  1. I want the Jets to have Foles as well.
  2. A battle of wits between Blount and Lynch would be a short contest indeed, ending in a scoreless tie.
  3. If this were actually true, he is even a bigger idiot than I thought. Does he actually expect anyon to believe that crap?
  4. I tend to think you are right about Brees, but just speculating that given NO's cap issues, Drew's huge contract, and their terrible performance last year NO may be thinking of retooling. It would assume they had a plan on a draftable QB of course. They need lots of help. That team was awful last year.
  5. Some on this board have maintained the Bills will look to make a big splash with a QB. I do not think they have the ammunition to trade up without a 1 this year. Trading for a quality veteran whose team is looking to move on would be logical. The is likely to be someone in that category and perhaps even someone not currently thought of. Kap or Rivers, possibly Manning make he most sense. What's about Brese?
  6. Revis would cost far more than 12 - 14 mil. More like 17-20.
  7. Agree with this. Hughes leaves a much bigger hole than people are assuming. The smart move is to resign him and devote other FA money to OL, RB, and TE. Also consider Searcy is a free agent and they are going to have to deal with Dareus soon.
  8. I guess we will see, but my bet is PR. Perhaps I am too cynical but I just do not like this guy and this smacks of the kind of shallow, self promoting thing he would do. Happy to ultimately be proved wrong.
  9. Cousins lack of ability made it hard for him to succeed. You would think after the Rob Johnson fiasco Bills fans would be more critical of one or two game wonders like Cousins. He came in when RGIII was hurt two years ago and had two good games. He has been awful since, despite extended opportunities to start. He is every bit the 4th round draft choice he was. Maybe a competent back up someday, but not a starter and not a better option than EJ. Major pass on this guy.
  10. I could not agree more. This is not a pressing need and there are numerous others. I would rather see available cap space spent resigning Hughes and Searcy, and bringing in some real talent on the OL. Thankfully, this is just speculation on Schefter's part, no doubt fueled by "inside info" from Revis' agent trying to pump up his value.
  11. Exactly. The Pats will set up some low level employee to take the fall, take a slap on the wrist from the NFL, and move on. Then Belichick will continue to find creative ways to gain an advantage, sometimes barely within, and sometimes outside of the rules. Neither Billy or the Golden Boy will get any on them.
  12. Certainly a possibility. YPC down each year is a bit of concern, but I cant say I have paid that much attention.
  13. The Bills don't need a cheap fix at Guard. They need the best Guard they can possibly find. That would be a start. Richie's career is over.
  14. I have some sympathy for him for sure. He got screwed by Marrone like everyone else he walked out on and probably did not get the type of influence he wanted in game planning or calls. Still, it is the business he has chosen and he is young and will rebound. I think some of his play designs were actually quite creative and with a better QB may well have worked more consistently. He was undone by poor QB play and horrendous OL play as much as anything. Still, the inability to adjust game plans when it was not working was a weakness, and he was routinely out coached by accomplished defensive coaches on the opposition. I think this is what you get with a young inexperienced coach in the NFL. Have to learn somehow.
  15. Exactly. The article title is very misleading and intended to be sensational but the is no meat behind it. Click bate. I heard the interview and she said they had no favorite going in at all. She did say they were surprised at how impressed they were with Ryan and he then became their favorite as evidenced that he was the first and only second interview. Nothing to see here.
  16. At least two number ones if not three would be my guess.
  17. I don't hate Doug Marrone or anyone else really. I was even of the mind he should get another year, and on balance doing a good job with the Bills. Once he quit on the team with his misguided power play, I am simply happy to see him dumpster diving to salvage what may be left of his career. F him. He no doubt by now is regretting his idiotic manuver. Hope it hurts and good riddance to a guy with apparently very low character, if you value loyalty as a charceter trait, which I do.
  18. Throwing more money into Orchard Park is just good money after bad at this point. Not a realistic option. Agreed. As great an environment for the fans that The Ralph has proved to be, locating the stadium there ranks as one of the two worst development decision of all time in Buffalo. The other being the Amherst location of the new ÜB campus. The same mistake can simply not be made again. That money needs to be invested in Buffalo, for the long term economic health of the region as a whole.
  19. I am not sure why people are concerned about this. Manuel is two years into a five year contract, with the final year being a team option. It is my recollection that under the terms of the new CBA and rookie wage scale, they are barred from renegotiating that contract until the final year, even if they wanted to which I am sure they don't at this point. Some have suggested that Parker may try to pull a Peters type deal, holding him out to leverage a trade. Exactly what leverage would you suggest EJ has right now? The idea is silly at this point. Way too much being read into this in my opinion. If he starts and has a great year this year, maybe there is a realistic conversation but I am afraid for EJ haters, he is a Bill for at least the next two years.
  20. He was credited with starting the wildcat. Hopefully we are not going to see that again.
  21. TE? What's a TE? Seriously though, I generally agree with your take on offense but much depends on who plays QB and what kind of skill set we see. I think EJ may fit in well with how Roman ran the offense with Kap two years ago. Some of the same skills - not as fast but at this point probably better in the pocket.(although far from perfect as we know) Running some pistol with read option looks may be what EJ needs and the Bills went away from it even before they benched him. As both SF and Washington used it, and how Seattle uses it, it is a run oriented offense. If they bring in a QB with a much more polished downfield throwing game, I would certainly expect a different focus, such as run, play action, mid/long throws, a la Joe Flacco, but this would not be EJ's strength at this point as we learned.
  22. Agree with this. Two questions: Will the new OC commit to installing an offense that can find ways to get him the ball to create those matchup problems? What is he worth in that role? Marrone answered a question in the end of year presser about Spiller saying that they looked at how Gaily used him and tried to do some of that, but you can't build an offense based on the players capabilities. That is a paraphrase, but what he said. I think that speaks volumes as to why players with special skills such as Spiller, M. Williams, Goodwin, and even Watkins to some degree did not contribute to the level they could have. At least on offense, Marrone seemed to be the master of the square peg in a round hole philosophy. We saw it on the OL as well. Roman has shown an ability to adapt his philosophy to the skills of the players he has at Stanford and at SF, so I am hopeful we will see a change in how our skill players are utilized.
  23. Thanks for the post. I find it totally believable actually given everything else we have heard about Marrone in the last few weeks. I love what Spikes brings to the team and I hope the Bills keep him.
