  1. The drops have reached a point of concern but if you look at how little he saw the ball in college it should not surprise. Work, work, and more work is what Knox needs. He has size and he had some speed too. He blocks well and he gets open. Yesterday he dropped a ball and then he made a brilliant one handed catch. He can be a beast running in the open field and he has blown up a few DBs this year. I like him and I say keep on developing him. I’m not impressed with Kroft or Smith. Sweeney has done ok in his limited reps. I would not hesitate to take a TE if the right one is there.
  2. Agree. Another poster said it was a bad route and that 8 of 10 times he runs a better route and we get a TD. It looks like the corner had great coverage, got inside and made the play. I wish the solution was as simple as play Duke Williams. The offense needs playmakers. A star WR is a priority.
  3. Why did he run a bad route? Fourth down and game on the line, why would he not do his best? This cannot happen.
  4. I understand the math and the risk assessment in detail and I can say it with confidence. I looked at your reference. Still comes down to a judgement call. The key to assessment of the risk is to predict the likelihood of getting the ball back, with adequate time, two times if the conversation fails. We do risk assessment all the time in my work. I am considered by my peers to be a subject matter expert on risk assessment for product development program. There is not an exact science here. Even with your referenced document as guidance. I conceded (multiple times) it was worth the gamble. Since McD succeeded he would have been faced with another big decision if we scored. That is, play for the tie or go for two again.
  5. Look, I understand the call, the math, and the logic. I did not think they were going to get two more possessions if that 2 pointer failed. Seven minutes is borderline against Baltimore. I say that because the odds of recovering an onside kick are minuscule in today’s NFL. Also, Baltimore has a fine offense and strong run game. In addition our two minute offense has not shown good clock management. Its great we got the 2. It was a gamble worth taking. Percentage wise it was the riskier option but we had the right play and we executed. Great. Ok. Out now.
  6. Disagree. That’s fine. It’s was ok because it worked. Of course they did not get that extra possession did they? Even with 50+ yards of penalties in their favor on their last possession they did not score Down by 9 with 7 minutes left and you think they were going to stop Baltimore, score another TD, recover an insides kick or somehow get the ball back again, and then score a FG? Not likely. McD choose the risky path, it worked. Good for him. I would have done the same but I would also admit it was extremely high risk if you miss that 2pointer.
  7. Pretty negative post. The offense was not very good true, but we did move the ball and we had four chances from the red zone to win or tie. Baltimore bullied us a bit but we ran on them. Dropped passes and bad pass blocking hurt us as much as anything Baltimore did. Hopefully the Bills learned something today because they basically just played a playoff game and they have 3 more before the season ends.
  8. Technically it was the wrong call. If you miss it you are 9 behind - so another TD plus 2 points doesn’t get you a tie and requires yet a third possession which there was not enough time for. If you make it, which they did, you can tie with a TD and PAT, or win the a TD and another 2 pointer. Since they made it all is forgiven. Had they missed it there would have been a bigger debate. The explanation can can only be momentum, which seems odd since they were pushed backwards from the two yard line and took 4 downs to score.
  9. Shut down? Hardly. The offense clearly got run over by a mean and nasty defense. Overall I think the Bills gave it a good game, they had a bad first half and still they had a chance to take the game in the end but came up short. This game highlighted the need for a better LT (move Dawkins to RT) and a true stud WR.
  10. This will be the first time watching the great and powerful Lamar for a full game. I’ve seen the highlights, he is impressive. I think we can win if course. This is a big game indeed. No prediction, hoping the Bills fans make a difference today. The nation is watching so maybe we have a breakout game. .
  11. The “experts” in the media had Darnold and Mayfield rated top two, Rosen and Allen as next two. Allen being the likely 4th place guy due to to his lesser pedigree. Lamar was “the other guy” who could get drafted in the first round- a consolation to teams that did not have a prime pick. Looking at the draft order, most scouts and GMs agreed with the media projection.. Today Lamar, the last in the class, is the toast of the draft, a superstar in year 2. Allen still gets a lot of negative press, despite his accomplishments in the W-L column. Mayfield and Darnold - well the media expert still hope to see them develop since the have pitched them so hard. Rosen is lost in Miami.
  12. Curious comments. Buffalo never grew on the scale of Chicago. Economically what happened to Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit - I assume you mean the end of factory/heavy industrial production jobs - also happened in Chicago ... they just have more a diverse economy to pick up the slack. I think Buffalo is in a rebirth phase.
  13. To make the OP feel better- I lived in Buffalo. I lived in Baltimore. Baltimore has more problems by far. It’s politics are killing it from inside out. There are nice parts to both but I honestly think Buffalo is nicer, cleaner, safer, more fun, and is on an upswing. Right now Buffalo just has a better vibe. Baltimore is rotting. Sorry to say. And there is no comparison between the Md and NY in beauty. New York State is lovely. MD has no Great Lakes, no Finger Lakes, nothing to compare to NY wine country, no Adirondacks, no Catskills,. MD is plane Jane. Sailing on Chesapeake Bay and eating crabs are ok though. Buffalo is cold in the winter so you ski, sled, skate. Baltimore is cold in the winter and yet has little winter sports because too little snow and no mountains, mostly flat terrain. Baltimore is very hot and humid in the summer. Lots of little rivers and inlets from the bay add to humidity. Buffalo was fabulous weather in the summer. Cool breezes off of the massive Lakes.
  14. 50-% at home and on a good roll …
  15. Don't like the red on red. Home team in winter, wear the classic Blue jersey with white pants fercrisakes
  16. No. The Watkins apologists can't blame Tyrod for his seasons with the Rams and Chiefs. Yes, he is good but he is injured too much. We need a WR that is better than good. Lets draft our own guy and "trust the process".
  17. Good guy. I wish him the best.
  18. While WR is a big need there is no need to force it in round 1. We also need OT and Edge.
  19. We could not stop the run. We fell behind. We got beat up.
  20. Jacksonville should not have an NFL franchise.
  21. This post is chock full of ridiculous statements. You play the schedule your given. You always play to win. Case closed.
  22. Classic. You really are Wayne Arnold.
