I can see what McD is doing. Keep the rhythm going and player the starters, make them learn and execute the game plan as usual. Play Allen and Singletary and any nicked up players only 1 or 2 series. It’s what Levy did, and most teams do. Play the rest of the starters only up to halftime and pull them gradually. Second half play the backups. Try to win but more important is keep the players in their rhythm. Of course if anyone gets injured he will be crucified but that true with most aspects is coaching.

Everyone understands the analysis of the playoff rankings. I get that winning will mostly like nit change our slot at 5. I think that this game was about more than that. Therefore, I disagree with the point if the thread. I actually think the point of the thread is wrong. This game was important to win for all the reasons I stated. Oh, wait till next year, right?

This game was critical to set the tone between the two teams going forward. They knew they dodged a bullet against us in Buffalo. This was the game to make a statement. Instead another loss. Brady is 31-1 against us. They have beats us for 2 straight decades. McD is now 0-6 and in the same as every coach since Levy. Why do think any game against these guys is not important? Beating them is an urgent priority. The fans are correct to react and the players better learn they are several rings on the ladder below the legit contenders. Making a wildcard is nice but this was our first playoff game.

The Bills loss can be summed up in two words...
Bob in STL replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. That was good. But the last four plays in the red zone tell the story. Missed a wide open receiver in the end zone on 2nd. Took a sack on 3rd. Bailed out of the pocket and threw up a prayer on 4th. Didn’t get a lot of help but missed the play that was there. . -
I don’t think I have ever been as disappointed after a Pats* loss as today. I thought we could win and change the fortunes of each franchise. I really did. Game time comes and they blocked better and had long grinding drives. They tackled better. They made more plays. Especially on 3rd and 4th down and on their last 8 point drive. Brady was better than Allen. Allen had some impressive moments but he missed open receivers and took sacks. Sure, he was under more pressure but he left points on the field in every quarter.

I can’t blame the game plan when they didn’t execute. Tackling, Blocking, throwing ... all were below par. Not good enough to win in Foxboro. They need to be better than they were today. Allen missed a lot of throws again. He took sacks too. -

Never like that song, even when it came out. Calling for your Momma while in fear hardly sounds inspiring. -

Russ Salvatore letter to the editor in 2018
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is all the Russ Salvatore stuff? I was unaware that he said anything against the Bills Organization. This is a shocker. For those how don't know him he is a famous Restaurant and Hotel owner. He owns Russell's on Transit and formerly owed Salvatore's Italian Garden's on Transit. I have met him several times, used to deal with him a lot back in the 70's. Never had problem with him in business or socially. He has always been a generous and kind from what I can tell. He has also been a staunch supporter of anything Buffalo and a philanthropist as well. Oh, and he is too old to be a "Boomer" for those of you that think that matters. -
Why not? Do you think it’s easy to walk into the NFL with no experience and no connections and compete with other ego driven sharks? Marone burned them. They listened to Brandon and got burned (Rex Ryan) again. They figured out Brandon and Whaley and got rid of the whole lot of them. They finally got some sound advice from somewhere, which led to hiring McDermott and Beane. Who would you have hired? Why not give them credit for hiring two very bright people to run the team? Why do they not deserve credit? They are intelligent and classy people. Why not recognize their effort and commitment?

Josh Allen - week FIFTEEN report card
Bob in STL replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
C+ against a killer defense, increased to a B due to his leadership and ability to win. This was a high pressure game and he made enough plays. His supporting cast held him back at times. -
I thought his constant harping on Steelers injuries was over the top and he could have talked more about the Bills. He threw out a few accolades to the Bills rebuild but mostly questioned Allen’s play and our receiver corps. Not that he was wrong, but it got old. Michaels had nothing good to say about us and is clearly disappointed to see us move into higher echelons of the NFL. He was the more disappointing of the two. The country picked Bills, none of the panel of experts did though. Typical for our team.

Classy Pats* fans force relocation of Mahomes girlfriend
Bob in STL replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes indeed. I was in Buffalo for the Pats* game. There were several Pats* fans in our section and one right next to me with his wife. We talked. They won as usual. After the game he said it was nice to sit next to a nice Bills fan. They are not all bad but many of them are. -
Classy Pats* fans force relocation of Mahomes girlfriend

I travel a lot. Been to NFL games in 12 stadiums. I have been traveling to New England for business monthly for the past 8 years. They. are absolutely the rudest, most entitled, and most obnoxious fans in the country. Every fan base has some bad apples, but New England’s are the worst I have ever seen. You can’t even say something good about another team in hotel bar without some obnoxious jerk making comments. . -
Week 15: Bills at Steelers on SNF
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope the Bills learned to start fast and not be in awe of anybody. They could have beaten the Ravens if they made just a few more plays. This is is a very big game for our program. I do not want to stumble into the playoffs by beating the Jets at home. I want to beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.
