Buffalo only ranked 24th in League Attendance
SF Bills Fan replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Buffalo all at the same level which is interesting for teams with hardcore fan bases, successful teams (more so Pitt and minn right now) and Minnesota has that awesome new stadium. I'll point to our snow game which probably didn't help the attendance figure. But that seems low for us and few other cities. -
When Cinci scored. What happened?
SF Bills Fan replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When the Bengals scored, I was standing outside the Bills bar in San Francisco watching through the window ready to trudge home. I was full of skepticism, but the flags on the Ravens and the go for broke attitude of the Bengals had my attention. They scored and multiple people ran out to hug me and I thought I was going to get knocked down and actually hurt. It was mayhem. There was something like 44 seconds left, so I was still very wary. After the Bengals-Ravens game ended, I was still worried something weird would pop up and we wouldn't get in. I'm trained to expect the worst after all these years. Maybe it is time to throw away my skepticism? It seems like the curse is now broken. -
The Drought Just Became An Advantage

I think we can win this game. The Bills are riding an emotional high right now, I think the Jags are flat. After that, we are done. But good things are to come. I think this is the beginning of the ascension of the Bills to a top team. -
Jags had weakest schedule in 2017

I'm not too fearful of Bortles. Our secondary could have a good day. And I am worried about our run game which will be significantly depleted against a very good run defense on their side. We will need to rely on Taylor to win this one. We will probably employ extra blocking and run a power scheme and hope to win a turnover battle. My guess is low scoring and we have a shot. Hauschka better be ready. -
There were grown men openly weeping at the Northstar Bills bar in San Francisco after the game(s). It was a big day. No shame!

Whose watching Pats Vs Jets?
SF Bills Fan replied to BillsFan692's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady is savvy enough to chuck the ball up knowing that either the receiver makes the catch or they get the PI call. Even borderline calls (as everyone knows) will go their way, so its a smart move and high percentage. I think it's a function of changing the PI penalties so a team doesn't get whacked that much when a QB is merely trying to draw the call and not get the play. -
Can someone help me with the 4th down reversal?
SF Bills Fan replied to Andrew Son's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd bet if we knocked the ball loose when he extended it and turned it into something the refs would rule he was down and it would have been our ball on downs. -
When did you know today's game was over?
SF Bills Fan replied to Chicharito's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking at both plays, the replay actually supported the case FOR a Benjamin TD and the replay on their 4th was not conclusive to overturn that 4th stop and make it a 1st. There was no clear view to show that his knee was up or down in the mob. {Plays stands. But it was the Pats. That and and the lack of any meaningful call against them. Our penalties were game changers. -
When did you know today's game was over?
SF Bills Fan replied to Chicharito's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reversed 4th down stop. I knew then the refs were going to hand it to them. We would have gotten an emotional boost and, instead, the Pats got 3 and the wind seemed to go out of the sails. They were deflated after that. I'm not saying we would have won, but that and the overturned TD- it wouldn't have ended up like it did. -

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread
SF Bills Fan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oddly, it would have been better to have Titans win yesterday. Then we needed them to lose the last two (which is likely) and we only needed to beat Dolphins. With them winning, we now we need either a Baltimore or Chargers loss which is probably not happening. The loss to the Chargers and the Jets, as suspected, will be what keeps us out. -
Good analysis- assuming we win 2, I think the most likely scenario is the Titans losing 2 and we are in. If the Ravens lose 1 too, we actually bump to 5th seed.
-
If Chargers win we we need 3 Tennessee losses or 1 Baltimore loss (unlikely given true schedule). Chiefs win we only then need 2 Tennessee losses. It's much easier with Chiefs winning.
-
Nope- go to the espn playoff machine and use "win percentage" as the default (it gives you the most likely outcome for all games for the remaining weeks). Make the Chiefs the winner of this game and look at the playoff predictor and then make the Chargers the winners and look at the playoff outcomes. New York Times playoff predictor is the same. Definitely root for Chiefs.
-
We want the Chiefs to win. The Bills have an easier road to the playoffs if that happens.
-
I thought we would want the Chargers to win, but according to the ESPN playoff machine, we want the Chiefs to win today. If most games play out like they should we get in (assuming we win 2 of our last 3). We would also need the Titans to lose 2 of 3. If Baltimore loses against Colts or Bengals we would slide to 5th seed.

The “Billsiest” way for the season to end
SF Bills Fan replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's talk about the ballsiest way we win. Everything aligns and it's win and in week 17. The Bills are down by 7 and drive the field to score a TD with mere seconds remaining. Rather than tie and go to OT- the Bills go for two and Tyrod runs it in. Clock expires as he crosses the goal and game over. -
Win next weekend but likely lose the next two
-
So does anyone BELIEVE we will make the Playoffs?
SF Bills Fan replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Focus on beating the Dolphins. there are many favorable scenarios to getting in if this happens. I think that the odds of the Bills getting in if they beat the dolphns twice is something like 65% as it stands now. -
Very lucky on 2 point conversion
SF Bills Fan replied to Buffalobillygoats's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was an illegal pick. The Colt player made no attempt to get open, he only illegally blocked our player. It was the right call. -
There are several scenarios that lead to the playoffs, but if we beat Dolphins twice, Tennessee loses 2 of 3 (very real possibility) and the Chargers beat KC this weekend (not easy because it is in KC) and we would likely get in. We just need to focus on those Dolphins games. We have gotten tripped up on those types of games in the past. Would be great to have a win and in scenario last week against the Dolphins.
-
Tennessee losing was huge. If we beat Dolphins twice and Tenessee loses two- very likely since they play Niners in SF, Rams and Jax AND Chargers beat KC next week we are in. That's the best path and doable
