Which realistic trade options should the Bills target?
JohnNord replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are zero names though some have reported the Bills were monitoring the CB trade market. I believe it was Ian Rappaport -
I don’t really think that’s the case though. Sanders is the player who has taken snaps away from Davis….not Knox. I think you’ll see more Beasley in his absence.
-
The Bills never would trade for Sanders anyway. I don’t think they make any moves at the deadline, but if they did, it wouldn’t be for a RB

Do people not realize that Gabriel Davis is a WR and not a TE?

Privacy for Josh Allen and Bills' players

I don’t disagree, I’m just saying that the fame and fortune is part of the allure to becoming a professional athlete - especially being a very good one. I don’t recall Michael Jordan or LeBraun James complaining about this…they understand that it comes with the territory. -
Very good write up from NYUP’s Ryan Talbot. He shares some potential trade targets for the Bills: https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2021/10/nfl-trade-deadline-2021-miles-sanders-andrew-norwell-among-10-buffalo-bills-trade-targets.html?fbclid=IwAR2GnjaeX7mcz0IBjinmNlMOrse9sPeEPmeGxDlUF2vmwXwvBofrgDHCTLU Most fans don’t want hear this but I feel there is a very small chance they’ll trade for a player on the defensive line or at running back. While you certainly can make an argument that they need a better pash rusher, I think that the Bills are confident in what they already have at DL. I also think that the issues in the running game is more related to poor line play than actual talent at RB. That leaves three areas where I think they could make a move - OL, TE, and CB. Evan Engram is a name that has come up a few times in reports. However if you believe the reports the Bills don’t feel the injury will be too serious, then does it make sense to bring in another receiving TE like Edwards who’s not know for his blocking to take snaps away from Knox? In my opinion, I think Hayden Hurst might be a more realistic target. I think Guard play is a major weakness on the team and I would love it if the Bills traded for Andrew Norwell. Again, not so sure how realistic this would be. Finally I would welcome the addition of a CB like Kyle Fuller. I think the Bills are always looking to upgrade the secondary.

Privacy for Josh Allen and Bills' players
JohnNord replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Josh and I didn’t see the interview but if he did lament the loss of privacy as one of the most well-known athletes in the NFL, then I have very little sympathy for him. It’s not a Buffalo thing as much as it is a celebrity/athlete thing. If he thinks the loss of privacy is bad in Buffalo, try one of the larger metropolitan markets where it’s a lot more intense. Yes the privacy thing does really suck, along with other aspects of becoming a public figure or celebrity. But, there’s also a few good things as well - like a $256 million contract. It’s part of the deal The comparison to the 1990’s Bills doesn’t really correlate. It was a time before most people had internet, when there were no smart phones or selfies. Back then it was autographs, now people want selfies to post on Instagram so that they can get likes and followers. Also, my impression is that most people this forum don’t need this reminder. -
I think you are underestimating a few things: A. The sheer number of accusations and criminal complaints that have already be made against Watson. B. The nature of the sexual assault incidents C. The current climate and sensitivity toward this issue/accusations - including multiple accusations against high profile/powerful celebrities. There is no way that the NFL allows Watson to step on the field as an active competitor this season. Like I said…

Ok…how about TB winning all three games on the road last season before winning the Super Bowl. As someone else said, home field is probably the easiest path to the SB but not the only only one
-
Yeah I agree it helps. I just think of a team like Baltimore in 2019 who ran roughshod over just about the entire league and blew almost all of their opponents out of the water sans SF and Buffalo. Tennesee came into Baltimore, fresh off a big upset in NE, and beat the crap out them. So while a first round bye important, I think it’s not as much of a sure thing as some fans would like to believe

Good Article by Uncle Mike Florio. He is speculating that Houston is likely trading Watson before the deadline to Miami. Houston put this info out there as a way to either get Miami to give more or to get a team like PHIL or CAR to jump in an up the ante. Either way, it sounds like Watson will be traded https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/10/21/texans-apparently-are-trying-to-get-more-teams-to-the-table-for-deshaun-watson/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

You don’t usually see IOL trades at the deadline.
-
I think the 3 road loses had more to do with the opponents than the playoffs. 2017: The Bills were outmatched by a better Jacksonville team 2019: The Bills couldn’t stop DeShaun Watson 2020: The Bills were outmatched by a better KC Team

I didn’t know Sugar High Josh played defense
-
A little misleading considering that there used to be 2 byes in the playoffs. TB didn’t need a bye to win the Super Bowl. I think it helps but it’s far from a guarantee. It’s better to be healthy and peaking at the right time
-
It is…but it isn’t. Plenty of high profile organizations have suspended or cut ties with an employee when so many allegations like this have surfaced. You have to consider the current climate when it comes to this topic as well as the sensitivity to this issue. I’d be shocked if Watson was back anytime soon

I truly believe the Spirit of my Mom visited me Monday Night
JohnNord replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
It must have been a cool moment to feel that close to your mom. Maybe it was her way of telling you to “trust the process” 👍🏻 -
Probably…it all depends if/when he settles the civil cases and whatever the hell is happening with the grand jury. Lets just say he settles and doesn’t get criminal charges. The suspension is going to be interesting given the current climate and empathy to these incident. We aren’t taking about 1 high profile sexual assault accusation. It’s 20+. I think he’ll miss more than the typical 4 game suspension. So…best case scenario they might be looking at is 6 games into 2022.
