  1. I do agree about the current Bills team. But I think part of the reason for the difference is that 30 years ago there was noaccountability and players could be jerks in public. In 2022, with social media/internet/cameras everywhere you can’t get away with what you used to. Plus our society is way more litigious. Because of pressure from social media, players are at risk of losing sponsorships and other financial deals. The NFL and player agents have been much more proactive in training players how to cultivate a positive public persona. So in many cases players have been trained with how to handle themselves in public situations that won’t bring them bad press.
  2. Not having Poyer available on Sunday is going to hurt the Bills just like it against Miami
  3. I agree…many of us weren’t professional athletes but still were immature in our younger years and would probably struggle with being a professional athlete in our 20’s. It was likely even harder decades ago before so much training and dialogue was available through sports agency. I just have an issue with people characterizing and making judgements on Kelly by his actions 30-40 years ago. I also don’t care for people trying to bash him with discreet statement without providing details or context.
  4. Not as annoying as people saying: “I met Jim Kelly once 30 years ago. Let’s just say it was not good. I’ll leave it at that.”
  5. Yes but the Miami fans won’t admit it
  6. My uncle claims to have met many members of the late 80’s Bills teams at Sundowners in NF LOL
  7. What made him come off as arrogant? Did he deny you an autograph?
  8. Even back in McGee’s playing days, I’d be curious to see how much he considers “a small monthly allowance” 😂
  9. I waited for Bruce’s autograph at the mall - probably back in 1992. The line spanned the entire length of the mall - from one end to another. It was incredible. Unfortunately, Bruce was hired to sign from like 6-8 PM or something and it was going to be impossible to accommodate everyone. At one point probably right at 8:00, Bruce simply got up and walked away with his entourage. But unlike the parents who took to Twitter complaining about autographs at Training camp, we weren’t that disappointed and thought it was cool we got a chance to see Bruce up close as he walked away
  10. Why details when it’s more fun to be extremely vague?!?!?!?!?!?
  11. I wouldn’t be surprised… to be fair, back in the 80’s and 90’s athletes and entertainers could get away with being a ***** person and were often enabled. Jim has been fairly open about his issues in the past. I’d also agree that Jim has changed over the years, yet people want to drag ***** up from 30-40 years ago to disparage him. I see it a lot on Twitter and IMO a big part of it has to do with his political views. Ok…why?
  12. Exactly…but why leave that out there? Either share or don’t, but teasing it is just lame
  13. Why even bother with posts like this? Either share your story or don’t How was Jim Kelly’s camp? Was it actually helpful for you as a player or more of a chance to rub elbows with NFL stars?
  14. Yes, I’ve met several at event, training camp at Fisher, and autograph shows but also a few random public encounters. Back in the day I ran into Gabe Northern at Eastern Hills Mall. He was freaking huge and stood out like a sore thumb. He also had a pretty nice looking leather jacket. I immediately recognized him and he chatted for a few minutes. Very cool guy that didn’t seem to be bothered that he was recognized. I also got to talk to Dick Jauron at a special Training Camp VIP reception at Fisher. I was not happy with him as coach at the time but he couldn’t have been a nicer and more personable guy. After leaving the event that day I remember feeling pretty good about the direction of the Bills….little did I know!
  15. If NE truly believes Mac is their franchise QB why would they rush him back on the field as opposed to allowing him to heal? To salvage a few wins which might not mean anything at the end of the season? I think Belichick might be feeling the pressure from Kraft
  16. I really like him and thought he did an outstanding job in SF, but yeah he talks a huge game in the press and I don’t think he has the team to back it up.
  17. I was talking to a co-worker who is a big Bills fan. DaQuan is the type of 1TDT that Beane and McDermott have always wanted. They thought they were getting him in Star who massively unperformed on a big deal. Then they hoped Harrison Phillips could be that guy and while he played well at times I think they were looking for more consistent high end play Jones has been what the defense has been missing and I don’t think it’s a surprise that Edmunds, Milano, and even Taron have been flashing a bit more often against the run this season
  18. Many CB’s have made a successful transition to safety as they got older and lost a step, but this isn’t a move you make midsession. Especially for a player coming back off a torn ACL. At this point, keeping Tre on a pitch count is a much better than idea that trying a new position
  19. This is my point. Even if the Bills were to trade for a new RB, I don’t think it makes much of a difference in the run game because of the OL has been.
  20. He said it was for 2 seconds. It sounds more like stinger. He doesn’t think he had a concussion
  21. I’ve seen many Bills fans clamoring to trade for a new running back. I think that the bigger issue is that the offensive line just doesn’t win matchups. Watch how easily other teams are able to pick up 2-3 yards on 3rd and 1 and the Bills struggle to get 1 yard. In fact, the Bills OL is by far the worst run blocking unit in the league. So how is a running back going to fix that? Unless your running back is going to break a run like Saquon Barkley after getting hit in the backfield, I don’t see how a new RB is going to fix the problems on the offensive line.
  22. I wouldn’t put too much stock in this play. It’s like saying Matt Milano ALMOST had an INT. He didn’t make the play… But yeah I’m always concerned with Singletary fumbling and perhaps that’s one reason why coaches are hesitant to make him a true RB1
  23. This is a great sign… typically they don’t make players available for interviews in concussion protocol.
  24. The offensive line was probably the reason the Bills lost the game on Sunday. I know there were 3 backups in but they looked like trash. I really think that this could be their undoing this season…but it seems like when all 5 starters are healthy and in the lineup, they do ok. I’m hoping they can get their act together next week
  25. If your team isn’t good, the #1 see doesn’t mean much. Just ask Tennessee or Green Bay
