Worried about Cook……is it too early?
Bob in STL replied to streetkings01's topic in The Stadium Wall
Duke was picked very close to these two. Duke was a 3rd round pick at 77 overall, Moss 3rd round 86th overall, Cook was 2 round and 63 overall. -
Both have been excellent. I picked the defense due to consistency, team play, and handling injuries. The DL is noticeably the most improved unit on the team so far, and we are playing practice squad tackles some of the time. The DBs are very young and holding up well considering the injuries to 4 of the 5 starters. The LBs have been exceptional. The offense is mostly Josh and Diggs. Injuries at WR and OL have slowed down point production a bit in the past few weeks, but they are still producing and moving the ball. I think the interior OL can use more power and skill and has to be upgraded. Running back production is pretty much just Singletary.

I check that and you are correct. I didn't see him in the Titans game. Probably partying too much during that game. Singletary has earned the respect not to be bench for fumble/drop. He had a good game. Maybe Cook fumbles in practice or maybe the coaches don't like the way he prepares? He is definitely getting the rookie treatment from the coaches. I want him to get more chances too. -
NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
He did today. He stopped the bleeding and they shut them down in the second half. Actually every game he tweaks and fine tunes the opening defense. I think he is very adept at it. Last year, sometimes we didn't match up in the trenches but the editions of Von Miller, Jordan Phillips, Settle, Jones and Lawson have helped a lot. This defense at full strength will be even better. -

Shakir played his first second NFL regular season game today and he was not shaky at all. Agree on Cook, we need to see more of him before we judge him. -

Clearly, he didn't think they could hold a 3 point lead. Great way to lose the locker room. -
Milano and Edmunds fit this 2 LB defense. I am so glad we have them.

Crowder in a boot...time to call sanders?
Bob in STL replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I might add that I thought Crowder played like a NY Jet today. I counted 4 drops. Not the production we need from a slot receiver. -

Uhhm. Shakir played today and caught 2 passes. He has been on the 53 man roster all season. Hodgins is the likely call up. -

Or the fact he essentially told his defense he didn't trust them to hold the 3 point lead. -
Totally disagree. A field goal does him a lot of good, it gives then the lead. Then you Trust your defense to hold the lead. He basically told his defense he didn't trust them. If he must play for a TD, a better call would have been a run, if it failed then Bills would have started very deep in their own zone and again - you TRUST your defense.

NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread

I could have easily not hit him at all. He took a step, slowed down, then took another step and hit him anyway. Not only did he hit him, he wrapped him up and tackled him. Earlier in the game Allen took a head hit and talked to the ref about it, he was in their head. How many times has this call gone against us? Get a clue, stop listening to "announcers", you cannot late hit a QB. If you do you will get called 9 put of 10 times. -

Great win. Come from behind on the road in bad weather against a good team and an elite player (Lamar). Winning a one score game feels great and they did it right, leaving no chance for the Raven to come back. I counted 10 drops today: Knox (1 that was intercepted), Crowder was dreadful (4), Motor (1), Diggs (1), Davis (2), Cook (1). I also counted 4 tipped balls, the one that Knox missed was the interception. On the positive side was Josh's game management and his critical plays (especially the key runs), and the defense in the 2nd half. Shakir looked good in his first game - 2 catches and YAC, plus some key blocks. I think Motor made some big plays despite the fumble. Game balls to Poyer and Josh. Down 20-3 and we win 23-20. We come back home and get ready for the Stillers who befuddled us last year. This time will be different. -
Bills Never Win Close Games, Bad Coaching!
Bob in STL replied to DieHardBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Now it is Harbaugh who is under fire. Going for a TD instead of an automatic FG, then the turnover. -
City and NT.

Sure. But winning by one point is a W too. I rather win all the close ones.

2020 doesn’t really matter as much. So, we are 6-7 in the past three seasons, hardly the stuff of champions. The current streak that is more representative of this teams one score performance is 0-7, which was extended by last weeks game. Take off the Bills Fan lenses and you see missed opportunities by the players and questionable decisions by the coaches in that string.

I don’t see the problem with Singletary, other than he lacks the high gear. Singletary is getting his touches, he is getting a lot of short passes too. He is decent at pass pro as well. If the Bills want to run better then they should be drafting interior OL in the spots the are using for RB, and then draft RB’s where they are taking all their OL projects.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
His head was slammed to the turf in the tackle by Milano. He had no back pain issue on injury report. Now he gets hit and severely concussed four days later. Add it up. -
What is going on in Miami? Tua “cleared concussion protocol “ and played the second half. Lots of us are leary of back injury story. Then we hear reports of the nflpa investigating the doctors. He plays again four days later and Bamm. What is going on with that team? This is terrible. I wish him well.

??? Not trending positive from last week to this week. Davis is still an issue. Plus we added Benford (he will be out), Kumerow (he will be out), Bates, and Lewis. Oliver, Poyer, Knox, and Morse are still not at full practice either. They might play and be hobbled, like Davis was. Knox and Davis did not do enough last week. Hopefully we get these four, plus Davis and Bates, all back.

Was Jaquan Johnson really that bad in his first career start?
Bob in STL replied to Wayne Arnold's topic in The Stadium Wall
PFF numerical rankings are a mystery to me. Johnson played ok but he made a few huge and costly mistakes which are likely reflected in his low score.
