  1. Interesting comments. I have to say I would not have been happy keeping Fewell as HC because I wanted to see Cowher (pipe dream), Gruden (pipe dream 2), or Marty S (could have happened). I am happy with Chan on the offensive side of the ball. I hated the decision to go 3-4. I think you need to have some of the pieces in place BEFORE you make a change. We had no 3-4 players of any consequence and we still do not. I think the jury is still out on Edwards as a DC, he has very little to work with.
  2. He was a stud yet Andy Reid gave him ZERO carries in 4 games? Does this make sense? We saw Bell compete against 3rd and 4th string players. Promising at times is as far as I go.
  3. How does Buffalo get screwed?
  4. Manning was a better prospect out of college for one. Manning had more pure talent and was a better passer. He played on crappy teams and was always running for his life. Fitz may be a poor mans Manning but he is not as good as Manning Sr.
  5. Promo, I did not forget or ignore anything. Just asking the question. I can tell you this, the media would have blasted buffalo if they kept Fewell but now, as a NY Giant coordinator, he is the next rising star. What about Richie Kotite?
  6. I agree. It sure does look like he has a way of motivating players though.
  7. I just hope we don't lose the #2 pick to them. I can't believe I am saying that?
  8. Right now Perry Fewell is a hot commodity in the NFL. He is the rising star young coordinator. Perry Fewell did an excellent job last year as interim head coach. He gave the ball to Fitz. They won a few games. The defense was opportunistic. They played hard for him right to the end. When the season ended Fewell he was given the obligatory look as HC and then the Bills moved on. Who would have been happy if the Bills named him as HC? Be honest. I know I was looking for the big name (for me it was Cowher or Gruden or Marty S).
  9. Wow! You killed my point and yet we agree.
  10. I remember that game and Preston and a bad Bills team Although our front 7 was still better than the garbage we have today.
  11. Easy. No pass rush. Even when we blitz we fail get pressure. No excuse for dropping the few interception opportunities that we have but the DBs hold up well considering opposimng QBs have all day.
  12. More feared? They are not feared at all! Expressed mathematically: More x 0 = 0
  13. Bills welcome the home cooking: Bills 27 - Lions 20
  14. Calling Spiller a bust after 8 games = ZERO Credibility for you.
  15. There were about 10 big IFs in the game. Our DBs are just not making plays this season.
  16. Thoughts: 1. Edwards is working with quite possibly the worst front 7 in the history of the Bills franchise. 2. Edwards deserves a full year. Firing him sends a bad message to any aspiring young coach who might be considered in the future. Chan brought him here and Chan needs to work with him. 3. If Edwards is replaced after the season then lets bring in someone with a proven and successful track record. I say no to Catavolos.
  17. Really hard to say what our record would be. We would be a losing team, and we would be boring, and we would have no hope. We can safely say those things.
  18. What else is left? I guess that sums it up. We played good enought to win, yet bad enough to lose.
  19. Those were bad plays but come on, the game was far from over after those plays. We had more chances and did not get it done.
  20. Depends on who is there when we draft. It will be hard to pass on Luck. Everyone knows that "Buffalo needs Luck".
  21. This loss can be broken down to some basics: 1. Inexcusable blocked extra point - Mathematically it is 21-21 without this play. 2. Turnovers - We had more than they did by 3-1. Tough to win on the road when you turn the ball over. 3. Front 7 - they had great pressure on the QB, we had none at all. 4. The loser factor - mystery holding on Spiller's long run; dropped interceptions, dropped passes, the punt with eyes to the goal line. Hey, at least they are keeping it interesting.
  22. I agree. We may actually have better talent if you exclude the front 7. If Luck is on the board when we draft it will be difficult to pass on him. Once he is off the board you go with the best front seven players, doesn't mater if they are DT, DE, ILB, or OLB ---load up. We need to bring in some Free Agents too. Our front 7 is shi#.
  23. That was me Tom, I said it. Most games in the NFL come down to one or two plays. Today, I think the blocked extra point was the killer. It was a 21-21 game without that play. We may have found another way to lose but things like that should not happen. Good teams have players that make big plays. Today, the biggest miss was Bryan Scott's dropped INT. We could have gone up by 12 or 13 with that play. The biggest talent difference between the teams is the defensive front 7. They have some studs; we we have Kyle Williams and thats about it. Bottom line -- we need better players.
  24. Agreed. It sounded like a road game. Thanks a lot Southern Ontario. I heard they already started to pour into the parking lots of Western NY shopping malls this past weekend. I can recall the horrible site of Canadians leaving behind piles of litter (shopping bags, wrappings, boxes) as they sneak their Holiday gifts back to Canada. Nice.
  25. We can build around Fitz while we are developing a franchise QB. Fitz is a good QB and an excellent backup. We will never get to the upper echelon with Fitz unless we can put together the 1985 Chicago Bears defense to go with a powerful running game. I like Fitz a lot but his accuracy, or lack thereof, is a prominent reason why we did not get a WIN this week or last week.
