  1. Sure but Edelman was a 7th round QB converted to WR. I also don’t think he’d have anywhere close to the same success he had in NE if it wasn’t for Brady. Also I never recall anyone putting Edelman among the top 10 WR’s…. Maybe not even Top 15. I think we can also talk about WR’s like Amendola and Hogan to a lesser extent who never put up big numbers but were most effective in NE. You get where I’m going… Much like Brady Josh doesn’t have a WR1 either. Instead he has a trio of versatile slot WR’s. Your point about Rice is fair - but his rookie season yardage is greater than the output than any current Bills WR. It might even be greater than the single output of any WR THIS season. Now what did PM and TB have that Josh also might have too? An elite TE as their primary option and a defense that balled in the post season. Is Kincaid that guy? We don’t know yet but he’s shown flashes and there’s a chance that the defense could be better than last season .
  2. I think you’d be hard pressed to call Julian Edelman a WR1 on most teams. Ditto for Rashee Rice Teams that won Super Bowl have had stronger WR’s than what Josh currently has…at least until point. The one exception might be Kansas City in 2023. They had a WR room that largely resembles what Buffalo currently has.
  3. Brady in 2015, 2017 and 2019 Mahomes in 2023 and 2024 Neither had a true WR1 like Josh
  4. I’m not saying I agree with it, but for the Bills to succeed Josh is going to have to get the most out of a group of wide receivers who have mostly been a WR3 in their previous stops and a polarizing prospect in Coleman. Josh will need to show that he can elevate this talent like great quarterbacks have done in the past.
  5. If Flores was as verbally abusive and toxic as Tua alleges, I’m pretty sure he should have apologized. Also he never directly admitted he was wrong. You could interpret this quote different ways including your interpretation which was that he admitted he was wrong without actually saying it. To me, it sounds like he’s trying to come as well as he can without admitting wrong doing. “Look, I’m human. So that hit me in a way that I wouldn’t say was positive for me,” Flores told reporters Tuesday. “At the same time, I’ve got to use that and say ‘Hey, how can I grow from that? How can I be better?’ “Do I feel like that’s me? No. But how can I grow from that situation and create a world where that’s not the case that anyone says about Brian Flores?” Again, it speaks to the strength of his statement though I’m not sure if it was genuine sentiment as much as it was smart PR. Also Brian Flores never crossed paths or worked with Bill Parcels.
  6. To McDaniels credit, I think he did an amazing job with Tua and that he’s getting the most out his QB. Of course, having Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle helps - but he designed an offense around Tua’s strength that hides what he doesn’t do well. I think as a head coach, MM will often get too much praise. But as a play caller, he’s very good
  7. If you read the whole Outkick article by former Dolphins beat reporter Armando Salguero, Flores wasn’t the only one who questioned Tua. Even his own owner tried moving on from the player he drafted 2 seasons earlier. https://www.outkick.com/sports/brian-flores-responds-tua-tagovailoa-calling-him-terrible-person So while I don’t dispute what Tua said about Flores brash communication style (which previously had been reported by Armando), he was far from the only one in Miami Gardens to question Tua. Also it makes you wonder whether the whole “Flores was toxic” thing is a false narrative orchestrated in hindsight. For example I remember after 2020, Flores ranked highly among players for most sought after head coaches. Rumors were that DeShaun Watson wanted to play for him. He seemed to be almost like Mike Tomlin - a gruff hardass coach that players respected. When he was fired, many in the media were outraged. Some (including Flores) claiming his firing was a result of discrimination. Again, I don’t think Tua is going to take shots at Flores just to make him look bad. I do wonder if his perspective and recollections are as extreme as he is depicting. It seems like a very well crafted response. There’s one thing that missing though - at no time did he apologize to Tua. That leads me to believe there is still bad blood and the positive things he said about him at the onset were performative
  8. The only answer is Josh Allen. I’m not saying it’s fair, but it’s true. Take a look at the WR roster. The Bills are clearly counting on Josh to elevate the talent rather than the other around.
  9. This is called a “pipe dream.”
  10. Everything I’ve read about Coleman is that he’s good in zone coverage but needs help with route running to consistent beat m2m. Still should be a red zone target even some are down on him after the drop
  11. The same members of the Bills week 1 OL started every game and also played nearly every snap together last season. I don’t think any other team has been this healthy. I’d love it if the solution was as simple as firing Ciano but there’s injuries on every NFL team. The Bills need the right players to step up
  12. I’m old enough to remember when it was a certainty that the 2023 Bills were going to lose to Dallas, Kansas City and Miami to finish 8-9
  13. Maybe it was adequate because Diggs was so good. There were a lot of question marks going into 2023 about WR. The data proved that Gabe Davis was occasionally effective but overall inconsistent. Shakir looked decent but didn’t always look like a starter. Then you had a bunch of other guys. He did little to address the position and instead drafted Dalton Kincaid. He’s been a good pick though I feel WR should have been a higher priority.
  14. I think there’s two positional groups that you can really criticize Beane about - DE and WR. You can point to both groups as being the reason why the team has stalled in the post season. The lack of investment in WR seems to be rearing its ugly head. Additions were limited to undervalued FA’s and mid-to-low round draft picks. Now they are going to be in a position where they need to find a WR1. It’s either going to take a huge chunk of cap space or a high draft pick. DE was not for lack of trying. Beane invested a lot of cap space and draft picks in the position and nothing really hit on a grand scale. If Rosseau is going to look like he did Sunday every week - that could change.
  15. Samuel is going to be fine.
  16. Probably not because it still leaves a big at RB this season. But it is a good reminder that you might not need to spend significant money on the Rb position
  17. No you can’t. If you cut them they are subject to waivers and many times draft picks are claimed by other teams. Veteran players are not subject to waivers and can sign with whatever team/PS they want.
  18. w What if your truck hadn’t passed inspection for 17 years?
  19. Not so sure it was humility w/ Ralph. He didn’t like spending his money
  20. He had a RAS score of 9.36 out 10. Speed and athleticism definitely is not a problem. I think he’s like Dorian Williams in the sense that he can get fooled by misdirection leaving him out of paint on to make tackles. Still it was very encouraging to see his performance last night.
  21. It’s really not that unusual in the NFL. I’ve seen the “intelligent” fans on Twitter blame strength and conditioning. I’m positive it isn’t that or else all 5 of the Bills offensive lineman took every snap last season - a damn near anomaly. IMO it’s a lot of randomness and bad luck. Last season, it was extreme bad luck with all the injuries at linebacker and WR - positions that the Bills already had limited depth at. Football always has been a game of attrition. If you have the good luck to stay healthy, it’s a big advantage in the post season. If you can’t…like most teams…the ones that win usually find ways to overcome losses. Cincinnati had done a good job for a few post seasons as has Kansas City last year who lost an All-Pro in Joe Thuney in the game against the Bills.
  22. This is a pretty dumb stat. What’s the point here? That Josh can’t pass the ball near the goal line. Who cares when they get in the end zone at a high rate?
  23. LOL yes
  24. What this is telling me is that any WR not named Shakir, Samuel, Johnson or Hollins have a good chance at not making the roster.
  25. The drops last season were killers and they continue to be baffling. Cook was known as having “great hands” coming out of college
