's going to be a great day. Carry it home boys - loud and proud. Go Bills!
  19. I predict pain. Bills 27 Fish 9. Tannehill is going down early and often.
  20. I would doubt that, but whatever the reason, Marrone felt he needed an attitude adjustment. He got it, and it worked. Woods now looks like he is ready to take that Year 1 to Year 2 step up he needed to make. Kudos to him for buckling down, and kudos to Marrone for motivating him.
  21. You will have to wait. TP is in Traverse City for the NHL Prospects Tournament this weekend. Maybe next week though.
  22. The Putrids missed multiple tackles on just about every play. You have to give some credit to Moreno for running hard, but my impression was that NE pretty much sucked. At least half of Moreno's yards came on missed tackles.
