  1. Yes, we need the third string QB from a 4 - 12 team. That is definitely the solution. Sometime I wonder if people actually watch football or just highlight shows. Even then, you would be hard pressed to find any highlights of Cousins since his brief rookie season run in short term relief of Griffin. When given a chance for extended starts since, he has been Jeff Tuel caliber awful.
  2. Perhaps that helped, but I would say that the focus on fixing their OLine and commitment and ability to run Demarco Murray were primarily responsible. That said, I would be ecstatic if the bills brought in a new OL coach and someone to look over Hacket's shoulder, assuming they intend to keep him.
  3. I have enjoyed his coverage as well. It is fair and balanced, which is probably why people connected with the team will actually talk with him. It has become my primary source for daily Bills news as I rarely read the TBN articles anymore.
  4. And some people, including Dope and Bullfrog, want to prove they are smarter than everyone else with negativity and arrogance. I would hardly call what Schoop does "truth". I am sick of the act.
  5. For one reason, because they have traditionally lost games like this in the past. Clearly a different team and attitude than in the past, and if you can't see that, you are not paying attention. By the way, they were up 17 - 6 at the half with Tom Brady playing.
  6. The sad thing is this not even close to the dumbest post we will likely see in the coming weeks.
  7. I wish I saw a possibility that the Bills could stay within 10.5 points but I dont.
  8. This play, and the ensuing punt, were what has put me over the edge with the Coaching. I might understand this call if, as I was assuming at the time, they planned to go for it on 4th down. However, as we all know now, Marrone decide to punt, 2 points down and less than 15 yds from kicking the go ahead field goal. That decision, along with this cutesy call which did not even seem to have an option, baffle me. You had 2 plays to get 1 yard, and this is the best option? Orton of course screwed it up. Game over.
  9. Please stop with this nonsense. He is out of football for a very good reason - he is not an NFL QB - not even close.
  10. I do not think there is any question that the attitude and culture of the Bills has radically changed over the past two years. While it would be fair to say that both Pettine and Schwartz have had an impact on this (especially the nasty streak this D plays with), it starts at the top and it is Marrone who should be credited with instilling the change. This team expects to win, fights hard, and does not exhibit the loser mentality we have witnessed for years under Jauron and then Gailey. It is a noticeably different team.
  11. Absolutely. Not sure why anyone would be concerned about this. Hit him right in the chest. Matthews did not seem to be expecting it, but that is his problem.
  12. I would love it if the Bills could make him pay for that comment and attitude.
  13. Well, I am sure your happiness is their most important goal. Just wondering - why would they curse the blind?
  14. Read what? An article about RG III? Thanks but I already subscribe to the Post. Not sure where the article connects to EJ, but rave on.
  15. So your theory is that Marrone is refusing to play a better player, just because? Sorry, I just don't buy it. Marrone is not going to say anything else publicly nor should he. I am as frustrated as anyone that Williams has not worked out but not to the point of concluding some conspiracy or outright stupidity on Marrone's part in not playing him. There is a problem that we are not privy to. Williams mouthing off in the press is a pretty good sign of the problem and it is not the first time.
  16. This is exactly right. If Williams wants to play he should just shut up and go to work. I do not have a problem with a head coach demanding consistent effort and team first attitude above all else. I think Marrone had been clear about this from the beginning. Despite the obvious issues they have had on offense, if you cannot see a significant difference in the attitude of this team, the togetherness, the competitiveness, then you are simply not paying attention or choosing to ignore it. We have not seen this here in a long time. If the price for that is a supposedly skilled player like Williams riding the pine, so be it. We may have all hoped Williams would change his approach with his new team, but clearly that has not happened. All mouth, no show. As fo Urbik, we may never know, but I suspect this was also his issue. His play declined noticeably last year, and he showed nothing during training camp and preseason either. Lack of effort will get you benched on this team. Urbik is back in the lineup and playing better than he did at any point last season. One other point. Remember Robert Woods getting dropped on the depth chart in preseason? How is that looking right now? He obviously got the message. Sadly, Williams is not.
  17. Here is how I see it: 7-9 Marrone and staff fired; 8-8 Marrone 50/50 to stay but Hacket forced out; 9-7 Marrone stays and Hacket 50/50; 10-6 Everyone stays; 11-5 St. Doug and thank God fans do not get to make decisions. My bet is 9-7 at this point, but anything can still happen.
  18. Against the Browns, Watkins was targeted 9 times, caught 3. Of the rest, I remember him having his hands on 1, that arguably could have been caught, although it would have been a great catch. 2 were intercepted. The rest were not close. This is Orton forcing the ball to Sammy along with Orton's inaccuracy, not Watkins dropping balls.
  19. You may have a serious hole in your musical education. That's "Uncle John's Band" by the Gratefull Dead. Bill is a serious fan. Most of us were too stoned to remember the lyrics, but that one is definitely a classic.
  20. It certainly starts with the QB. Hacket's offensive game planning and calls look much better when Orton is actually hitting targets. The past several weeks, he has been awful, settling right back to his level. That said, I continue to be perplexed by the insistence on power running formations that have not worked all year. I am also unimpressed with Hacket's ability to adjust as the game move along.
  21. I think the Bills D is capable of holding the Broncos down to under 20. KC would have done it yesterday had their Offense and Special Teams not kept coughing the ball up. Unfortunately, the Offense we saw displayed yesterday is not capable of much of anything. This game is winnable because of the Defense, but unless Hacket pulls a rabbit out of his hat, and Orton plays far better than he did the past few weeks, no chance.
  22. Quite true. He will fire Gruden and start over rather than ditch RG III.
