Tua has improved. Better support around him is a big reason why. Allen is elite and has the ability to make others around him better. How many GMs would right now pick Tua over Allen? Not many is my guess. This will be settled on the field. Miami has the big edge tomorrow with home field and they are catching Buffalo missing many starters on defense and banged up overall. If Buffalo wins it should temper some of the Tua hype. If Miami wins, the Tua talk will continue to grow. Get used to a renewed rivalry. It will be Buffalo and Miami battling for AFCE dominance once again.

Do you have a problem with fans standing the entire game?
Bob in STL replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have stood for entire games a few times. Never because I wanted to. -
Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are dozens of possibilities. Hyde has had neck problems for quite awhile. -
Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury

True. The 2nd opinion might just verify and support the first one. I thought I read that he has had neck trouble for awhile. Either way, think positive. The backups are decent players. -

He it could be much worse than a week or two. Hope not. -
I accept the fact that Tre and now Dane are out and replaced by rookies, we really need those safeties (Poyer and Hyde) to be ready.

We are a pass first team and that is in alignment with what works in modern football. We have to run enough to keep the defense from focusing on the pass, because defenses will do that every time. We cannot expect Allen to make every play. We also need to run better on short yardage and when we need to chew up some clock.

Panthers signing Raheem Blackshear off PS
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought Blackshear looked good. He never got to play with or against the 1's. Best wishes to him. Who knows, he may be back again. -
Another great Rockpile Review by Shaw.

688 games started by our own draft picks since 2017
Bob in STL replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Teams that change GMs a lot, like we did in the drought era (5 GMs from 2000 thru 2016), would never be able to get this stability. It takes a well run organization, all on the same plan, and with a singular plan. -
Exactly. Pressure from he middle to keep Tua from stepping up in the pocket with pressure from the ends to get him panic and rush. If we can keep our LBs in the passing/crossing lanes it help with cutting off the YAC. So having Milano AND Oliver would help a lot. Not to mention Hyde for the deep coverage.

AJ Epenesa Is really playing well
Bob in STL replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
The third year is usually the year a player takes a big step, if it is gonna happen at all. Lets not forget his first year was the Covid year and that stunted development for him. Having Von Miller around can't hurt either. -
Actually his pass blocking is decent and he did a good job chipping Donald in week #1. I agree that he is going to have to get better overall. As a runner he just seems to slow, he lacks the speed burst and the vision to find the holes.

NFL Week #2 9/18/2022 - Post Game Thread - Titans at Bills
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
How do you know this? -
I loved watching him at USC, then even more as a Buffalo Bill. I was a huge fan. I remember the 70's when for a short period the Bills, Sabres and Braves were all strong teams. Since the murder of his his wife and her boyfriend I prefer no association. I try not to judge because I only know what was in the media and it sure paints a compelling case against him. The trial looked like a circus to me. His money helped him immensely. If I saw him in the Courtyard I would not have acknowledged him. I wish he was a not out parading as a Bills fan.

9/19/22 Gameday Titans at Bills Week 2 Pregame Thread MNF!
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
And we are missing top CB (Tre), our top DT (Oliver), a solid run stuffing DT (Settle), and plus our #2 WR (Davis). I am nervous about this game, as usual. I am nervous before every game. -
None of this was true last year. We are a pass first team and wind and rain hurt us last year. Maybe this year will be different.
-
The 9 on pass blocking seems too low. He cannot block Donald 1 on 1, no one can do that consistently. The plan was to give Bates help, slide right and force Donald inside and then either Moss or Singletary was there to chip him and slow him down. Josh was going with a planned quick release and it really worked.

They are looking two weeks ahead. Never good in the NFL.

What do you mean weak corners? Are you talking about low years experience? Why are you calling them weak? What is "lower" safety help and how does it effect the DL? Do you mean less safety help? Or do you mean bring Poyer down into the box? It all starts with the DL. A strong Bills pass rush will force the Titans to slow the game down by running Henry more and try to keep our offense off of the field. That could be countered by adding a 3rd LB in place of the Nickel back. Also expect to see Shaq Lawson dressed to help set the edge on running downs. I think we will see what more stout DT's, like Settle and Jones, can do for us against a strong running team. I think we have the players to match up physically. Smart substitution and execution are needed, as always. Agree, if the offense is clicking and scoring we should be ok.
