  1. I would like to disagree with you, but I think the team is shell shocked by what happened in Oakland, and it would seem unlikely they will be able to muster the confidence and cohesion they will need to play at a high level this week. Could be wrong of course. Rex may be able to motivate them this week, but it would be a tall order.
  2. No real reason to be optimistic here - depleted offense, rookie corner starting - but I am. I like their toughness. Bills squeak it out with good D and some Taylor magic.
  3. Des Lewis was put in the active roster because they are running out of wide receivers healthy enough to play. No other option really. As for Thomas, this is certainly a move for future contribution but opportunistic and I like it. It is not too worrisome using an inactive spot on the 53 for this at this point in the season. They had to sign him to the active roster as he was already on Detroit's practice squad.
  4. Thanks. Sorry for the rough formatting, but my computer was behaving very badly with this app for some reason.
  5. I appreciate your perspective, but mine is just different. I love Buffalo Bills football. I loved it during the AFL championshipyears, during the OJ era, in the brief resurgence under Joe Ferguson, and certainly in the revival in the late 1980's and in the 1990's. I even loved it in all the down years in between. I have been frustrated, infuriated, broken hearted, and exulted. In the end, I just enjoy the process. I enjoy watching the year unfold - through free agency, the draft, training camp, and the season. I feel connected, through the community of Bills fans and to the Buffalo area, even though I have not lived there for nearly 30 years. If there were no Bills, I doubt I would watch any NFL football at all. I would certainly prefer a dominant team, a return to the glory of the Jim Kelly era. I still hope and expect for that to happen. However, I do not define my enjoyment of the team on playoffs and never did. If that were sole reason for being interested, I would have given up long ago. What I do expect is entertaining football, for the team to be competitive, for the ownership, the management, the coaches, and the players to give it their all to be winners. When that does not happen, yes I am pissed. I think the OP very effectively pointed out that, yes, we have a pretty good team, a very competitive team. Will they make the playoffs? Who knows - steep hill to climb. Whatever happens, I am enjoying the process. Tyrod is not perfect by any means, but he is loads of fun to watch. The Defense is talented and dominating at times, but frustratingly inconsistent. Can the keep it together? Again who knows, but I am going to be tuning in to find out. In the end, all this really represents is a pleasant diversion. Its not life and death folks - just entertainment. Be entertained, or not. I choose to enjoy the ride, but to each his own.
  6. Outstanding post. Thank you.
  7. Your posts are not worth refuting. STFU.
  8. i am thinking he would be hard to understand, what with talking through his butt hole and all.
  9. It seemed to me that Shaq barely played. He did make a great play on a run, powering inside his blocker and lunging at the runner to take him down by the feet when he was breaking outside. That play would have gone for some yards. Size, strength, speed and athleticism of Shaq on display there. He is going to be a stud. He is just not getting many opportunities right now.
  10. Exactly. I found the win very impressive myself. On the road against a desperate team, and their defense played lights out in the second half to preserve a win, with their offense limping without Woods and McCoy. Gilislee did a fine job, but is not the same threat McCoy is. I thought the line performed admirably without Eric, especially in the run game. This is how late season games are won. Now if Woods is out long term, and Watkins cannot return, I would doubt their ability to complete a playoff run, but I am happy with this win.
  11. I do not see anyone suggesting the offensive play calling was the only reason they lost. It was a factor when they were still on n it.
  12. Those plays have a very poor probability of success to WRs that far down the depth chart. No timing and poor skills. Yes, take a shot here and there, but they tried it too many times with the game still in reach.
  13. I totally agree with the OP. Very poor play calling all game I was ready to shoot myself after the halfback option. Way too many long ball shots to 5th and 6th string receivers I have no idea what they were thinking.
  14. I would have loved it if they could have gotten a reasonable deal for Gilmore. He shows every sign of having checked out. F him.
  15. If you are referring to my post, that is not at all what I meant. It was actually meant to support the idea that all the focus on Rex ruining the defense as evidenced by lack of sacks is bull. Sorry for the lack of clarity.
  16. I guess that just goes to show you how relatively meaningless sacks are as a stat.
  17. True enough. Not that anyone cares on witch hunt Tuesdays. For the record, 2 of their top 3 receivers were out on Sunday and the third was clearly hobbled. Number 4(Salas) is also on IR. The Bills were literally playing numbers 5 and 6 on the depth chart in key roles, and everyone is surprised the passing game does not look good. No teams go that deep and no QBs look good in that scenario.
  18. This loss is not on Tyrod. Clearly on the D and some of the most unimaginative play calling I have seen. A Lynn got owned yesterday. So did Thurman if he was actually calling the defense.
  19. Exactly. He threw his shoulder into Williams neck/ head. Should be suspended but will not be because NFL talk of player safety is just that - talk.
  20. I really could not care less what happens to Tom Brady, now or in the future.
  21. He has already lost this team if you watched them "play" Monday night. I guess he is not quite the coaching genius he has been made out to be.
  22. No doubt they need to up their game for Brady. Who doesn't? But could it be that some of your quoted stat is due to the Bills defense actually being pretty good?
  23. That has been the problem with Salas his whole career so far. Can't stay on the field. Too bad because he looks good when he plays and they could really use him.
  24. I guess the question would be how much credit do the Patriots get for shutting out the Texans with the same line up the previous week? Follow up question - how much credit do the Texans get for dominating the weakest division in football? This is all BS.
