  1. It was that technique where they immediately cooled him down and that prevented serious spinal damage. It was a doctor downtown that was a pioneer at it that did it.
  2. I have a condo in Cocoa Beach. I'm in CA but many friends in Cocoa. I hope all is good for everyone. My company is based in Houston. It was massive devestation last week for many. It's terrible. Let's all hope it is not another disaster.
  3. It's cheap to live. Out here is San Francisco, a 1 bedroom starts at about $3800 a month and the median price to buy is approaching 1.5 million. They say that young people coming here now have zero chance of ever buying here.
  4. Buffalo is getting an incredible amount of positive press these days. I'm looking forward to getting back after about 5 years since my last visit. There is a great website called Buffalo Rising that chronicles the projects going on and articles from all over that pop up. I saw another positive article on there just today. Check it out: https://www.buffalorising.com
  5. I'm pretty consistent, but when the Pegulas took over and the threat of leaving ended we had that first game against the Dolphins. That was the biggest day in memory. And by memory I mean like 17 years.
  6. Looking at that, I feel nothing
  7. Same- I thought it seemed like a good story at the time. I had no idea what was ahead. Also, now we know the Pats likely cheated in that game so I take back any goodr thoughts I had for them and replace it with white hot hatred.
  8. I've been in the club seats a few times. It is nice to have no lines for anything. The only thing for me is that you feel removed from the action. I tend to walk up to the bar and then end up grabbing a beer and just watching the TVs inside. Same happens when I go to hockey games in a box.
  9. This is what happens after years of crap teams. It's not even about the football anymore- just the zany partying.
  10. Easy money. As I like to say- it takes money to take money.
  11. So incredibly lame. I recall turning it off in order to preserve my IQ.
  12. The article in Sports Illustrated several years back was terrific- very sad article, though. "All who knew him remember him in different ways. The clan, as a family man. The football players, as a tough jock. Then there are those who knew Kalsu on that terrible hill. They have the most painful and poignant memories of him. Fotias has trouble talking about Kalsu, his voice soft and filled with sorrow. So does Renner. He walked over to Kalsu's body lying outside the bunker and peered into his motionless face. He would see that face for years. Now, however, "I can't see the face anymore," Renner says. "I can see his silhouette. I can't see a lot of their faces, only their silhouettes. Renner is having trouble getting out the words. They come in a whisper. "I've thought of him every Memorial Day," he says. "In my heart, I pay homage to him. And Johnson. They are all very important." He closes his eyes and bows his head and quietly weeps."
  13. My vote would be Sanders but the Lions did have some success in the early 90's going to the NFC championship game and making the playoffs a few times after that.
  14. The thing about Sully is people hate him because he says negative things about the Bills, but the Bills are pretty much junk and have been for a while. It's just the truth and people don't want to hear it.
  15. At least it's not 14 kids with 14 different women
  16. I think they are talking about wins and playoffs, not support and attendance and Buffalo and San Diego are the top major cities for team futility as of recent. I think there ESPN magazine had an article on this too. Cleveland would be tops but the Cavs championship helped them.
  17. I had no problem with him. 16 years is a long run- no shame for Solomon.
  18. did someone say Bay Area shack? Here you go: http://blog.sfgate.com/ontheblock/2015/09/21/this-is-what-350000-buys-you-in-san-franciscos-crazy-housing-market/
  19. Great move to hold on to it. I know exactly where that is. Id sell now- give your daughter a nice chunk of change and have them move to another city and pay cash for a big house.
  20. Wise- I've been here 23 years and we are looking to get out. It's just too damn expensive and not worth it. I'd advise anyone thinking of moving here not to. I think there was a stat recently that said 40% of people are actively looking to leave the Bay Area and it is mainly because affordability. I could buy a house, but simply refuse to lay down 1.5 million for a modest home in a sub par neighborhood. If I pay 1.5 million for a home, it is going to be a 1.5 million home, not a shoe box next to an on ramp with a homeless tent city down the street.
  21. I like it. That condo out here in the Bay Area would be 5-6 million easily.
  22. I was at that NE game in 1981. My dad and my friend and his dad all left and heard a cheer from the lot and all wondered what happened
  23. I think NFL teams make far more money than what is publicly known or believed. This is 35 million is likely a tiny amount for them.
